@@barneyy6942 NBC basically screwed Conan over so bad they put it in his severance contract he couldn’t talk about it for a year on TV. Basically they gave Conan the Tonight Show, then tried to take it away. So Conan left network TV and went to TBS after his year was up. He also went on an epic tour with the awesome name “Legally Prohibited from being Funny on Television” tour.

This Conan guy's really good at this, he should try hosting a talk show.

There was one who posted about Stephen Colbert and Conan a few months ago, and also I remember a video about Ellen's Oscar selfie and it was a way bigger channel. But I can't find those videos anywhere.

A perfect example of having a connection in communication. The flow and teamwork was amazing and beautiful

they seem to be the antithesis of each other and that's why they're friends lol

Conan oozes goodness of the heart and humility of the mind. Harvard has paid well. That he is witty, can sing, play and write is bonus. Essentially, he is a good man and that was probably enough to strike good conversations with people for decades. People speak to him with warmth of love and adoration not with awe and fear. PS I absolutely love his music and listening to him when he is more serious.

Conan had his chance. Unfortunately he's only funny/talented enough for the 12:35 AM slot on a major network/11:35 PM on basic cable.

@@TelephoneToughGuy Seven mos isn't much of a chance...Especially when Leno was his lead-in for many of em. Also, Leno's ratings were in the tank his first few yrs hosting TTS, so...

Conan sitting there is literally the perfect fit, it's like Cinderella's shoe.

John Duke Colbert doesn’t deserve to be in the same room as Conan. Colbert is basically a political commentator at this point that tries to be funny, Conan is a comedian that doesn’t need trump in office to be considered funny.

John Duke ...you don’t get high to like Conan’s comedy. You get high just by watching his comedy.

Why I do I love Conan so much. Like the funniest host ever.

Conan seems so much happier. It makes me really glad to see this after all the crap hes been through with Leno and probably his own show.

Conan, Colbert and Carell walk in to a bar. And immediately there is peace on Earth.

@Eric Burkheimer Steve Allen was the first host of the Tonight franchise and was the first of the late night interviewers. Letterman's show was more of a variety program.

Eric Burkheimer Carson preferred Letterman, NBC preferred Leno - so Carson didn’t skip Letterman, NBC made the call. Carson stayed more loyal to Letterman over the subsequent years.

I actually thought "how old are you Stephen?"

The only two comedians to actually make me laugh, i have so much respect for both.

No one in late night television has made laugh more than Conan. He is up there with Letterman in TV history.

Haven't seen Conan this happy in a while.

I just heard Conan’s podcast interview with Stephen, man it was so good. This is an extension of that podcast. I wish they had a show together where they just talk.

I wish Conan and Stephen would just casually join each other’s show once a month or something, have a conversation like this and interview a special guest or something. That’d be absolutely amazeballs. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Watching this during this quarantine makes me want to ask him if he's okay...

Please give him a network primetime show. He's born for it

Flipped interviews are my favorite thing and it always shocks me they end so quickly. When we get to the end it always feels like it just started.

It's crazy how so many elements of this episode foreshadow 2020...

This shows how much better a talk show host Conan is than anyone. Ever.

“You’ll get a gig [forced laugh] network is easy !” 🤷🏻‍♂️ [nervous chuckle] There’s so much truth here.

Two completely different but equally brilliant people. Putting them together makes for awesome television. Do this more often. And throw Craig Ferguson in as well.

Love the fact Conan quickly stood up when he was just about to sit down after he noticed that Stephen didn't sit down still. Respect.

I just watched Conan's video for Harvard, where he speaks of his graduation thesis and experience as an alumni, and it was brilliant. Truly, incredibly smart comedian.
