It seems that Sunshine Desserts' jellies bounced the company back in to profit. I didn't get where I am today without Sunshine Desserts' jellies bouncing the company back in to profit!

This show wasn't shown on TV in Australia and I have just discovered it, saw the original which mostly went over my head as I was too young. We do get a lot of British TV but not this which is a shame, come on ABC get with it. Leonard Rossiter is a hard act to follow , Martin Clunes does a great job and with the exception of the "why reggie is late" lines the jokes are up to date and original.

We watched this first and are currently watching the original (my parents had already seen both) and I think both have their merits. This is more screwball, the original was more dramatic with Reggie's breakdown.

Had never been exposed to this, or the “original” version so many talk about in the comments below, before today! Don’t understand why so many are so critical! I think it’s funny, witty, intelligent, etc.

Didn’t even know there was a remake. I prefer the Leonard Rossiter one but this is okay too

Very funny . As a former commuter to an office job this hits the target. Brilliant.

There is one good thing about this series: it's so awful that I went out and bought the box set of the originals with the late, great Leonard Rossiter.

I like Martin Clunes in 'Men behaving badly' and 'Doc. Martin', but not sure that he is really suitable for this show, because it keeps reminding me of Leonard Rossiter, the original. The same is 'Minder' when Dennis packed in playing Terry, in 1994, and then the show was brought back with Shane Richie playing his part in 2008. These remakes never really work, because the originals played for many years, and people got used to them. Also just as bad, is the BBC bringing in a remake of some 3 lost episodes by new characters..........and I doubt it will work either.

Martin Clunes is great, but the laugh track ruins this version. I would stick to the older one (1976), where the fake laughs are not quite so loud and frequent.

agree with puppi3000 - this is mildly amusing but I remember the original as funnier. Maybe puppi3000 can help?

No, the lead actor is Martin Clunes. Sarah Alexander is married to Peter Serafinowicz.

It's much more formulaic and dull than the original. Feels very normal, the original was a snappy farce with real rage underneath, this is flat and tired.

Not sure why you would want to remake a classic??? This was incredibly misconceived and very unfunny🤦

I love the original and have put off bothering with an unnecessary remake, I'll continue watching this episode but won't see any more.

Pathetic, Sacrilege. Leo Rossiter would turn in his grave and David was still young in 2009 and needed the money he sold his masterpiece for on this treachery.

Never actually seen this before. Old format meets Men Behaving Badly. Nothing wrong with Martins performance but just a thinly reworked plot.

Is Martin Clunes the only actor on British television? He seems to be everywhere. There is such a thing as overexposure. Give the younger actors some work.

Shocking remake not funny at all should never have been made. Has not got a touch on the original series which was brilliant.This version is just total boring PC modern day crap.

I prefer the original, but this is good, it's just hard not to compare all the time. The only thing which really annoys me is the dreadful canned laughter.

The laughter track is over the top, "i wont" is amusing not funny it doesn't merit a big laugh.
