You may want to increase or decrease while making a design. I used both increasing and decreasing in my Emerson Triangle Scarf pattern.

Hello! Thank you for the tutorial, it was very very clear!❤️ Can I increase in the middle of the row as well? What if I work a sc, dc, sc in the same stitch, or a dc, sc, dc in the same stitch? Would that work?

I think in order to work an increase in the center you'd have to increase twice back to back so a sc, dc, sc in one stitch and then a dc, sc, dc in the next.
