As a R5 3500U + Vega 8 user, I have the same problem. On some games, especially with V-Sync ON, both CPU and GPU clock speeds and usage are rock bottom and the FPS never get past 30. Both temps never get past above 55 celsius either. Sometimes it fixes when I disable V-Sync, but on some games with forced V-Sync it's a big trouble. I can't even play Terraria which ran so well on my 12 y/o PC. AMD indeed DOES release new drivers but literally ALL of them are focused on RX 6000/7000 series. I haven't seen any changelog mentioning "Vega APU" for over a year. It's so annoying that they never care about low end users.

The RX 500 series of GPUs received zero optimizations for this game in both code level and driver level, and it shows. I wouldn’t be surprised if all AMD GPUs older than RDNA 1 were left with unoptimized code.

I used to have this Driver Crash problem in other games, I solved it by simply reinstalling AMD Drivers in "Minimal Mode". Since then I never had to worry again

Yes, minimal install is good too if you don't need other features. Itz best balance between full install which gonna install all the bloats and driver only wicis not ideal since you can't tweak all the settings. So minimal install is best.

I saw many of your videos, and I was really interested on this one because, was one of my cards which I gave as a gift to my brother, I think this is because they "fix" the long shader compilation, making some shaders compiled during the game, I notice this on my actual 6700XT I have stuttering that was not present on previous versions, and maybe the power of the RX560 is not powerful enough to render the game, and create those shaders at the same time.

Used to have a rx 460 bought it when it launched in 2016, at the time it was perfectly fine for every game sad to see it fall so hard, not that it matters anyway I saw a benchmark where my rx 6800 is pretty close to a 3080 these days, and the 6800xt is pretty close to a 3080 ti, so amd fine wine in full affect.

Card is old, but this game is simply stupid unoptimized garbage zombie masher.

It feels illegal to be this early.

It's probably due to Polaris not being optimized for TLOU & TLOU being optimized for DX 12.1 and above, The forspoken effect is really taken form

Also, the newer generation of AMD cards has lots of issues on the driver side. GTX 1050TI did a lot better job than rx560 in TLOU. It delivers 30+ all of the time in 1080p low. Those gpus are very close in terms of performance.

Polaris and AMD are complete garbage. Tons of issues in games, and drivers love crashing a lot. I have an rx570, and in Hogwarts the water turned into complete black a lot of times, or just disappeared. This only happens with Polaris. In Spider-Man the sun bugged through building, the whole lighting in daylight was completely broken. In Horizon, even on low settings, lots of the textures never load. When I reached the city I was in a PS1 graphics area immediately. Like nothing loaded, ever. XD I'm pretty sure, newer AMD cards have lots of issues.

Or it's probably due to the gpu being worse than the weakest gpu they recommend to play the game at 30Fps@720p...and the 1050ti is quite strong compared to a 560 hence why it did a better job, a 1050ti is actually one of the gpus they recommend for 30Fps@720p and if you tell me it gets +30fps all the time NOT at 720p but 1080p then they really did an awesome job optimizing the game, just hoping there's room for more significant performance improvements.

Just starting out the video but wanted to comment and say that I have one of these cards so this title caught my attention. I'm not using it much anymore it is in storage right now but I was curious how it would perform in this game. I like it even if I don't use it much because of it being one of the lowest tier Amd Gpus that support FSR. It's fun to see which games became playable again when enabling Fsr.

I have a i7 4790, Rx 580 4gb, and ddr3 16gb 1600mhz, I can play the game at 1080p fsr2 quality or balanced with medium settings preset with the top 4 LOD settings set to low and draw distance and I get a smooth 40-50fps and in some are 60fps, the lowest I seen was 20fps until I killed all the zombies in the area then it went to 30fps

You're right about 500 series, my Rx 570 has exact same issue, please try this card next

12:01 i have the same problem with this rx 560 on God Of War 2018 at the Nine Lake map. My fps dropped to 20-25 fps in there, while in all place i could get 40+ fps. What a shame amd 500 series :(

I have an RX-560 and I saw plenty of driver crashes even on the desktop, so I wouldn't put all the blame on the game lol. Thankfully, a friend lent me an RX-6600 to use for a while.

The game uses more than 4gb of VRAM even on low settings, thats why it went from 60 fps to 25 even on 720 ultra performance fsr, which is the same performance it got at 1080p quality fsr. How bizarre that that game uses more than 4gb of VRAM at 240p internal resolution.

LAst of bags also works on the RX 580 - underloading the card... No wonder I updated, that year, the laptop from 560 to 3070, although there was a low fps on RTX (35) ...

Hogwarts hated Polaris too.

Can you check how it runs on a 1650 Super? Would be interesting since it's slightly more powerful than a 1060 but only got 4GB of VRAM

720p with fsr on ultra performance is just a retro game

Polaris is DX 12.0, it's being hit hard due to it sharing the same DX 12.0 as all the GCN cards from the R9 290 series to the R9 fury series

Those constant crashes you had , while the GPU not being defective/malfunctioning ,travelled me back to my 1st discrete graphics card i've ever bought back in 1999: *nVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Ultra* I had bought a new PC and i was trying to launch games and they would crash !! This was driving insane and i was thinking replacing the card when i happened to try Quake 3: Arena demo. The demo launched flawlessly , and not only that , after that , every game was launching flawlessly as well !! So the only thing i had to do for this card to perform flawlessly , is each time i opened my PC ,to play few minutes the Quake 3: Arena demo !!! and after that everything played smooth as butter !! I'll never forget this weird issue and seeing your problem here with "the last of us" made me travel back in 1999 again ,lol !! ( --P.S. Of course back then i was totally ignorant , and this issue might have been fixed with a certain driver , but as i said , this was my 1st experience with discrete graphics cards ,so i couldn't figure this out ,plus , the TNT2-lineup was only the 2nd generation of nVIDIA's products ,and drivers weren't frequently updated back then unlike today )

In fact ,many times after finishing the map , i left this music theme playing for quite some time ,super-addictive to my ears !! *you had to lose the match to hear this theme though , so i was always losing on purpose in the end* 😄 !!! *oh ,the memories* ........ --P.S. this is the one ,check it out : """Quake 3 Arena Battle Lost OST""""

i paired a 5600 with the 580 8gb and it did good on all my games except sons of the forest and dead space remake

Fun fact: The RX 560 performance is closer to PS4. (as HD 7850 performance) But it only running "low" settings and struggling to maintain 30 FPS. 😑

I think that is game's fault. When you where in building or near building GPU doesn't utilize fully, but when you come out it's 99% - 100%, and in spiderman remastered GPU was near 100% utilization. It could be building related or game is still poorly optimized.

The game can be set to lower than low preset. Basically low preset isn't the absolute lowest.

And yet 560 is still the 3rd best card after 1650 and 1050ti which don't require a power connector :)

correct me if I'm wrong but my rx 560 back in the day had like these graphical issues (I was testing it on mafia 3 lol) and after a few drivers crashes gpu completely broke to a point that my pc would randomly shut down whenever i boot it up, it'll load up to the windows screen then i'll get few screen glitches and then back to complete black screen and it also affected my ram modules, so I ended up completely destroying my rx 560 and ram module. so idk I think this driver crashes especially the graphic issues/screen glitches (speaking of those black lines at 6:30) can affect your other pc parts as well, such as rams, SSD, HDD, and CPU if you push it too far like kept playing with it then it's surely gonna end up killing the GPU, be careful.

IDK but it handling Spiderman suggests that The last of Us is not a great port.

I downloaded the game and deleted it on the same day... because of its many problems

The crispness of fsr/dlss was making my game crash, i put it on 0 and stop crashing, i don't know why =D

Those crashes are because of 1300mhz overclock these rx 500 series cards are really bad overclockers

I think that the RX 500 Series gives up the ghost with new games I also have problems with my RX 570 8GB in Call of Duty Warzone 2, I have the latest Blue Screen of Death. you also had Blue Screen of death in Last of Us with the RX 580 have the same error code as you did in WZ 2

A lot of VRAM spilling into system RAM here, as with most modern games.

on RX 5700 XT Red Devil 8 GB its completely broken too

On ps3 ,the classic one run on 30 fps ,half hd,with bad graphics than this and it was playable, what happen this days ?

The last of us even sometimes crashes on my 6800xt but maybe that's because I have it paired with a Ryzen 5 3600

On pcie 4 the 6500xt probably wouldn't be TOO bad

I tried it too on my RX 550 4gb...yeah the fps is not great ((25-30fps most of the time @1366x768p fsr2 quality)) ..same issue there, it always crashes my Gpu driver even on stock clocks

You should test these low end gpus with realistic similar level cpu and ram too. Pairing these low end gpus with high end system might remove other possible bottlenecks, but it is not a realistic scenario at all apart from gpu benchmark scenarios. 4 GB VRAM GPUs like this should also be tested with 4 core CPUs and 16 GB system RAM.

Kryyzp paired the rx 560 with the 5800x3d to make sure the GPU is the bottleneck, but paired a slightly faster r9 370x with an old i7 yesterday... 🤔

I know the solution ! Just increase the power limit, i have the rx 580 8gb, i played cyberpunk, and sons of the forest, the gpu utilization was between 50% to 80% and the games didn't run well and the temperature was 89 degrees, but after i went to the amd control panel and chnage the power limit to +50, the utilization went to 100% and the games ran better, Try this in the next video ! i will happily watch it !

That part that was getting 24~Fps was on 50% Gpu usage i notice in a setting. So it could had gotten 45-50 if the usage was 100%

to me the RX 460 4gb is the best i can use until the time comes that i can get an oem charger for this gaming laptop that i was given (the gaming laptop got it's charging port fixed but since the charger it came with wasn't also taken to the repair shop it is also not really useful so either the charger is comes with gets fixed or get a slightly used oem charger from a hopefully trusthworthy source online)

Can you test the Quadro P620 to check if it's really better than the legendary GTX 750 ti and GT 1030?

The Rx 590 gets full GPU utilisation in this game all the time and is actually stable. Idk what's wrong with the rest of the 500 series 😂

The rx590 is much stronger than a 560, and the lowest gpu they recommended was a 470 for 720p 30fps at the lowest settings, you can't expect a 560(which is worse than a 470) to run the game when it's not even powerful enough..

@@alexanderx78 yeah that's not what I meant cus even the Rx 580 doesn't get full GPU usage even tho there's like a 4-5% performance difference between the 580 and 590. The problem is that the Rx 500 series don't get full GPU usage in this game except the 590 for some reason

Maybe it's DirectX. The rx500 series has only 12.0 newer gpu's have 12.1

i just gave up on playing it bec the shaders were just not compiling and it was crashing like planes on twin tower

there is also a few didfferent versions of that gpu some have all the shaders unlocked 1024 vs 896 might be the issue with his card as well.

Ahhh I think this Card isn´t VRAM bandwith limitet, but since it runs out of VRAM and only has PCIE 3.0 x8, it might be a PCIE limitation. One thing that also hurts the 4060 Ti with it´s 4.0 x8 Connection. Man I can´t stop complaining about this Card xD I might Consider getting a Steam Deck in the Future and could you Test Read Dead 2 on it? Since it´s decent optimized and doesn´t require much CPU Power, it might be playable.

Wow . this is awful. Shame on the devs technical department!

No one should buy this mess. Even those who own an rtx 4090 shouldn't, it would be like insulting the money spent on that hardware with a crappy piece of software.

Honestly, this game is just a mess in general. At this point, I won't even give the 560 a hard time. This title plays like trash on my 3080Ti and 7900XTX. The newest patch seems to have made things worse for both my cards. Both dip down near 60fps at some points, even when I have FSR rendering at 1440p. What a mess.

@@tysopiccaso8711 I have micro stutters all over the place like the shaders are having issues, even though I let them load to 100% before playing. There's a lot of people in the Steam forums experiencing the same thing. i don't know what is going on.

The ps3 version was also made like 10 years ago and has significantly worse graphics
