I got pretty emotional when Corey’s son said “oh my god he’s right there” , I can’t wait till I can watch that same expression on my sons’ faces when they get old enough. Great video!
I am a absolutely speechless. I'm a young guy in his mid 20's with a little brother, and I cried watching Isaac's reaction after the shot. What an amazing film. Awesome job everyone.
Hands down the best video on KZread
Nothing short of exceptional! This is what it's all about, GREAT story.
To Corey, Ben and David. A wonderful tribute to Corey's talent. An emotional reminder of how hunting connects generations together. And a subtle nudge to protect what we love to those of us who hunt.
Beautiful tribute to elk, elk hunting and the pioneers of elk calling.Wayne Carlton and Will Primos have not only helped me with their calls and techniques, but have been mentors and stewards for conservation and the preservation of our lands, both public and private, to keep this passion for the outdoors and hunting alive for generations to come. Thanks Corey, for producing another great testimony to our love of family, god and being in the wilderness hunting these majestic, timeless animals.
Wow, what a great film. Hit this one out of the park. The history, the generations, and the story is outstanding.
Heck yeah! Memories of growing up watching these legends. Good work Corey
Being from Canada and living between the elk on our farm. The video surpasses the industry standard on videos and brings memories from around our place to the screen. You need to be complemented on the outstanding job you have done. Congrats from north of the border from saskatchewan
What a great film! Corey, as a 50 year old midwesterner who just started Elk hunting at 48 and hunts with a bow, I don't have time for the long learning curve. I greatly appreciate Elk101!!!

I think he’s been hunting elk longer then that?
I grew up watching Larry D. Jones and Dwight Schuh what a pair. I still have that cassette tape which was on this video. Larry is a top notch hunter.
Absolutely wonderful story gentlemen with great pioneers of the field. Thumbs up from the Cayman Islands...!
If you are or want to be an elk hunter, you HAVE TO watch this. Thank you Corey for putting this together. Awesome job.
Amazing video! Thanks to all who put work into it and sharing it with us!
One of the best videos I have every seen! Truly Cory and others that have kept this tradition going is what we need in the elk hunting world!
Amazing film. Such an inspiration. I only wish I could see the rest of the footage that Ben took. Kudos Ben for the amazing filmography and keeping up with a stud like Cory. I hope some day a person like me could see that film. Also, Sitka, I really respect your vision for this film and how it isn't about the brand, its about the experience and community.
Will Primos has got to be the most interesting man alive. Always positive, always has a story or rhyme about how to live life the right way and to the fullest. And even sings them a little. Great story you've put together here 👍🏼🎯🏹
Great Story, great landscape, great game - Waidmannsheil (Congratulation) from Germany!
I wish there was a way to give this film 10 thumbs up. What a great story, now channel your inner Ken Burnes and make the 10 hour mini series us elk hunting/calling nerds would love to see. I bought my first elk call from Mr Larry D. Jones at a sportsmen show in the mid 80's and have been addicted to it every since. Listen to that cassette over and over in the truck on the to elk camp and watched Larry's videos with my buddies until we were worked up almost as much as some of those rutting bulls.
You have gave me loads of new calling tactics using thermals and wind terrain and obstacles to bring in the bull in the hunters lap thank you so very much I'm so excited for this year elk hunting in eastern Oregon thank you Corey
What a fantastic film! A great tribute to the critters & hunters alike.
Beautiful film. Inspiring. I learned and laughed and I'll admit, I shed a couple tears. Can't wait to show this to my kids.
amazing film corey !!!! What a great great group of guys. My favorite was mr primos. again thank you
The ending gave me chills. Can't beat quoting Jeremiah Johnson. Awesome stuff.

Thinking beyond ourselves to the next generation. Fundamental message, brilliantly delivered.

Great storyline and great people that's why this videos so spot on elk.
Wow, you just raised the bar, could not have been better.
Bad ass you guys. The best I've ever seen. Stirs deep emotions for me.
Corey, Donny & Dirk ,,,, You guys gave me something to live for...!!!!... I cant wait until I hit the mountains for the 1st time this Sept & Def cant wait until my son is old enough to join me........... Thanks for every ounce of info you've shared with us new comers
Great story telling. An awesome movie with fantastic older video added in. Thank you for making this.
Glad I watched the rough cuts before I watched the final production. Not saying anything negative. This is like a preview to the big story. I highly recommend anyone who hasn't watch them do so. There is a whole lot more to this journey. Wow.
That was great I remember watching some of those old videos with my Dad. I have a son the same age as Corey's and I cannot wait to get him out West after High School.
All my heros in one film. such a well done film.
Great video! I grew up watching all theses guys ,My dad had all them on VHS and I ate them up and I so wanted to be like these guys and that was my drive to become a hunting guide and to pursue my passion in hunting I would sit for hours watching Will Primos, Gordon Eastman, Mike Eastman,Wayne Carlton, Larry D Jones, Steve Chappell. I wanted to to be able to talk to the elk not just buy a Call and blow it and hope something came.I owe a great majority of what I know to these great men. Thanks for the video!
Wow that was awesome I watched everyone one of the old Larry Jones movies listened to every tape he and Carlson put out. Every year I could not wait for a new Truth on elk to come out. That was a lot of years ago thank you and a big thanks to elk hunting legends that made me the elk hunter I am today. Great work guys!!!!
This is probably my favorite video now! Great amazing job guys!
Awesome film. Thank you for taking us back to where it began. Congrats to Isaac on a great shot and super cool bull!!!
Amazing film, all the legends in this one I’m blessed to have watched it!
Awesome story! I didn't know the history of elk calling and was surprised how recently it developed.
Tear jerking work guys, thank you.
Great video! Best 30 mins I spent in a while on the internet!
Great, great film. I'll be watching this one again for sure.
This was awesome. A lot of us grew up like Corey. We all have a duty to carry on the PROPER traditions. So cool.
Heart touching video. So much history.
Great work fellas! Inspiration to us all.
Супер!!! Огромное спасибо за фильм!!!!! Great video!!!
I was calling elk with the Carlton diaphram for my dad's friends during the late 70's and early 80's before I was old enough to hunt big game. Wayne and Larry were and still are my heroes. Exceptional video that brings back many great memories. Thanks!
So cool, would love to go along just to sit back & watch Thanks
Very nicely done...three weeks and a couple of days!
I hope to have the same experience with my sons next month. Thanks for a great film!
Absolutely fantastic film!! Gets me Fired Up!!
Awesome movie! Can't wait to get an elk this season!
Awesome awesome video. Production quality was fantastic and the sound the of those elk just gives me chills.
This was the most powerful, well produced hunting film I've ever seen. Absolutely stunning.
Truly epic, outdoor Heroes at their finest
Great film, great story. i have personally been a part of the"old school" elk hunting back in the day. everyone on this video i have had the pleasure to meet, and use the calls that were available to us 30 plus years ago. the story reminds me of the term, Pass it on. my son is 25 years old now, and is an elk calling- and killing machine. He is actually the one in charge of HCC, and i am just a proud dad / grandpa, that loves and lives, to continue to hunt these majestic animals. this story really took me back in time, thanks.
This still remains one of the best videos I have seen. We watch it all the time. Amazing job.
This is my favorite film of all time! I just keep watching it over and over. Fantastic!!
Isaac is going to remember that bull for a long time. I love that he's got this video to remember the experience.
I got a big lump in my throat towards the end!! Family is so important and taken for granted so much anymore. I felt as though I were standing right there because of fantastic filming!!! Very nice family!!!
All I can say is wow 👏 that gave me chills. I'm grateful to be able to watch these videos it inspires me to be a better hunter every time my boots hit the dirt.
Simply awesome film! Watching Corey's son arrow his bull was an emotional moment. Fantastic1
Great Story ,you have been a mentor to me. Thank You
Thank you for your passion
Man what a great video! Thank you Corey for putting this together.
One of the best videos I’ve watched in a long time, love it. The way you guys captured the history of calling and generations of Elk hunters was top notch.
Great video and I agree with Cory Jacobson Our knowledge is to be pasted on to the younger generation's to come . I enjoyed all the information and content in this video awesome job thank you .
Awesome story telling. Thats what its all about. 31 more days until I harvest my first bull!
Came across this video knowing zero on elk hunting (and know fairly intrigued!) I did however know LOTS of the films that Cana has done in the past from so many wedding videos on Vimeo. I couldn't think of a better company do have done this film & score. It's a true work of art. Kudos from Canada.
What incredible and beautiful footage! Great story as well. Archery season is right around the corner. I can't wait!
All the greats in one video!! I absolutely loved this!!
I'll be hitting the elk woods for the first time next year...it's not about grabbing glory for myself, it's about learning the craft...so someday I can see the same look on my boy's face. Thank you Corey and to all of the greats whose shoulders we stand on.
Outstanding man, just Outstanding. The pure adrenaline and excitement in the kid just reminds you why. Right through to the old men who you still see the fire in their eyes for the mountain. I leave in 2 days for the remainder of archery season in Colorado, year 11 in a row. When that streak ends its probably because my story is over. Great video
One of the most beautiful things I think I have ever seen. I've asked myself - more and more, these days - what the American tradition is. And I found this film and saw the trees and clouds in the first few seconds and I knew I had found my answer. We are and will always be pioneers. I won't let my children forget that.
There needs to be more documentaries like this. The history alone is fascinating and who can get tired of screaming bulls. My son and I both enjoyed the film. Please publish any more footage you may have especially the one on one interviews those would be great!
Absolutely amazing! The story, the scenery, the calling, and everything in-between!
Fantastic video! Love seeing Corey interview the pioneers! While getting the elk is the goal, the camaraderie and memories built are priceless!
Amazing video. I appreciate that it was about way more than calling elk. Thanks so much for doing it. I hope to some day draw an elk tag here in KY. I will be watching it again. Well done.
I loved this film! My whole family did. This is what it's all about. Very well done. Thank you to all who were involved.
spot on without a doubt the best you've done ever!
That is an awesome story over the past 40 years!! Thank you for putting this together.
Amazing video! Corey and Team, thank you for all you have done and continue to do for the tradition of elk hunting!
Funny I was just reading a thread on bowsite this am about how hunting shows sucked so bad and are a disservice to hunting...not this one. Thank you Corey. This is an exceptionally well done and put together film. You nailed it and hit home many times on this. I really enjoyed this. Thanks for all you do!
Well done Corey...perfect!
Great video!! Love to see the passion and passing down of tradition. Always great content, really appreciate it.
Great video and such a great story! As if I needed anything else to get me fired up for elk season....thanks Sitka for putting out this message and history for Elk hunting!
This is an amazing short film... I love that it shows the different generations as that’s one of the main attractions to hunting for me... it’s definitely a generational privilege we have, in the same way as playing catch with your kids... the difference between playing catch and hunting though is that hunting is primal, and you don’t necessarily need a baseball team if you catch the hunting bug. A drive to learn and have new adventures is all you really need. You get the chance to take in those sun rises and sunsets that Will was talking about... the smell of sage or pines or whatever country your in... there’s just something I can’t explain about being in the woods or mountains or wherever your playground is and taking notice of nature coming to life around you, the birds, squirrels, the warmth of the sun, the chilling breeze that your trying to keep in your face, the smells of the forest... I could keep going here but I just gotta day it again... This short is amazing, the camera work, the score, the story, all of it!!
What an epic film, thank you for the tribute to the Elk legends.
Amazing. A work of art.
Awesomeness! This was a great film. Thanks to the legends of the elk woods for all they have done to promote and protect this great sport of elk hunting.
Loved it, plain and simple. What a great film!
Absolutely excellent Corey! I am very appreciative of you and your team for producing this story to help the rest of us pass on the passion!
One of the best elk films I've watched!
Great job!! All the favorites in this one. Speaking from the heart. Their passion bleeds through the screen
Awesome video. Simply awesome!
