In Episode 5 Allura mentions the Elven city of Syngorn just disappearing when the dragons attack

The idea of turning the little inside joke about the Vanessa Carlton song into two songs for the show is just pure Critical Role silliness and I love it.

The bird that was torn apart in the fey realm was based on Matt and Marisha's bird Dagon, who unfortunately passed away before this came out and Matt and Marisha had totally forgotten about this scene.

Percy in the Fey Realm is hilarious. The Fey Realm is a place a pure chaos, something that would sound cool to Percy but given that Percy is a very orderly and logical person would clash very hard with his mindset. he expects things to be exactly as they were in his books but that's not how a realm of chaos works. Vax is a champion of death walking through a realm of immortal beings, not surprising he gets seen as a hostile force. Have you noticed the show has made a point of showing that most members of Vox Machina don't have a high opinion of Scanlan and his worth to the team? He's actually stranded right now with the only two members that take him seriously.

Scanlan giving Keyleth shade about learning her spells is likely a little meta joke about Marisha (Keyleth) often forgetting how her spells function during campaign one.

Like she _didn't just_ learn how to transform into a Fire Elemental and travel between planes literally 2 episodes ago.

There's a fan-animated version of the walk through the fae grass by Ellie Vyle that's worth watching... that episode was filmed before a live audience, btw. Diplomacy originally resembled a steampunk version of an Iron Man glove, another product of Percy's tinkering. The satyr's drawing of Grog involved bugged eyes, buck teeth and a tiny penis. Of *course* they got Cheech to voice Trinket during the trip scene! Yeeaah, Syngorn wasn't in the fae realm when the twins were there; the 'high' elves did a *thing.* Craven Edge *can* get full, but it resets whenever its wielder sleeps, at which point there's a chance of it killing its wielder. Grog had gone without sleep to see how powerful it would get, which meant Travis had to roll twice and use the lowest roll; there's probably a video of it. They were able to bring Grog back, then plane-shifted Cravey to an island floating in the astral plane, where the chances of it being found are literally *astronomically* remote. Magic weapons are not so easily broken, especially when they date back to the age of arcanum. Grog suffered exhaustion, not a withering, and it's blatently obvious when he'll get his strength back; but I understand why they did it this way, and it does give us an opportunity to meet someone we might otherwise have missed...

Great voice cameos in this episode. Both Cheech Marin and Billy "Pippin" Boyd.

Funfacts: Percy's shock glove is named "Diplomacy" Getting rid of Craven Edge was a little different in the live game. Instead of Grog breaking it, it had taken Grog's soul on a bad roll, Percy intimidated it into giving the soul back, and the rest of Vox Machina convinced Grog to let Keyleth banish it to another plain of existence.

The realm of the Raven Queen is essentially the opposite of the Fey Realm in D&D lore. So a champion of hers wearing an artifact from her there is like wearing a Cowboys' jersey in Philadelphia.

"Makin' my way" started from the Vanessa Carlton song and it's one of their longest running "in-jokes" at this point. Every time someone says "make my way" at the table it gets a response kzread.info/dash/bejne/n5eduJWmkriTh9I.html

I love Vex's version of making my way, I need a 3 min long version. The previous episode and this one are maybe the ones that veer off the most from the game, and I think they did a great job making it work

BTW the little bird that got ripped apart at the beginning was supposed to be a nod to Matt and Marisha's bird Daegon. Unfortunately their bird passed a couple of months prior to the release of the episode, making the joke even more morbid than they intended.

When Scanlan said "Keyleth you really need to learn your spells." It's because....Marisha had ALOT of spells....and didn't always....read them? Caused a few mishaps in the game.

Taliesin, The Man Behind percy, basically said that Percy with the Fey wild is basically like any otaku American white guy with japan. They read all about it they're obsessed with it and then they go there thinking they know everything and get a bit of a culture shock

Percy in the Fay Relam is like the Anime Weeb who think they know exactly what Japan is like, then they go there.

To be fair to Vax his sister died like yesterday so you know cut him some slack for being a little pissy and upset at Percy
