In the Tolkien legendarium, Gandalf is the same essential type of being Sauron is, so maybe if these three weird ladies are sensing his soul energy or something undefined instead of going by looks it explains why they might mistake them.

Yeah in their mortal bodies on middle earth they could look like anyone, the ladies being confused makes sense in that regard considering the Wanderer has just arrived and Sauron we assume can still change his appearance.

Sauron is a was the greatest of the Maiar. Gandalf is one of the lesser of the Maiar

Halbrands very first words to Galadriel were "Looks can be decieving" Also he said in the cells on Numenor about peoples fears; "Give them a means of mastering it.. so you can master them"... sounds an awful lot like what he does with the rings

His first shot in the film is also him looking at her with a single eye. Also you never saw him sleeping (as he doesn't need to) and he was really interested in the forge (and good with it) in Numenor. Oh and he really didn't like Ada... who says he killed him. :)

If you know The Silmarillion, as soon as that dude says his idea to use mithril is a "gift" to Celibrimbor, you know he's Sauron. Sauron was disguised as Anatar Lord of Gifts for centuries with the Elves.

Rings of Power has been agreed for 5 seasons of fifty hours total. That was part of the agreement with the Tolkien Estate. They have storyboarded the whole thing already and know the last shot in the last season. Halbrand / Sauron was Aule's (the Valar that created the dwarves) chief servant and and blacksmith. He was good before he became "evil" under Morgoth. When Morgoth was defeated, Sauron at first repented and tried to do good, but when he was told he needed to be judged by the Valar, he went into hiding in Mordor. As for "Gandalf", he is saying the same lines as Gandalf does in the films / books, so it is likely he is Gandalf. However, there is the possibility that he is one of the two Blue Wizards who went to Rhun. As for Galadriel and Sauron, they meet again during the over throw of Dol Guldor (shown in the Hobbit movies) where the white council fight against Sauron (who was disguised as the Necromancer). Thanks for sticking with this despite the low viewing figures on your channel and the negative comments as I've loved watching your reactions throughout. Its nice to watch someone who just appreciated it for what it is. As for what is to come, there is lots and I've a very good idea what will happen in Season 2 and beyond, but I wont spoil it. Suffice to say that it will be far more action packed and darker. Thanks again. You really added to my enjoyment of the show.

Favorite storyline and actors to me was The Dwarves. I want a spinoff just in the dwarven kingdom.

I heard a theory that each season of rings of power could focus on how the rings of each species got forged, the 3 rings of elves, the nine rings of humans, the dwarves rings, all that

Only the three were different. The others are all the same. Sauron just gave them to different races.

Glad you guys enjoyed it! I always enjoy your reactions as well. Your commentary just adds an extra layer of entertainment value and your facial reactions at certain points are hilarious! Season 2 is already in production and the studio is looking into 5 seasons in total. Of course, I don't want to go into what these seasons will consist of (since you're wanting to go in not knowing) but I think you'll definitely enjoy it. As you said, there is a lot more story to tell and it will be darker than this first season ;)! Cheers lads!

Sauron actually was trying to be "good" and repent for his past sins but Galadriel sort of pushed him into thinking he was destined for greatness. Then once she refused to be with him he said fuck it and decided to go full evil again. It's like the Elf king said at the start, sometimes if you try to put out a fire with wind you end up spreading it instead, which is exactly what she ended up doing.

If you want to know exactly what it says in The Silmarillion, it's that Sauron was not evil in origin. He was a spirit corrupted by the Prime Dark Lord Morgoth. He was give an opportunity of repentance, after Morgoth was overcome, but could not face the humiliation he experienced and so his temporary turn to good and benevolence ended in a greater relapse, later becoming the main representative of Evil in the later ages. But at the beginning of the second age, he was still beautiful to look at, and was indeed not wholly evil. So this season basically takes place at the beginning of the second age when Sauron was "good" or at least attempting to be, but we never knew before what exactly happened that caused him to feel such humiliation that he turned evil again. Now we know it was Galadriel's rejection of him.

Instead of a dark lord you'll have a queen... Kate blanchett referenced that same line from The fellowship of the Ring

So I don't know if you guys are actually going to take a look at this, but the character you know as Gandalf at this point in. His life is not yet Gandalf. At this point he's actually a Maiar (Lesser god) of similar strength to Sauron, and his name is Olorin. He only became Gandalf after splitting the majority of his power among 4 lesser Maiar. He only reclaims this power after he faced the Balrog that you saw the Dwarf King trying to keep trapped under Moria. This is why when Aragorn and Co. find him in Fangorn forest, the newly leveled up White Wizard doesn't seem to immediately recognize his name, because he was back to being Olorin, the Maiar of light and wind.

Galadriel has a big fight scene with Sauron in Hobbit movies. So yeah, she will see him again. You should watch that

in the books Sauron disguised himself as Annatar lord of gifts and deceived Celebrimbor to forge the 16 rings then went to forge the one ring but Celebrimbor forged the 3 elven rings alone and gave them to Galadriel and G-il Galad then G-il Galad gave the two to Cirdan and Alrond

Gil Galad gave one to Cirdan and kept one for himself. When he died Cirdan gave GGs to Elrond and then his own to Gandalf later on.

Yep, its in production with filming started. Latest is that they "hope" it will be back end of 2023, but it might be pushed into 2024.

At the start of the episode i was like nah i'm not buying this shit they gotta be mistaken, i haven't even read silmarillion but one thing i knew is that they wanted us to think that the giant is sauron so they can surprise us with another reveal. but overall dope show both this show and the house of dragons got me wanting so much more can't wait for season 2

Amazon spent a world record amount of money on this show. Viewing numbers have to be incredibly low for them to not make more seasons. However viewing numbers were great.

The scroll is a clue to the true king of the Southlands (and Middle Earth), which will be Isildur and his father's bloodline..

I think the giant is Saruman, not Gandelf. Remember, Saruman was once good.

I cannot be for sure but I think that the wizard is one of the Blue Wizards.

Yeah, its a bit up in the air. He's using the exact same phrases and mannerisms as Gandalf in places and he is with the hobbits ancestors, which suggests he is Gandalf, but where he is heading and the time he is doing it suggests he could be one of the Blue Wizards. My money is on Gandalf as I don't think they can make so many references to Gandalf and then say "I'm Pallando" as most viewers would be confused as hell. I think they will call him Olorin which was Gandalf's earlier name.

While that was a good theory for a long time, it makes far more sense for it to be Gandalf. Hes here wandering around with Hobbits, wears a grey cloak, uses the staff & literally says Gandalfs line from the movies. Yes its far too early for it to be him, but Haldir and the other elves also never came to help the men in two towers either so im fine with them changing things if it helps serve the story theyre telling.

@@deathswitch2404 Tolkien actually said (in one of his many and at t imes contradictory notes) that Gandalf (as Olorin) went to Middle Earth in both the first and second ages, so they can get away with it technically. End of the day though, like the films, its an adaptation, so if it makes the thing better (Like the elves joining at Helm's Deep) then go for it.

This whole series sucked a$$ -- so many huge nonsensical plot elements, cringe dialogue, terrible editing, and all around just horrible writing. The visuals were cool and the score was great, that's it.

Why you two still pretends like this show is good, we're not dumb....

No one is pretending anything, you just got a passion to hate this show and you can't accept that others liking it, if anyone says they like this show it MEANS they like it simple as that.. no one needs to pretend shit so that any haters like you might believe that they like it and you know why? because no one cares what haters might say or think. This show is dope as they said and for whatever reason you dont like it keep it to yourself, no need to bother yourself on why people like it or if they pretending to like it.

They are the two most honest KZreadrs that I personally know. Their reactions are clearly genuine. The only one who looks dumb suggesting otherwise is yourself. Just watch something else if you don't like it, there is more than enough out there.

Ive yet to find someone to tell me why they dont like this show without turning into snobs or idiots "oh but in the books...." or "Galadriel is too op". Literally no one cares. We enjoyed it, thats where it ends.
