The Kevdak fight is easily one of the best moments in the show and the campaign. Absolutely worth watching the original moment in the campaign.

Fun fact. If anyone else got the killing blow on Kevdak, the herd would NOT STOP and would kill them all. That was established by the DM. Lucky for them in the campaign it happened pretty much like in the show.

One of the best episodes of both seasons. The animators did a phenomenal job translating the actual fight to the screen. Sam Reigel once again provides a slamming jam, with Travis Willingham/Grog doing the chorus "RAGE RAGE RAGE" lol

The finish of the fight in the campaign pretty much happened just as in the show. Grog had 1 hit point which was why Vex put him in the Pokeball.

11:16 Fun fact, 'at dawn we plan' is a reference to the campaign. The episode before they fight Umbrasyl is titled 'At Dawn We Plan,' which was in turn a reference to something said at the table. They spent a lot of time planning for these big fights in the game, including having a group text where they would brainstorm between Thursdays. Of course, like most plans, the majority of their plans kind of dissolved once things started happening for real.

Yesss, been waiting for this one. Best episode of either season, in my opinion. That shot of percy on the roof with the fire behind him is one of the rawest animated shots I’ve ever seen

Oh man, I really hope you do another reaction to some of these moments from the campaign after this season, if only for that one last attack from the killbox. That was the hypest shit. And this episode really did it justice. Did I know I needed to hear Sam Riegel sing metal? No. Am I here for it? Hell yes.

That was both Scalan and Grog singing that song. Travis hitting low notes and Sam being Sam because he can sing really well.

In case you forgot, Scanlan is based on Eminem (same initials as Slim Shady). Matt named Kaylie after Hallie, Eminem's real life daughter.

This episode is awesome. :) The fight in the stream was a nearly 5 hour long brutal, nailbiting slog, with Kevdak taking half damage from everything Vox Machina could throw at him, *and* he had a healer on his side. Plus having to deal with the other herd members. Everyone was getting low on both spells and hitpoints when Laura/Vex'ahlia made that gamble with Grog in the Trinket trinket. Grog had 1HP left and went all in for the attack, and scored a critical hit on his second roll, killing Kevdak pretty much exactly like he did in the animation. It's one of the greatest fights in the whole first campaign and I wasn't sure the animation would be able to do it justice with so much shorter timeframe. But damn did Titmouse (and Sam) deliver. Music is awesome, the animation is top notch and even with Vox Machina fighting really well, doing combos and unleashing the powers of the vestiges it's still a tough fight. Props for making Kevdak cruel and ruthless, but also genuinely a good fighter and tough as nails. He takes full advantage of is greater strength, yes, but he doesn't rely only on that. He does fight smart. And yeah... Kaylie is Scanlan's past finally catching up with him. Scanlan indeed very likely has other kids scattered across Tal'dorei and other continents too. Kaylie was just the only one angry enough, and dedicated enough, to not give up her search for him until she bloody well found him. That's why the last episode was also a Scanlan episode. He just didn't know it at the time. ;)

Best episode of the season, epic fight, epic music, hilarious finish

this is def my favorite ep between the background we’ve learned about grog him standing up to his uncle more like and grog friendship moments and obviously the amazing fight +team work of all of Vox

The timing of this dropping on Father’s Day… impeccable. Somebody already pointed that out in the comments here but I just had to reiterate. Was waiting for this one for the ending alone.

1:55 - that insert made me laugh too hard! :DDDD This fight is so incredibly cool, and your emotions and worries for Grog and Pike gave me more chills than I expected. Wow. Except for the kill scene (because it`s awesome) I particularly love the flashback to Grog`s match with Groon. Eh, bad timing, the enemy of Vax and Kiki`s relationships. and YESS Kaylie reveal! Scanlan should brace himself for some lecturing, but I doubt it will help him to escape her anger. :DD Can`t wait for the next two! Thank you! (but at the same time... waiting for season 3 AND reactions? nooo!)

Great video!! Fun fact about gnomes in dnd: like many other long-lived species, they age just like humans but once they reach adulthood they sort of slow down (since they can live three centuries perfectly fine). That means that even though Scanlan looks young, he's actually old enough to have a daughter who is herself an adult 😂

Oh my god, I just saw they finally released the season 2 soundtrack a couple weeks ago!

3:27 Madison had the best reactions this episode. 4:16 loved the hype. 5:25 For your post season campaign vid reaction. I suggest a video called The Kevdak Fight Conclusion. It’s about 5 min. It shows the final drop lead up and moment. It was so epic.

This was the most anticipated fight of the chroma conclave arc, perhaps the entire campaign. The fight Grog wanted Craven Edge for. The fight they got Wil Wheaton to shake hands with Matt for, hoping his talent for rolling natural ones would be passed on. The challenge to single combat, the call to Vox Machina, the pokeball tactic and final blow, straight from the stream. At dawn we plan, we're all cows, also from the stream. Kaylie's reveal... there was no nudity or bondage, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was Sam's idea. VM started as a oneshot game, he had no experience playing, so he asked Liam what was the worst character he could ever play. Thus, the most disgusting little shit imaginable was born! Scanlan's songs are in the soundtracks, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's an album of his music when they move on to the Mighty Nein.

You’ve got to cover the song over these credits in your post-season wrap up

This was my favorite battle from the first campaign. The fight went poorly for them for a big chunk of it. You guys should check it out (episodes 51-52) It's a good example of how exciting and immersive tabletop gaming can be. Great reaction as always.

This episode is a solid 10/10 Vox machina Let's F***shit Up!!!!

I definitely recommend seeing a game-to-show comparison for that final hit on Kevdak. The players just _erupting_ still gives me adrenaline.

Grog reminds me of Kratos from God of War, the way he went berserk and fought Kevdak even though he was weak and got skewered on a stake. Grog is a badass this season!

Vex after taking down the Demon in Season 1. 'Thats the most fucked up thing I've ever seen, and I hang out with Scanlan. Kylie Season 2 Hold My Beer.

I guess I’m not the only one who tears up when their friends show up. 👍

Pike and Keylieth don't need vestiges. They are already leveled up. Scanlen had the sword but the dragon took it, Vex has the bow and Vax has the armor. Ofcourse Grog has the gauntlets now. So there is only 4 vestiges as we know of. There could be more but we don't know. Percy could use an upgraded gun or something. But who knows he's an inventor and could make something bad ass in a future episode.

With ancient dragons, they need as many vestiges as they can get. 😂 Pike and Keyleth aren't at a place of "don't need vestiges."

@@ShadowyFox_86 Keyleth is still in training, she's still learning, and is getting better. She's like the Avatar but better. As for Pike, well we've seen what Pike can do in Season 1. She's really amazing. She has the Everlight and doesn't need a Vestige. But we'll see if there is something for Percy in Season 3.

@@CallistoTheWarriorQueen Did you miss episode 5? Keyleth doesn't need a vestige, she is already extremely powerful. She still has alot to learn and she has to master Earth and Water yet. We'll see her evolve more in season 3. Pike is already amazing, and can handler her own. Maybe she will get a vestige in season 3 but we'll see. It's Percy that needs a new gun or weapon. Like whatever the vestige is, he can apply it to an invention of his and make it even more crazy powerful. Scalen has the myth carver sword so he's all set along with Vex, Vax, and Grog.

​@@Bigsteelguy4Keyleth definitely has the potential to be incredibly powerful. But against an ancient dragon? No. She's a tank. But any single one of those dragons is a nuke. They all need vestiges to have a chance against the dragons. SPOILERS for episode 12 Her fire elemental form doesn't last a single bite from the dragon.

Fun fact she 100% was trying to kill him. But Matt believes in letting the dice tell the story. When she rolled to attack he rolled a natural 1 to hit. So he interpreted that as her not being able to actually kill Scanlan, instead of her swinging the blade and missing her target.

It's funny because Scanlan's Natural 20 on his Persuasion would've prevented her from even rolling said attack....until he gave her free reign to stab him. 😂 That Nat 1 was his saving grace.
