The Latino influence in Country Music

Latino influence runs deep in country music, even though it might not always be readily apparent.
Do you know thanks to our friends in Mexico, many in the US heard country music on the radio for the first time, in the 1930's, as "Border blaster" radio stations in the Mexico pumped in country tunes deep into the U.S.A.
Roots in the West: The very image of the cowboy and the romanticized Wild West owe a debt to Mexican vaqueros, the original horse-mounted cattle herders. Their traditions and music blended with European folk styles to form the foundation of country music.
Modern Country Latino: Today, there's a resurgence of interest in Latino roots within country music. Artists are blending elements of Latin music with country styles, creating a vibrant "Country Latino" movement.
So, the next time you hear a twangy guitar or a heartfelt country ballad, remember the Latino influence that helped shape this beloved genre.

@@CountryMusicTimeMachine I just remembered some things. Flaco that I mentioned is the go to artist that other country artists to play on their songs like The Mavericks' hit Dance The Night Away, I think Merle Haggard's song that you mentioned and the likes. Jose Felician spelling that did that Christmas song and played a lot on country radio. Dianna the Latino country singer that I mentioned had the viral TikTok song called Calm Down Karen which was making fun of women who made a fool of themselves in public screaming at people and all that. One number 1 artist recently who have some Puerto Rican blood in him is Scotty McCreery. I completely forgot I read the article that he said he is part Puerto Rican so yes, Latinos are still hitting number one.
