FERRARI 488 PISTA REVIEW! - I was not expecting this!!…Since reviewing this awesome 488 Pista I now believe it to be the Last True Special Edition Supercar that Ferrari will ever build! This will be a contentious viewpoint but watch the video first and then let me know your thoughts!

    458 is an all time great, i agree the cleaner lines makes it perhaps the last modern classic Ferrari with a real V8 NA engine 😇

    Rear camera viewing hack: Flip the whole rear view camera housing upside-down. This will/should resolve the downside of the rear camera viewing on the display screen you were mentioning in your video.

    How would flipping the camera resolve the issue when the issue is because the camera lens is placed too low to the ground?

    @RichReviews_ rotate the housing so the camera lens is positioned on top of the housing mount rather than positioned at the bottom (original mount). Giving the camera lens a higher viewing position than what it previously was mount at.

    @RichReviews_ I believe it's just 4 screws (one in each corner) that hold the camera housing in place.

    Ah yes placing it above the rear brake light LEDs as opposed to the bottom...this would definitely be better but probably still nowhere near as practical as placing above the rear numberplate as they did with the earlier cars. I feel here that Ferrari fell foul of form over function.

    488 blows away a 458 in every objective measure. Don't get the love in with 458, it's an old car now and not worth the overhyped prices IMHO

    @RichReviews_ yeah prefer sound and throttle response of 458 but ferrari have done good job minimising turbo lag with 488. Performance, handling and build quality are all better in 488. 458 feels slow and dated now. Great car but not worth the extortionate prices IMHO 488 is far better value overall

    For me the soul of the 458 wins out, unless we’re talking about the Pista and then I’d still prefer the Speciale

    If it is noise you like, why not just have a 355 with a stick? Much nicer looking and engaging. Pista just amazing

    as beautiful as it is, for £300k (the average price for one of these used now) I would expect a far more engaging drive and sound.. Sound!!! it sounds pants unfortunately compared to our NA beauty. You can get a speciale for the same money! I know which I'd rather have

    I understand your point but a comparable good spec Pista is circa 50k-70k cheaper than a comparable Speciale.

    @@RichReviews_ the market ofr pista seems to be in a strange place at the moment as well I noticed the same 30 or so have been on the market for absolutely ages, very rare to see any with any kind of milage on them which I suppose is expected for a special edition version of a ferrari but still I would be nervous to buy one at full price and actually not be able to use it... the market seems far too sesnsitive to milage whereas the speciale, far less fear, there are a good amount of miles on some of them and doesnt seem to hit the price too much at all.

    True, however it must be considered that the speciale is much more ‘hyped’ with the NA engine and there would be more mileage on speciales as they are roughly 5 years older. There are some very well specced pistas with 3-6k miles sitting around the 300k mark and comparable speciales are 350.

    I have a Pista you really need to get it on a track to get the best out of it. Saying that I am quite happy driving to the shops in it 😂. Good point on the rear view camera…

    Much better than a 458. If it is noise you are after or the last of blah blah blah, save money, save some points on your licence and buy a manual 355: lots of noise and enjoyment. For anything else Pista please.

    With the price difference between a 355 and a speciale, you can afford to pay for a few servicing issues…458 is great but not the finished article. Pista sound of turbo is also intoxicating, and you can always put an aftermarket exhaust if you want it to be louder. So for involvement/noise buy a manual 355, for performance buy a Pista?

    As signore Ferrari himself said, the next one is better…The facelift of the 308 was the 328, 355 after the 348, 430 after the 360 and 488 after the 458, and even if it can be subjective, they were just better cars. I think Pista was the apex, the most they could achieve and Ferrari then had to look in an other direction (hybrid) soon after. Both are great cars, enjoy what you prefer in good health and keep the good reviews.

    Disagree...Enzo's statement was a generic one...there are always exceptions to the rule and as such a very good reason why 488's are now around the same value as 458's and indeed 458's are currently in high demand...such that some main Ferrari dealerships have put out campaigns to request owners if they are willing to sell because they are low on stock!
