THE LEGEND OF ZELDA OCARINA OF TIME 20TH ANNIVERSARY - Happy Console Gamer
Ойындар
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 20th Anniversary is an action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. It was released in Japan and North America in November 1998, and in Europe and Australia the following month. Ocarina of Time is the fifth game in the Legend of Zelda series, and the first with 3D graphics. Originally developed for the 64DD peripheral, it was instead released on a 256-megabit (32-megabyte) cartridge, the largest-capacity cartridge Nintendo produced at that time.

NintendoCade Gaming Love it. Never had a chance to play this game as a kid for being just one year old back then, so I'm enjoying this today through my Wii U! The game is full - and I mean it - full of secrets to find. Think I know why everybody loved it.
I was 9 when OoT came out. It blew my mind and it made me a Zelda fan for life. My 7yo son just beat it a few days ago actually and hes also now hooked for life 👍

I decided to beat this game in regular then the masterquest mode on 3DS as a 3 heart run for both around this past Christmas. Good times.
For me Ocarina will allways be the greatest game ever made. The only people that will really understand why are the ones who played it at launch or in its time. I was 18 when played it and no other game has made me so obsessed since. There's been some greats like last of us and BOTW but Ocarina is the greatest for me and allways will be.

For me, some of the greatest games of all time are: Call of Duty 4, Minecraft, Sonic the Hedgehog, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario 64, GoldenEye 007, Street Fighter 2, Need for Speed: Underground, Aggressive Inline, Worms 3D, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, Tony Hawk's Underground, Ultimate Alliance, Spider-Man 2, Guitar Hero 2, LEGO: Star Wars, SSX Tricky, Kya: Dark Lineage, and RuneScape. I am getting an N64 soon and hope to get Ocarina of Time. I have seen a gold one for £35. Not sure if it's worth it at that price. Thoughts?

@@TheClassicWorld Retro Workshop well this is a while later so obviously may be too late, but that is a good price for an original gold N64 Ocarina of Time cartridge, at least from what I've seen perusing Ebay and the like (usually they run at least 2-3 times that much) That being said, I hope you found one and bought it so you can enjoy OoT. It's a wonderful game :)

I was 9 years old when Ocarina of Time was released, and I remember how big a deal it was. Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time changed the game industry, reinventing the wheel.
20 years already ????? Damn time flies fast, can someone give me an Ocarina, so i can teleport myself to the temple of time.

I love you guys, seriously. I grew up in this period, it was magical. Walking through chronic weather to get to my local mag shop, (3 mile round trip here in Wales) for my zx spectrum mags, then Nintendo, snes, etc over the years. Get home and read through them, jaw open at the stunning images of games to come. What makes oot more poignant for me is in my situation, my 'oot' friend, sadly took his own life many years ago, he was the one who could afford oot and a N64 first all those years before when it came out. I was mind blown, I couldn't believe what I was seeing, nothing else came close. Good times, good memories, and I love hearing guys like you gush over those sort of memories, I don't really have any friends left these days who are into gaming like me and you two, they're all far too normal 😂. Love the vids, never change 👌😁
My favorite game of All Time.
My first experience with Ocarina of Time was in early 1999. A friend let me borrow the game and his N64. And here’s the kicker... He lent me the strategy guide. But it wasn’t a normal guide. One of his other friends took the time to photo copy the entire guide. It was crazy big because he didn’t use both sides of the copy paper.
Ocarina of Time is my all time favorite game. I didn't get it when it first came out but I got it a little less than a year after (around Sept of 1999 I believe). I had originally rented it in early 1999, probably in February, after a friend of mine was saying "man you've got to play this game!!" And back then I had no idea what Zelda was and I was mixing up the title with that Viking Chess game back on the 64 because Zelda sounded Viking(ish) to me. Anyway he said "no man it's awesome, you've gotta play it!!" And so I did. I went to Blockbuster and rented it one weekend. I was blown completely away. I found that I was enjoying every aspect of the game. I remember going through the Deku Tree and just being amazed by everything I saw. A few months later I bugged my dad into buying me the Ocarina of Time Official Nintendo Power Player's Guide (which I still have) even though I didn't own the game. I was that in love with it. I rented it several more times and finally asked my grandparents if they'd get it for me. They agreed and I got it. I rushed to my room, popped it in the 64 and started my long journey!!! For the next 2 years that game was pretty much all I played, or well mainly what I played. I had beat it probably a few months after having it but I would go back again and again to the game doing extra stuff, collecting heart pieces, fighting Ganondorf over and over. To this day I still consider this to be my favorite in the series. I really enjoy the entire franchise but this game holds a very special place in my heart. It was a game that just absolutely meant the world to me. It was the first game with a real story that I played and it showed me what gaming could be apart from platformers like Sonic and Mario. This game actually made such an impact on me, that when I listen to the credits rolling, especially the version from ZREO as the Redux version, I tear up. I've played some amazing games in my life, FF7, FF8, Crono Trigger, and many many many more, and even they don't give me the same feeling as Ocarina of Time. Call me nostalgic or say that I'm a fanboy, but this game meant that much to me.
shit it been twenty years ?..........remember picking this up, it was sold out pretty much every where, we went to a small video game store & they had two copies left, managed to get one, great memorys, great game
I'm so grateful, to finally see you and Robman share your thoughts and memories with zelda ocarina of time, great video
I love this game with all my soul. I feel immensely emotional every time I replay it. It's my favorite videogame of all time and will always have a special place in my heart.
omg... can someone please make an animation of Johnny and Rob adventuring to Walmart and attempting to resist playing Zelda OoT? That would be hilarious.
I loved the video Johnny! I always love whenever we get to see Rob again as well. It used to be all the time lol I miss him being in so many videos. But I just wanted to say thank you for making and keeping up with the great, genuine content you produce. You guys are some of the coolest guys I’ve ever “met”, and I wanted to let you know, you’re videos make me very happy when I see them in my subscription box. Keep up the fantastic work Johnny, much love from Indiana
My heart! Ocarina of Time is still a unicorn to me. Perfection. So much to do, but not overly sandboxy. The soundtrack is one that I’ll listen to. Hell, today on Spotify, the soundtrack is all I’ll be listening to today. This game changed my gaming life. My Oma got it for me the Christmas it released. I played that til the wheels fell off. Man, such a beauty. The first boss scared me as a kid, it took me like 6 trys to finally get my courage up and beat that bastard. Then, as a kid, I thought I was done the game. THEN the whole world opens up. My fragile mind couldn’t believe it. So. Good. My fav in the series(I agree with you Rob) It was/is perfect. Thanks for bringing us down memory lane guys. Made my heart swell.
Another instant classic episode!!! Rob is the ideal Robin for Johnny's Batman.
Man this video makes me want to play this game again, thanks for sharing your memories, Johnny and Rob.
I’m a simple man...when I see Johnny and Robman in a thumbnail I click it
The music in Ocarina is amazing. I haven't played a game since where the music was so memorable.
Awesome memories, guys! Thanks for sharing! Great as always and can’t wait for the christmas special!

This channel is as much about the power of nostalgia and growing up in the '80s/'90s and the friends you had at the time as it is about video games. This is a good thing.
Johnny, the religious experiences and the passage of time with games is why I love this channel: Two things that I relate to deeply!
Just stumbled upon this channel today. You guys are fantastic to watch. Definitely one of my favorite now
The excitement of recalling your memories from back then makes me loves retro games even more, I can feel the glorious nostalgia through your stories.
These guys are so awesome! To see the love and excitement in a game goes beyond words! Ya'll have love and passion for the games you play and now you have a subscriber!! thanks and keep up the good work.
I love this video. It made me smile through the whole thing. It's stories about be being a gamer or a geek at a certain time, where it will never be that way again because if the internet. But then watching honest videos like this on KZread that are self created is a whole other time period for geeks. We don't even know each other but we all get a sense of who you are because of the videos you share. This may be the good old days in the future.
That snow storm you speak of in 1996 also hit NYC. I remember it vividly. It was a nightmare lol. I got the game on release day from Toys "R" Us in 1998 (I had reserved a copy) and binged played it snuggly in the warmth and confort of my home :) A great game and a great memory. You and Rob always hit the nail in the head when it comes to gaming nostalgia. Thanks for the upload.

Always nice to see the Rob Man.
I've only just recently been watching all of your content, but I'm absolutely in love with your enthusiasm towards video games. Thanks for this man, it helps me relive the wonderful video game memories of my past with others who feel the same.
I'm 20 now and i remember playing it when i was 3-4 its been just over 15 years for me i still play it.
You two always have such amazing stories to share. Seeing a new video like this after quite some time really put a smile on my face.
Experienced this game on the gamecube back in 2003. My two older brothers trying to get past the first dungeon, this game was such a surreal experience at the time.
I first played Ocarina of Time through the bonus disc that was distributed with preorders of The Wind Waker in 2003. I didn't actually first play it until July of 2013 when I found it in a second-hand game store. It took me a fairly long time just to get through the Spiritual Stone half of the game for some reason.
It’s so entertaining watching passionate gamers reminisce about the past. It brings me back man to a better time 😊
