The Long Trail: Day 15

Twin Brooks Tent site (mile 200) to Whiteface Shelter (mile 214).
My Book Info:
Pushing North: Tame the Mind, Savor the Journey www.amazon.com/dp/B0997DNRXF/...
This book tackles the mental struggles humans face when on long-distance and long-duration events like a thru-hike. There is a lack of mental literature focused on our hiking community and this book will help fill the gap.
If you are like me, I read books like "Appalachian Trials" by Zach Davis before my hike. It was awesome and helped tremendously, but we need even deeper perspectives to increase the success rate of aspiring thru-hikers. 75 percent don't make it and their mental chaos, I argue, is the biggest reason.
This book is a must for every human faced with tough challenges in their lives (AKA all of us). It will help you gain awareness of what is happening in your mind and why. It will also give you the tools to control the chaos and find more fulfillment in the journey.

Best vid yet. Gorgeous sunrise, beautiful fall colors. I’m terrified of heights. Had to throw my pack over on that jump over. Yikes! That was a challenge. Looking forward to the rest of your hike.

“They need some ladders on THAT joker” had me laughing out loud. It was tough dry. I can’t imagine trying to shimmy down that thing when it was wet.

Getting concerned that I hadn't seen a vlog from you for a few days! Thought the Mansfield monster got ya! Caught up on your videos from a great view in undisclosed location in the woods near the NH/Canadian border. Looking forward to your next few entries to finish off the LT!

Wow! Too bad about the clouds on Mansfield, but I guess the trail will give you what the trail’s going to give you. A few years ago, my sons and I hiked up Mansfield going SOBO on the LT. I can’t imagine going down it. It was brutal! Great video. Happy hiking!!

The chin (I think that's what they call the North side) was crazy steep and wet going down. Something I won't forget.🤘🕓

I did Mansfield about a month ago. The weather and views were beautiful, but the trail was a conga-line. So you got the trail to yourself, which I guess is an upside.

Sucks that you didn't get a view on Mansfield. Neither did I. I know your done now, but how bout that decent! Did some but slides myself, as it was snowing on me as I went through. Probably the toughest decent I've done. Loving the steady low volume music loop throughout the vids. It ads a cool extra layer.

It's like it was yesterday, yet years ago. That was a tough few miles. Mansfield has awesome views, and you can practically run across the flat summit. I basically did. Going down the Forehead on that ladder last year was super sketch. On my 90s section hike, it wasn't there. It was a tough rock scramble up back then. Enjoying your music choices 👍.
