The Late-Night Remote: Best Improvisational Host
Комедия
As Conan O'Brien leaves TBS, I feel as though this was a great way to celebrate his impressive and well-known abilities as an improvisational late-night host. I've always thought he stood out from the rest, and I hope this video does justice in explaining why. There was a lot I didn't cover, but tell me your thoughts in the comments!

Conan is the King of Remotes indeed. His natural ability for improvisation, his selfdepricating humor and his impecable comedic timing make him the best ever.
No other tv personality can go around the world and make people from all walks of life smile and laugh. Conan is King
Conan is the reason I have a sense of humor. I’m glad you made this video.

Great video! One of the things I love most about Conan is how he is always the butt of the joke. He puts himself down instead of others (except for Jordan...) and it makes him more likable. Looking forward to this channels future!

Yes! Anyone looking to be funny ought to take note from him - also, thank you very much!
Conan is just the GOAT. period. He took us to a place every night where we didn't have to worry about politics or how messed up the world was. We could all just laugh together. I really miss it.
Johnny's heir was Dave, Dave's is Conan. Well done!
He is so funny, Conan could walk up to someone and starts making comedy gold. But it never feels disrespectful in anyway, which is the best part. I love his goofy comedy style.
Conan. Improv master. Greatest host in my book.
King Conan. I remember my grandfather being a huge Leno fan when I was a kid. I’d like to hear what he has to say nowadays.
First of all, this is my new favorite KZread channel, and second i love how someone loves Conan as much as I do. You should check out Conan O'Brien can't stop and the "scraps" clips on KZread, which are the rehearsal outtakes of the show.

@@user-bn7rc9uv1m That genuinely means a lot to me! I focus quite a bit on the editing
Conan O Brien is easily one of the Top 10 People living on the planet right now.
Conan's skills of both comedy and humanity were exemplified during is segment in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He proved that even when things were tense with that woman, he was able to use self-depreciation and understanding to join the Haitian community for that moment.
Huge shout out needs to be given to Conan's editors - any filmmaker knows how hard of a job it is, and it's thanks to their skills going through often hours or even days of footage that the remotes are executed so well for the audience 👏👏👏
Conan remotes are legendary..specially the ones where he travels to other countries and interacts with the locals..no other hosts come even close to his materials..
Conan is the remote legend. Every host has their viral video hit thing, Fallon has silly games, Kimmel has Mean Tweets, Colbert with his scathing political monologues, Seth has A Closer Look, Corden has Carpool Karaoke... But conan's viral hits were his remotes. Just him, being silly with strangers, with all of his excellent hilarious timing and wit. Conan is king, period.
I was surprised to see this video have under a 100 000 views

So kind of you - thank you! Those kinds of numbers on my second video would be fantastic, haha
I love Conan so much. He never fails to get a genuine laugh out of me :)
Letterman was an innovator & Conan perfected the concept of the remote. The reason I lean more towards Conan is because he's never comes out as mean spirited. He's always willing to be the butt of the joke. While Letterman ; who is incredibly funny as well, more often than felt like he believed he was bigger than you & came up as a creep & pompous ass. At least that's how it came across to me. Love them both tho 😅
I’m excited to follow this channel! Can you do a video about Dave Attells Skanks for the Memories and the way he leads the listener on a wild tale every joke. I can help write it and find examples!

Good idea, I've always thought of Dave Attell as a "comedian's comedian." I have quite the list of videos I plan to do and I'll have to add this one into my notes! Although in all actuality, it would be some time before I got to this one specifically
YES dude this is absolutely great stuff, put it into my veins lol. I also forgot how much I love Conan, I sorta stopped paying attention to him years ago, and I don't know why, so I need to fix that!

Your kind words are much much appreciated! I believe as subjective as comedy is, it's not at all bold to say that Conan is a particularly great comedic mind in late-night
Conan is unique. Could watch his remotes in a loop 😊
Love that you decided to focus on the best of the best rather than the worst of the worst (like so many other Late Night video essays).
Its pretty much fair to say you make your videos perfectly. The clip placement, title animation spots and their timing; the writing is ideal as well.
This is why everybody loves Conan, One of, if not the greatest Comedians to grace this planet
I can't believe this show has only 1.28k subscriber. Your video quality is great.
Conan doesn't have a large ego like a lot of stars. He makes more fun of himself then he does of others and when he does make fun of others you know he's kidding. Also when a fan asked him a serious question about her mental health he answered her seriously and respectfully. He threw a little humor in but it wasn't sarcastic or aimed at her.
Noone and I mean noone comes close to being What Conan is. He is simply so graceful yet so uninhibited. He is so good. He is funny.
loved the remote joke at the start!
Thank you for this! Keep it coming.

@@BITSandTHESIS I kind of wonder why Conan's show failed in the past decade. His clips are utterly welcomed on KZread but I find that his popularity and viewership declined that he must downsize and eventually ended CONAN. Is his kind of comedy just not fit for TV or late night? Or something else? I recently watched a lot of his late night bits, his show was chaotic, crazy, silly and funny shit, and himself was definitely sharper and purer. What he does today, including running a media company and supporting many kinds of contents, is equally impressive but it's just different. I bet he misses the Late Night period a lot.

I think the reasons as to why the show was cancelled are multifaceted. The late night format, especially when it appears on television, is a dying dinosaur. Actually, Conan's executive producer, Jeff Ross, called it just that - a dinosaur. Ratings for all late night shows on TV are going down fast. Also, much of Conan's audience is young, and the younger you are the less likely you are to watch television. Instead, you might watch the shorter clips seen on KZread. Conan's popularity has grown greatly over the years, just not with the kind of people who flip through TV channels at night. Also, TBS reformatting Conan to a shorter show did not boost ratings like they had hoped - it may have hurt ratings, actually. Conan's move to streaming will serve his audience better, I think. I loved him on TBS (and NBC), but I'm looking forward to whatever he does now. _(Let's not forget that Conan is still doing Conan Without Borders!)_
Great analysis there, Bits!

We all know Conan was the obvious winner, but I would've loved for you to have gone more in depth with Letterman's remotes & the history behind them. Instead, this felt a little too rushed. Sometimes, it's not about the destination, but the journey we take to get their.
Letterman and Conan are my personal favorites

Thanks for the suggestion! In a roundabout way, my next video could apply to the kind of silly, improvised humor Conan is known for. There’s no real mention of him (so far) in it, but so much of comedy overlaps - I think you’ll enjoy it
Conan was my favourite late night, Dave was the goat. Although Kimmel sucks, the Guillemot remotes were hilarious
My favorite talk show host on American TV is Craig Ferguson. He doesn't even use notes in his interviews. In general my no. 1 is Graham Norton. Conan comes 3rd as he does great remotes. 4th is James Corden because he also has good remotes.
Having Kimmel and Fallon on the graphic is a disgrace
Conan is the best and forget the rest!
I think Jeff Goldblum referenced this video - kzread.info/dash/bejne/oIWpsZKFis-TqtI.html
