Gosh what a game, i was waiting for this game for such a long time, i don't remember how many time i talked about it and when i finished it, i was filled with so many emotions.
I know that a lot of you are angry by the narrative choices or the fate of some characters but i enjoyed every bit of that game and i'm currently replaying it again because it's just so good.
This may not be my best edit especially because i don't know if my coloring really fits this, i'm not sure the quality is optimal and because i'm not used to edit a video game but anyway there is the video so i guess just enjoy it if you can.
Thank you for the support you bring to the channel : Keinen Traum, Zed.

Because i know the game is a hot topic lately, i'm gonna put a warning here to judge the video for itself once again, and not because you don't like the game or what the writers did with the plot. Thank you for your support, the channel just passed 20K, that's a huge step for me so thank you and i hope you enjoyed the video!

@@T3AMKILL I see it as she is turning over a new leaf. She is leaving the traumatic past behind to look toward the future. A life with Dina and JJ, surrounded by friends and family. The life Joel wanted for her, the life he sacrificed so much to make for her. Ellie finally realises that her life does matter. There are people around her who care about her. She can finally forgive Joel.

  • @T3AMKILL

@@henrikfitch4017 I absolutely agree. While the ending seemed dark, it can be argued that Ellie was actually in a state of mind better than the first game! That last fight was extremely cathartic, and indeed she was able to forgive Joel, and forgive herself. The porch scene is about forgiveness and Joel teaching Ellie what gives meaning to life. That her immunity doesn't define her. That a life of meaning is a life made with someone else. And for Ellie, that someone else is Dina (or whoever else it may be). Drowning Abby she remembered that she lost the real thing that gives her a meaning to her life. She lost it because of her ego. That it's not what Joel would have wanted for her. She remembers that Joel always put the people he loved first. All in all, while it may appear as a very depressing ending for Ellie, it could be argued her mental state is better than that of epilogue Part 1, as she was still greatly haunted by survivor’s guilt and the question whether she knew Joel was lying and was convincing herself to accept that lie if so. However I don’t know if she is indeed back with Dina. Yes, she is wearing the bracelet, didn’t seem surprised when entering the farm and so on, but I’m just not too sure. Also, was her losing ring and baby finger just for the guitar, or a metaphor for Dina and JJ?

Man even tho she lost almost everything, she’s not alone at the ending of the game! If you pay attention to some details, such as, Dina’s bracelet that wasn’t with Ellie when she left for revenge, different clothes, her being clean and no visible wounds, the fingers kinda healed, no weapons on the backpack, the way the farm is and no photos of her and Dina left there, you can tell that she’s already with Dina and Potato in Jackson... not that sad after all (even tho the whole story is a tregedy by itself). Druckmann also said that before she left the farm in the end, she would get JJ’s toy, wich would tell us that she’s with them already, but they got it off so that we felt the way we did lol

TLOU Part 2 demanded a level of maturity from it's players that is unrivaled in gaming which a big part of the Gaming community simply wasn't ready for. The nuanced ambivalence and empathy of that game is something that made many people uncomfortable because it breaks the foundations of what escapism is build on which is the cuddly & cozy comfort of sweet simplicity where good & evil are easily identified. TLOU Part 2 reaches a level of psychological complexity that i have never seen before. Truly remarkable.

People are so butthurt over this game. The reaction to it just makes me nervous for every game that gets released in the future. The plot and characters are consistent with the first game, but I just think most players forgot that it’s a dystopian story where savagery is everything and morality is questionable. Ultimately, we’re seeing the type of vengeful journey that Joel and Tommy likely went on after Sarah’s death. Only now it’s through Ellie. His actions had consequences and even if it was possibly the right action to take, they caught up with him. His death reminds me of how people reacted to Negan killing Glenn and Abe in The Walking Dead. It wasn’t the gore that affected people. It was the fact that their favourite characters had lost all of their power and couldn’t fight back. They had gotten so used to seeing Glenn using his cunning to survive, and Abe being able to fight his way out, that the sight of them dying so easily made viewers realise how desperate and terrifying their world is. And it’s the same with Joel.

Nora: *Do you still hear his screams? I hear them every night.* The first time I played this game and listened to Nora say this, just a split second before she said it, I heard Joel's scream in my head. I heard it cause I shot the last guy on his legs and he started screaming before he died. When he started screaming I heard Joel in my head. My heart breaks every time I play this game. Joel was more than just a character to me. He was a father figure. A man that I would wanna be for my kids. Joel is an idol. Many people didn't get why they killed him off, but I do. He crossed a lot of people and eventually went back to him. If he wasn't dead from the beginning of the game, we wouldn't appreciate the flashbacks that much. In the end, Ellie is alone, as she feared she'd end up. The game ended in the exact opposite way of how it started. Joel sings to Ellie to let her know that everything's going to be alright, and at the end Ellie lost everything, holding a guitar unable to play, she doesn't have Joel to sing to her and she just looks out the window, knowing that nothing's went or is going to be alright.

The sad part of it is that Ellie failed to realize she always mattered. Joel might have been wrong for lying to her, but he was right by giving her that value as an individual. Ellie was always more than just her immunity, and in the end it's a possibility the "cure" might had not been effective.

This is one of the most moving narratives I’ve experienced. The last of has popped into my head at least once a day since I first played it years ago. The story arch of both games is so compelling it almost haunts me. Although I wasn’t happy with how part II turned out for many reasons, it’s still an amazing overall story. And while I personally like Joel and Ellie’s story ending with the first game, part II does give more weight to the first game. The editing in this video is amazing dude. I was thoroughly engrossed by it despite knowing the story so well. I was tearing up and everything. Very good job!

this made me sob. heavily. this is beautiful. and after watching a playthrough of the second game and rewatching a playthrough of the first game, I've come to realize that maybe I have to play it for myself. I used to hate the second game, not because Joel died, but because his death meant nothing and Ellie lost everything in the end. but maybe that was the point: that life and/or death in a zombie apocalypse would just be random and unbelievably tragic. maybe the point was not to make a game that was satisfying for the player, but to make a beautifully emotional game that highlighted the harsh reality that everyone you kill is someone's family and that it could come back to bite you at any moment. the moral of the story, I think, is to cherish every moment you have as long as you have it. regardless of the plot, naughty dog made something amazing with this franchise.

Maybe I'm a little late, but great edit man 👍 This game is a Masterpiece ♥️ in my eyes. Never a game or any piece of media brought me such emotions and felt so real. It's really heart wrenching to see Joel die the way he die, but most of all it's real. It's not because it's a beloved character that his death should have been heroic. We are not at Hollywood. It's brutal, traumatic, but it feels real. Best experience of my entire life so far Thanks to Naughty Dog for this 🙏
