The Levante Trofeo is the Best Modern Maserati - Two Takes
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Win a dream road trip across the Pacific Northwest in a C8 Corvette right here (Ends 6/4/20): www.omaze.com/TST
If you read the spec sheet to someone: a 590 HP Ferrari-built 3.8L V8, perfect 50/50 weight distribution, double-wishbone front and multilink rear suspension, heavily rear-biased AWD, and 0-60 in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 187, they would probably think you were talking about an exotic sport GT, not a Sport Utility Vehicle. But here we are, and the Levante Trofeo, even with some of its typical Maserati quirks, shocks both Zack and Matt with its dynamics on the road. It's Maserati's most modern-feeling car by a mile. And with power and space comparable to the BMW X5M or Cayenne Turbo, but hauling just over the curb weight of the much smaller X3M or Macan Turbo, the Levante Trofeo isn't just a fun to drive SUV, it's a ton of fun, period.
Maserati of North America provided the vehicle, insurance, and a tank of fuel for this review.

Years of normal society: reviews in solitude During a global pandemic: review together 😂👍🏻
It looks like you guys really did have a blast in this one. I've gotten used to Zack's One Takes and seeing you two review the same cars and calling it "Twok Takes" could be your next hit. Seeing Matt's analysis while Zack is driving. And reviewing Zacks reactions while Matt is driving puts everything together really well! Excited for the live cast. Stay Full and Healthy!

The amount of cash you can get on the hood of Trofeo's is hysterical. There is a brand new 2019 Trofeo for sale in Maryland with $42,000 off sticker.

In fairness, Maserati lowered the price of the truck a LOT between when it was launched and now. At launch it was $175k. The window sticker on mine was $147k. Not sure if they changed the price for MY19 or 20, but I wouldn't be surprised if cash on the hood brings the leftover 19 model in line with the 2020 pricing.

Because it's a Maserati. Maserati is the lowest ranked car manufacturer. You'll hear "you can get a $130,000 Maserati for $40,000" because Maserati are pretty horrible cars for the price. They are overrated cars with a Toyota Camry level interior with the reliability of a Mini. It would be more uncommon to see a used maserati at anything other than -%50 base price.

Glorious V8 engine, rwd most of the time, and a gorgeous exterior. Love the dynamics. Only complaint is the interior and or price. Damn that engine sounds good though

Ever since I saw both of you in the mini I thought yes we definitely need this. To have a video that visualizes the opinions we love to hear on the podcast is a automatic win. Keep it up.
The chemistry y’all have built on the podcast shines through really well here. Good episode guys!
I hope that these "2 guys, 1 take" videos do well enough to justify more. The conversational nature makes it fun to watch all the way through. Thanks guys!
OMG the two of you together is so much more great then either of you solo. Keep this format up! And stay safe in Cali, friends!
The Smile on Zach’s face when Matt first pulls off says it all.
You know that Matt is going really fast when Zack giggles!
Hi guys, I really enjoy when you guys do the vids together! It works really well
I really like these Two Takes guys!
YES ON THIS FORMAT -- CAR POWER COUPLE !
Really like having Zack along for the ride, really enjoy the details you shared, really don't like the price because I would love one of these. Stay safe guys!
Absolutely adore this car. Cheers from Italy guys 🙌🏼
It looks beautiful from every angle! Sound great too!
Really love that word 'talkative' to explain the handling feel. I'm going to steal it unashamedly.
This two take was far more enjoyable than I expected it to be... And you guys gotta drive the Urus on the road and tell us about it
love the two take....do more of these please!!!!!!
Two takes are most defiantly better than one, it's like mini version of the podcast in a car.
what an epic fast flowing road
Yo these twin takes are sweet! It's like a bit of the podcast in the one take
This format with both of you in the car is way better.
Love the “two takes”!
This was great! Hope to see more team-ups.
jheez dude your mobbing the bends in that thing, I love it, awesome vid
Got to say, that's a good looking SUV. Looks fast as well!
Todd and Paul from everyday driver figured it out with the podcast style reviews with both of them in the car. This is another example of it working very well
You guys are soon lucky to have this ROAD to drive!😎
I watched this video and immediately called our broker about availability. In my opinion up until now the last great Maseratis were the Bora and Ghibli SS. I own a blue over saddle leather 1970 SS that is an unrestored survivor with 38k miles. With the exception of tires, tune up parts, a headliner and other maintenance parts is all original and beautiful. Not just one of the greatest Maseratis of all time but one of the best GT cars of the era. Quite robust too for and old car. I got it from an estate sale with 29k miles and after a refurbish to make it road worthy have put 11k miles on it with almost no issues whatsoever. Matt not only do l enjoy your show l have used it as a bit if a buyers guide. A few months after your review an Alfa Montreal found it's way into my stable (every bit as fabulous as you said if not more so!) and just this past Monday took delivery of our Taycan Turbo S. So l'm curious to see how the Levante Trofeo feels in person. Thanks!
I'm glad Matt is giving this fast espresso a go! Maserati boys are given a break here!
Great review about very rare car! Thank you very much! The car looks really good, by the way!
Loving two takes is so good way better with both of you
Looking forward to a Ghibli Trofeo review one day, seems like that car will be a good one with this engine.
Lovely color
The proportions of the SUV are excellent
This thing could be a beast
All Alfa Romeo Stelvios have the same set up. Double wishbone front and multi link rear. It has really fast steering with the supple suspension. I love the Italians’ supple suspension set up. It’s just better and more rational on the road.
Just happy to see the brand getting alittle love for a change instead of just being ok or not even that .

Owner of a 2017 Levante S. The slow(er) one. We just love it. Reliable, fun and fast. And like the "cash on the hood" comment on Masi prices, we got it in Ford Explorer territory. Now we get to hope it stays reliable. lol!!! So far, very good.
I think that this is a little taste of what's to come from our friends at Maranello!
Stelvio QV comparison please! Great video
BEAUTIFUL ROAD!! Skyhook suspension was on the original Maserati Quattroporte sedan that shared the Ferrari Scageletti body
Finally a fun to drive Maserati
This SUV is very appealing, sexy design. But new Maseratis are overpriced in my opinion, I’d wait about 2 years before buying one, then it starts to become more worth it I think. But for me personally I’d rather get the Stelvio QV

Always the people that try to bash the brand has never seen a Maserati in person nor have ever owned one..I have a 2010 Quattroporte Sport GTS fully loaded to gills and full of carbon fiber (inside and out) on Grigio exterior paint with all red leather interior with Alcantara insert on gloss black 20inch staggered Maserati wheel wrapped with 245front 295rear Pirrelli tires and I wouldn't trade it for nothing.
we've featured the GTS on our show let's roll out and this Levante is really good to drive. loved the sound too. she's a devil in a blue dress 😀😀😀😀😀😀

Italian V8's really do hit differently. None of them fake german pops, just raw exhaust. One of the best driver's SUV on the market IMO (the other being Stelvio Q) Yeah interior, infotainment and technology might not be as good as in the rivals, but it's got everything you'll need. That's how they save on the weight and in return make it handle better.
One month to the revealing of Grecale.. Will come in a Trofeo version as well
Great review as always. It's a curious car as its the same price in the UK as a Cayenne Turbo or RSQ8 Vorsprung but seemingly lighter with slightly less power. Have you had a drive of the RSQ8 and if so, which would be your preference?
@TheSmokingTire

Have not driven RSQ8. Lots of time in Cayenne Turbo's (including Hybrid) and I prefer dynamics of Maserati, although I prefer interior of POrsche.
This is the BEST looking SUV right now.

How does this compare to the Jaguar F-Pace SVR or the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio in terms of driving dynamics?

Coming later this week!
It has the same 8.4 inch chrysler group headunit (skinned ui). window controls from the chrysler group (same as my last car v6 charger). Weird seeing some similarities in a maserati. even the center console layout is reminiscent of a durango, grand cherokee. peep the headlight controls too.
Please do more takes with the two of you when schedule permits. They are leagues better than Matt by himself and even the One Takes with Zach. It has so much more fun of a fun, natural vibe than either of you on your own (or with some awkward car enthusiast in Zach's case).
They up ticked from lease to buy for many markets with the needed updates? IS it a Urus no this that and the new Aston need a challenge.
mate which Brad are those glasses you wear....they blown my mind man
Do you know the real curb weight? You can tell it's light on it's feet by the way you were throwing it around. Just wondering if there is any Italian measuring going on at all.
Is that Lake Hughes Road? Looks like a blast 👌👌
Don't forget to check out the Novitec Channel Maserati Levante Esteso and Esteso V1, I think you are going to like that
I'd settle with just the V6 one. Levante is without a doubt one of the best looking SUV's.
Which is a better giggle machine? Levante Trofeo or Jeep Trackhawk?
8:59 camera angle? Or cutting it real close to the other guy?

Hassan 2k Whiteside they didn’t really show much of the interior. Believe (I own one) the interior is nicer than anything it competes with. There are still some plastics that aren’t as nice as the others in the segment, but the quality of the leathers and stitching and the metal door pulls is phenomenal.

all the FCA cars nowadays look more and more attactive. I hope the sells goes up because their deserve a bigger place on our roads
I don’t know if it’s worth what they are asking for it, but used for under 100k after a bit of depreciation would make this excellent!
Drive the new updated Alfa Romeo Stelvio quadrifoglio and compare them both Italian and I would like see which one you thinks better.
Well the Stelvio has double front wishbone suspension so that’s another.
11:00 double yellow eh?
You should never judge a sports coupe by the base model. If you would have driven the Ghibli S Q4 from 2014, you would have loved it. Better driving than the current Ghiblis. I had the first one delivered in NA and I loved it. But traded it for an Alfa QV, which I love more. I also have this Trofeo and it is amazing! Best Sports SUV on the market!
I thought Rob’s Corvettes were being taken away, that’s what he said in one of his latest video on here.
Is it worth twice the price of a Stelvio Quadrofolio?
Please drive a ghibli trofeo, it is what the ghibli should have been since day 1, same f154 ferrari engine, upgraded brakes, updated tech, rwd, 203 mph top speed, would like to hear your opinion. Thanks for all the great videos and information.
what road is this need to take my jag there
What Ferrari is the engine derived from ? GTS means what in Ferrari talk what car is that I’m sure someone knows
A modern Maserati that's actually good? Damn, now all they need to do is get the rest of their lineup in shape. Probably not a priority since pretty much everyone in the US only buys SUVs, but hey, maybe one day.
