    A tip I discovered for this method, if the lace is still curling more than you'd like for the application at hand after you've tried to stretch it straight by hand, you can lightly wet the lace by running a damp cloth over it, loop it over a curtain rod, and tie the ends to something with a little weight like a tool or water bottle or whatever. Let it hang for an hour or so and it'll come off straight as an arrow.

    I like that!!! I have the bench mount lace maker you used for the impossible braid bracelet, and I love it but this is a really nice tool. Thank you for sharing. I am starting a new project making slippers for my 1 year old niece. I have patterns but a video covering that would be nice. I haven't do e any foot wear yet. So a little intimidated. When these turn out I want to scale up for adult size

    Hello again from Down Under, Chuck. A request if I may- I'm waiting on delivery of a side of leather which I intend to use to make a heavy blacksmith apron. I want to use a fairly wide Y strap down to a cross piece on the back rather than a simple strap around my neck. Apparently the Y strap transfers a lot of the weight to your hips rather than your neck. I would love to see your take on this- and I need you to show me how to do it:) What say you Oh Wise One? :) Thanks mate. Jay.

    Hey Chuck, can you do a video on sewing a veg tan tool pouch inside out and turning it right side out?

  • @WeaverLeatherSupply

    @WeaverLeatherSupply

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Jesse, We do not have a video on this, but we can definitely mention it to Chuck. To sew and turn veg tan leather, you'll have to use a pretty light weight unless its a softer or milled veg tan. Especially if the bag is small.

    Question for the leather element: How can you dye leather grey? I am trying for gun metal and slate. I can find grey paint but can't find grey leather dye. Thank you.

  • @WeaverLeatherSupply

    @WeaverLeatherSupply

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi there, Unfortunately I don't have a good answer for you on this. I'm not aware of any gray dyes available and the reason being is because there is no white dye. Acrylic is going to be your best bet for this.

  • @WeaverLeatherSupply

    It would have to be wet ad even then it would make it tough to control so it's probably not going to work very well for rawhide

  • @richardkatzman1215

    All you need is you kitchen oven. Wet your leather, place it in you over on the middle rack and set your oven for 350 degrees and set your timer for 30 minutes. The leather is going to be VERY HOT so use an oven mitten 7:19 to take it out. The bigger problem, explaining to your wife why the oven smells like cooked leather until the smell wears off. Hence, your food may taste like cooked leather. Good luck with that!

  • @WeaverLeatherSupply

    @WeaverLeatherSupply

    Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately using a lighter dye color on a dark leather will dye it darker or the color will stay the same.

    Probably the most frustrating tool to use. I don't know why it's not working. It will cut around 3cm lace but it doesn't pull through as it cuts off. I'm using leather 2mm thick.
