This short series (7 episodes) was made 12 years after Leonard Rossiter's death - but everyone else from the original cast (except the actor who played Tony Webster) is present.

I did not get to where I am today by taking a quick peek at the X-Files while watching The Legacy of Reginald Perrin

I've never watched anything with dead relatives, great memory for you watching this with your late grandfather, didn't he smell by episode 7?

Gail Raby Nice try, but unfunny. A bit insensitive. Much like this uninspired series.

This is an enjoyable watch, but there’s no getting away from the fact that by 1996 (when this was first aired) that Geoffrey Palmer comes over more like Lionel Hardcastle from As Time Goes By, than he does as Jimmy Anderson in the original series of Reggie. However, if you watch him in Fairly Secret Army from the 80s, he’s almost a carbon copy of Jimmy, despite being a completely different character. It was also written by David Nobbs.

That’s due to age. He was also more like Jimmy when he played Dr Price on the Fawlty Towers episode ‘The Kipper and the Corpse’- but more like Lionel in what I think would’ve been one of his last roles, Alex’s father Martin in ‘Rev’.

But how we all miss dear Reggie,...he didn't get to be where he is today without dying.
