The Little Things in Life

In this talk, Eckhart emphasizes the importance of honoring the small moments that make up most of our lives and being at peace with what is arising in the present moment. Rather than focusing on arriving in the future, we experience the most fullness in life from the present moment. Subscribe to find greater presence in life: bit.ly/EckhartYT

Eckhart Tolle is a spiritual teacher and author, born in Germany and educated at the Universities of London and Cambridge. At the age of 29 a profound inner transformation radically changed the course of his life. He devoted the next several years to understanding, integrating, and deepening that transformation. With his international bestsellers, The Power of Now and A New Earth-translated into over 52 languages-he has introduced millions to the joy and freedom of living life in the present moment. The New York Times has described him as “the most popular spiritual author in the United States”, and Watkins Review has named him “the most spiritually influential person in the world.”
Eckhart’s profound, yet simple teachings have helped countless people around the globe experience a state of vibrantly alive inner peace in their daily lives. His teachings focus on awakening consciousness, which transcends ego and discursive thinking, and can be seen as the next step in human evolution. In the awakened state of presence, we discover what Eckhart describes as our essential identity-who we are beneath the surface-and its power for transforming our selves and our world.

I had a “weed” growing around my mailbox. I stopped cutting it down this year. I don’t go down to get the mail my husband does. Today I went down to check the mail. Today I saw the blackberries and it made my day. My lack of action gave way to fruit. I have many birds that live around my home. People will hear them when I am talking on the phone. The sound of the birds bring them joy. The birds bring me joy every day. I am able to give them a special thank you treat of fresh blackberries and it warms my heart and soul.

Hi Eckhart! Last week, something incredible happened to me. I'm 22 years old, and have struggled for many years with anxiety, stress, and low self esteem. I was introduced to you and your books late last year, and since then, I've had small glimpses here and there of a state of silence, peace. Last week, I took a walk with my dog through our small village that I live in. I was not too anxious this day, just a little general unease like I often feel. I then thought to myself "Ok, now I'm actually gonna try to observe all these thoughts I have and this feeling in my body". And so, I started paying attention to all these thoughts, as well as my surroundings, without adding any additional thoughts to them. And suddenly... I got this strong sensation of understanding. It was like I saw all these thoughts of good enough and not good enough, should and shouldn't do, the future, all of these for what they really are - just thoughts, ideas. There was this detachment from these thoughts and reality, and I suddenly understood that I had been completely glued to these thoughts and made them my identity, and now I saw them as just a thought, an idea, that has nothing to do with who I am, and is simply unimportant and serves no purpose. I felt such joy all of a sudden, and a simplicity towards everything. I almost started laughing a bit, so I was happy no one was around to see me, haha! The sensation went away a bit later that day, and this week I've been overthinking again (of what thoughts really are, etc.), but I've had several more glimpses of this peaceful state. You have really shown me something I never knew existed, and I hope and believe this will be my permanent state eventually! Thank you Mr. Tolle!

It comes and goes, but I think it comes more and more often :) Eckhart has really taught me that instead of forcing away negative thoughts, I instead take a step back and redefine what thoughts actually are. As I passed a group of trees with the sun behind them, I caught a quick glimpse of the silhouette of a deer. That fraction of a second transformed my whole day. I immediately began to smile. It eclipsed how I physically felt.

The ongoing inflationary use of the word 'hate' in the media pisses me off, so to speak. 'Hate' is the most extreme comparative form of 'not liking smth.' and should be used as such. Where are the different shades like 'dislike' and 'don't like', 'don't love' for that matter. So, think, before you use the word 'hate' the next time!

He passed away short after and it was one of the most terrible experiences in my life. Ever since I am watching your videos to get to the place of acceptance. I’m grateful that Scott was able to read your book to me. I am still grieving and crying a lot, but I am also trying to be aware of what’s happening when those thoughts of our wonderful life together are arising. It’s physical pain that I feel in my heart in those moments and I know now, that I’ve lost the love of my life and that I can’t do anything about this. Thank you for your videos Eckart

And now Eckhart just said what it was. My attention is more in the compulsive-thinking mind than in the present moment and the events that take place. Be yourself. Yourself is now. Now is conciousness. And we are all in the now. So if your being yourself I'm more inclined to be me and together who knows what we can achieve. We've already achieved so much. It's mind boggling how much more there is out there for us, or how much more there is for us now ♥️ much love

We can overlook important things also .. it’s possible to live with a person and overlook them. And it’s also possible for them to pass on and it’s to late , the chance to notice and appreciate them has gone ..

It's funny how soothing it is to notice be a part of synchronity in the present moment. I would like it to liken to lsd but I've never taken it hahaha but its like the saying 'high on life' it's a metaphor but it actually feels like a drug induced high, but better cause it's always there hahaha peace and love to everyone ❤️

Hello there, In my daily life I have been noticing that there are some things that I do purily aware, doing my bed, putting books or other stuff in a table. It started randomly, but afterall it's the narrative that makes things being either good or bad because, we usually are just breathing, walking, eating, talking ahaha mind is insane
