During my initial interview with the priest about joining the Orthodox church, he asked me what attracted me to the Church, and it took every ounce of control to not answer with "the hats"...

Same sort of thing here, the priest asked me how familiar I was with Orthodox theology and it took every bit of control to not reply with "perhaps not to the extent that you are."

I'm Russian Orthodox, and I can confirm that the headgear is a huge selling point to new converts. Of course, there's no such thing as "Latvian Orthodox," which no doubt was done on purpose, but the priest at 2:30 is what almost every foreign born priest in America sounds and looks like.

Thanks for the comment, but according to the DVD Behind the scenes, there actually is a religion called the Latvian Orthodox. Apparently the people of that religion thanked Larry and Jerry for promoting their small religion, but none of the writers knew it was a real thing either.

@@seinfeldclips Its Autocephaly status has not been recognized by other Orthodox churches, so within Orthodoxy its not its own church. It would still be seen under the ROS (Russian). So its not a real church in the way the Orthodox sees it. God bless and thanks for the video!

Actually yes there is. My mother was a Latvian Orthodox. It just means the liturgies are done in Latvian, but it's related to the other Orthodox churches. This was comedy, but if anyone thinks that it's what it is, you're stupid
