i used to think the phrase "until the last ukrainian" was just figurative, perhaps on exagerration, a tactic designed to scare the russians into thinking ukraine will never give up, and that it's better if they stopped this war
now.. i'm beginning to see a different reality
it's dawning on me that "until the last ukrainian" may be an actual future reality
i'm going to title this video "the last ukrainian" because i think that's what we're going to have
ukraine as a state is progressively and inexorably headed towards extinction
i would venture to guess that by the end of this conflict more than a million ukrainians will be dead and wounded, if it hasn't happened already.. we may even talk about two million or more; i think the russians would have lost a tenth of that amount, if not less
the russians will take over much of the land to east of the dnieper and perhaps more, and odessa.. poland and romania will occupy lands to the west.. and whatever rump state that is left (which may not even happen) is some kind of neutral zone..
perhaps i shouldn't be so sad.. maybe what is happening here is historical correction
maybe it was a mistake to give ukraine statehood.. and ukraine was never a state anyway..
so ukraine ending is just history taking its inevitable course
the last ukrainian.. to a country that is just a fleeting historical memory
