If someone asks Derek, "How can you play this sport after what happened to your grandfather?" he should reply, "If your grandfather was paralyzed in a automobile accident or even killed, would that stop you from driving a car? I don't think it would" What happened to his grandpa Darryl happens to people vacationing at the beach or even to people like Christopher Reeves riding horses. Covid-19 was a factor for one. The injury to his Lisfranc was another. He made it worst by trying to play. But perhaps another reason for that is because the offense respected him too much. He had 97 passes thrown in his direction as a freshman. As a sophomore, that number decreased to 30. It wasn’t that he underperformed, but opponents didn’t take as many chances as they wanted to like they did as a freshman. He should be a great player in the NFL.

The broncos r gonna draft him with the 9th pick watch if they don’t get Rodgers or Wilson or Watson then he’ll be next to surtain and Justin simmions and Bryce idk who’s stopping that defense n then he’ll get revenge on da raiders

Very similar prospect to Greedy Williams, very solid cover corner especially in Man. But has massive deficiencies when it comes to tackling and that ultimately dropped Greedy's stock from a top 15 pick to a mid 2nd.

Lmao I’d bet money your team is either Georgia, Florida or Texas who he played a huge part in beating. At 17 going into 18 his freshman year was his base of football and he was the best corner hands down in college that year. His base is better than mosts best. Hater🤣

That his base of playing at that young was what made him the best corner in college football that year? His base is better than 85% of most db’s best? Dude gunna be a #1 corner in the nfl . Wasnt just him but all of LSU flopped, made him look 10 times worse but he has the basics to build quickly and adapt on the go. Don’t hate, overrated is someone who just really aren’t good.
