I think Ellie’s mother would have done exactly what Joel did in episode 9. I also believe she would have liked Joel especially in all he did for her. Joel did the right thing in the end. The world was too far gone and broken for a cure/vaccine to make an actual difference. Yes, no one would be infected. But that doesn’t mean they were immune from being ripped apart, slaughtered. The infected outnumbers the rest of the world easily. He would rather have Ellie live a life and all of it be for nothing than Ellie dying to all of it be for nothing. Thanks for uploading. PS - I love your choice of songs especially the final song in Dumbledore’s farewell soundtrack to Joel & Ellie.

The moment I saw the scene where Ellie reads Bill’s letter I was like “someone needs to make an edit of Joel when the show is over and play that part when he kills the fireflies” and you did! I’m also so happy my favorite line of the show was implemented in your video “You might not be her father…but you were someones” pure perfection.

Love how Frank and Bill’s story is a foreshadow of Joel and Ellie’s relationship. It’s an interesting twist because Ellie saved Joel by giving him hope and a renewed life, but Joel physically saves Ellie. I feel like they takes turns saving each other in alternating episodes.

Dumbledore's Farewell theme was a nice touch.

I think the three parts that left me in tears the most was how broken he sounds when he tells his brother “I was saved by her, from another kid, because I was too slow and too fuckin deaf to hear him comin” and “I know you think I can still handle things but… I’m weak, I’m not who I was” and I think this illustrates how aged he has become and how his body is getting old and he is slowly losing his ability to fight, to survive. The next part was when he said “and lately I have dreams, every night…” and tommy asks him what kind of dreams. His response is so chilling and sad, “I don’t know, I can’t remember… all I do know is that I wake up and I feel I’ve LOST something. I’m failing in my sleep... It’s all I do, it’s all I’ve ever done. Is fail.” The worried and sad look on Tommy’s face makes it all the worse… at this point, in his early fifties, Joel is worn down and tired. He’s broken and he sometimes sees his daughter everywhere he goes. He dreams of her, of losing her. And he can’t save her, and he fails over and over again. It’s why he tries to entrust Ellie to Tommy because he doesn’t think he can protect her or live the life he’s lead anymore.

Bella Ramsey is just so fucking perfect as Ellie. As is Pedro for Joel. I’m almost convinced that they are the same as the game. Your video has made me ball my eyes out multiple times I really hope season 2 explores the infected more. Especially the nature of them and the fact that there is a little bit of human left in the monsters. Especially the runners where you can hear them crying in the game. It would be amazing if they created new characters that interact with those we know. Have an episode centred only really on them, have them bitten and follow them in the episode as they are infected
