Both the licensing with Polaroid and the cards to represent the 3 Polaroid photos are the two reasons why the set costs $80.

@@smegalgaming The set has 359 pieces, but LEGO overpriced it to $84.99 with tax. LEGO did the same with The Hoopty which is also overpriced at $89.99 with 420 pieces and it's based on one of the worst MCU films in recent years, The Marvels.

I think this set is definitely interesting however I think the reason why this set costs $80 is because it has the brand name of Polaroid. My guess is that the price of this set includes a licensing fee.

@@abelruiz1996Well i didn’t and neither did plenty of people because i actually liked the set. It’s all to do with the fact it’s a branded name. Money is money who cares just don’t buy it 🤷🏻

I’m a Polaroid collector and shooter, so this is a day 1. The price is def unsavory, 50-60 bucks and this would fly off the shelf. However, I’m crossing my fingers that this opens the door for more Polaroid camera models (B-95, Sun 660, Spectra) and other camera types!

Love the set, I’m a big camera guy, and $80 isn’t actually a bad price when you look at a set like the T-6 shuttle

Would be great to see in future comparison of polaroid and creator 3in1. I wonder how they look like together, especially if 3in1 is not too small to be treated as replica.

Hi David. David here too. As a photographer and someone who sold these "back in the day" it looks great. Yes it is WAY overpriced. My real issue though, is the camera itself. If you know cameras (and I think you do) the original SX-70 was THE camera to get then (1976 I think). The "One Step" was essentially the poor man's SX-70, and while I like the functionality it's akin to making a Lego Porsche. Maybe they make a 914, but what we all really want is a Carrera Turbo.

I think it should be 50 to because some people like more real cameras and not lego. But still I would buy one.

I love this set, expensive for sure, but I especially love the pictures

Just noticed, this set includes a 6x6 printed tile. But I thought they couldn’t for the Venator? I know the design is all near the top of this 6x6 not the entire tile but just seems like a bad excuse now that Lego clearly CAN do it.

The fact that you can do buy an actual Polaroid camera for the same price is crazy, Lego should have done their research and made this a $50 set. Great work again solidbrix on the review!

Between this and the X-Men jet at $85 it's absurd. I even saw that new Duplo set called Big Feelings and Emotions is only a few blocky figs for $30.

One thing about Lego that bothers me more and more are the stickers. I noticed that even the new sticker on the round button is loosening up.

I can buy 3 packs of color SX-70 film for $80. Pretty cool concept though.

That's a shame! I had really high hopes for this set when I first heard about it last year. But $80 is a hard pill to swallow. I really want it but I will wait and hopefully get it on a good deal down the line.

the worst thing isnt even the price, its the fact that you can see all the random stupid colors through the cracks. weird colors inside Lego sets are bad enough, but if theyre hidden in the end its at least somewhat acceptable. Even at 40$ it wouldnt be a well designed set because of that

Awesome set, as photographer and lego fan I love it. however... One big reason I was looking forward to this was since it has 516 pieces, it would probably be around $50, and therefore pretty affordable Why is it $80? That's overpriced! It should be $50, at most $60. C'mon Lego, please stop charging ridiculously overpriced prices on some stuff for no apparent reason. I think I speak for most Lego fans that prices on some Lego sets make no sense, they are way too much. The best example is the hoopty set $90 for 420 pieces? It should cost half the price! There are unfortunately many more examples of sets that are $10, $20, or more over what makes sense. Enough is enough

The has to do with not only the set but licensing too, I think its a sick camera and it doesn't matter for the price tag on it as I love polaroid a lot, but to diss it like that when you don't understand what it's like to collect film camera's and to add this to the collection is cool.
