The Longest Day: Grizzly Bear Hunting in Alaska

Спорт

Brendan Burns travels with Will Waldrip and his son Willie to Alaska to hunt grizzly bears. The bugs were fierce, the bears were plentiful, and the action was fast. Sometimes you're just in the right place, at the right time, with the right people-this was one of those days.

Within the same second that the rifle was shouldered. The firing pin. And the bullet struck. True. I'm getting on in years. Have watched a few hundred hunting videos. And this must be one. Of perhaps. Two. Of the top performers regarding weapon skill! Perfectly keeping composure. Excellent execution young man! You induce humbleness. Great field guiding as well.

World class photography. Passes you at 6 metres wounded & you're only holding a camera!!! Won't ever forget that moment even when you're in a rocking chair. Well done from Australia. This is why I am subscribed. What fantastic country too. Now you gotta fish for over a week. And to share a day like that with your son? Well that's a Goundhog day that your son will remember you by decades after you're gone. A genuine privilege to share that with you.

Congrats on your good fortune and hunting prospects! A lot of people would be lucky to have the access you do. For those who don't, guides like Lance are key for them to get opportunities that they otherwise couldn't take, for a variety of reasons including access, time in the field, and trial-and-error experience. Lance has been working with us for many years to help test and improve our products, and we know many hunters who have worked with him; we have never heard any credible evidence to support that he takes animals for his clients, and in fact, he talked candidly at our Mountain Academy 2018 about how he sometimes has to look a client in the eye and apologize for a hunt that didn't result in success. Lance is motivated and aggressive, but in our experience, never unethical. If you have compelling proof that this is something that's going on, please feel free to DM us so we can make an informed choice whether to continue our association, but if not, it isn't constructive to make unsupported accusations. We wouldn't expect you to be particularly broken up if you're not able to comment on the KUIU KZread channel, but what we'd prefer is to keep the dialogue somewhat constructive--although of course, saying that in the KZread comment section is maybe a bit wishful.

It lived a majestic life. Sired many offspring. Fought over females and territory with unwavering strength and resilience. In its wanderings it saw beautiful, natural sights none of us could ever comprehend. To die at the hands of an animal that must murder to feel 1/100th of ur power. This shows ur greatness and character as an animal amongst animals no respect. They kill for killings sake. It's sad, not brave.
