I've followed Greg since his UH days when I was attending from 2010-14, there was still a bias on dual-threat QBs that weren't tall enough. I love my school, but if Greg was in a P5 program like a Big 12 or SEC school he would have had much more draft potential. So happy for the guy right now though.

I'm a Louisville Cardinal fan, and I can say that this guy was the best quarterback we played all season. (including Deshaun Watson) This guy deserves a lot more recognition than he's getting. I wish the Heisman trophy was based on talent rather than hype, because he deserves to be on that list.

They have changed the way they vote for the Heisman since the 1980's and 1990's. For example, Andre Ware would not win the Heisman now because his team wasn't a national title contender. Now, it's seems very unlikely that a player outside of the "Power 5" conferences will get any serious consideration for the Heisman unless an extremely special player comes along. Perhaps Ward, Jr can be that player!

What drives me crazy after watching this is remembering what this team lost because Tom Herman was too busy leveraging offers for more money when he leaves at the end of the season, instead of focusing on his team and their goals. This team should have been the first G5 team to make it to the playoffs and that was largely possible because Greg Ward Jr was the best playmaker at that time in college football. He beat Baker Mayfield, Lamar Jackson, and even Patrick Mahomes in high school. Unfortunately his unbelievable athleticism hasn’t been on display enough because experts think he’s too small.

I think the NFL will try to start more dual-threat QBs, either as a role they play intermittently(Taysom Hill) or as full-on positions. I've followed Ward since he started at UH in 2014, if someone were to pick him up, or if the Eagle's give him a shot at QB I know he'll succeed. Dude is all heart. He may actually need to lose a little weight to get back to his college weight so he can be as shifty as he was and burst from a cut to a sprint like he used to.

He was a couple years too early, still not sure he has a shot though as a die-hard Greg Ward/UofH fan I'd love to see it. Reason being is he doesn't have the height; he's 5'10. Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson are 6'2, Cam Newton at 6'5. He was a great play-caller and his ability to scramble and make a play out of nothing or make a big play out of a designed run was great but the Eagles are doing exactly what our coaching staff did wrong; beef him up to prevent the risk of injury. Dude can be back in his old form if they let him play like he used to.

Ryan Jacobs it’s not cause he’s black it’s because he’s a mainly mobile qb who was considered a heavy risk based on the fact that he might not last like what happened to RGIII. That’s also why Lamar fell so deep and considering the fact that Greg ward had more rushing touchdowns than passing makes teams look at him as less of a qb and more of an athlete. It had nothing to do with race but with the questioning of his ability to last considering teams like to draft their franchise guy, and by having such an injury risk it’s impossible to be that guy
