Chuck, thank you and Weaver for these videos. I have learned so much from you as I begin my journey into leather crafting. It was because of these video that I placed my first order from Weaver this morning. I’ve purchased from a somewhat local Tandy store but wanted to give Weaver a try, at least in part as a “thank you” for all of your teaching.

A wing divider is essential in my shop. I use it on almost every project. Thanks for another great video Chuck. Also, I'm not sure if I have mentioned it yet or not, but I love the cover of the maker's guide. The graphic arts is great with your hard head cracking the table top. Awesome.

Leather element idea? This might be a dumb question - forgive the newbie! I am wondering how to set the proper order of operations when it comes to burnishing, punching, dying, tooling, etc..

I'd say a wing divider is an essential leather craft tool. I use mine every day and it doesn't cost very much

Idea here. I always have a hard time trying to figure out a good way to keep my shop cleaned and organized. Was wondering if there can be a video on how to maintain good shop organization and cleanliness.

Hi Chuck! I really enjoy these videos...I've learned a bunch of new techniques! Recently, I was "gifted" a box from an attic, and found several rolled up pieces of leather. Looks like maybe sides. Anyway, the leather appears to have dried out over the years. Is there any way to "re-hydrate" these pieces? I'd hate to just throw them away...

I use my Wing Divider on round edges a lot more then the edge tool. Using the edger on rounding edges is tough to get it accurate.

To answer my own question, I am brand new, and the one tip I wish I had not ignored was the use of Grip Tape on my ruler and square. I am a large, pretty strong guy, and didn't think I would have any problem holding the square down to prevent the leather shifting while I was cutting it, WRONG! Buy grip tape! lol
