And just a damn good show even it hadn't been based on the game. The story of the game was just so great, and they did a great job converting it into a series. I pretty much loved all of it, even the change of Bill and their whole episode.

@@whitesox4524 They did though, such as Bill & Frank's story in episode 3. But not as drastic as say Arcane, though in animation.

I love it when Troy says "we've already done it, shot it, edited it. Why do it again?" and the response to that was "there are people out there who will never pick up a controller and experience the story. This story is special enough to bring it to them". I'm so glad you did as I am one of those people. Thank you

The visual effects effort is freakin incredible….i didnt even realize how extensive it was.

@@connorbranscombe6819 Yeah plotwise it's the same but I didn't believe in Joel and Ellie's relationship and bond remotely as much as did in the game because they spent too much time on sidestories and characters, which completely destroys the ending

This show is what happens when every single person involved puts all of their love and care into it

This show is absolutely perfect Bella Ramsey played Ellie to perfection and I can’t wait to see her play Ellie again in season 2. Pedro was perfect as well. He embodied my favourite character. The chemistry between the two is amazing and I loved the scenes where we get to see them bonding. Thank you to everyone involved in creating this show. It means so much to me.

If season 2 is the missing timespan between TLOU and TLOU2 then keep Bella but if not then recast and choose someone that looks older and is taller

@@cxmxqx recasting would be a complete waste of time considering how big of a role this is and how hard it was to cast Ellie in the first place, also bella is 19 almost 20. Ellie is 19 in Part II. Recasting for someone who looks slightly older is a stupid idea lmfao. Also most people seem to forget but they also made bella look younger on purpose, they can do the same thing with making her look older

@@Laikalister ellie is 14 years old in tlou and she looks and sounds like one. bella may be 19 or 20 but she doesn’t look like her age, she was able to play a 14 year old girl. recasting for tlou2 wouldn’t be stupid 💀 Ellie goes through puberty during the missing time span and she looks completely different and is also way taller

⁠@@cxmxqxBella was 16/17 during production… they have significantly grown since then and it is very apparent. as the previous commenter mentioned, they took measures to make Bella look younger.

Someone who also deserves credit is BRUCE STRALEY who co directed the game with Neil druckman. Though he mainly focused on gameplay he still helped bring these characters and story to life. Thank you Bruce!

Im still not over episode 3 😭💔 by then end of it, I was snuggled into my husband, crying, and telling him how much I loved him 😂 genuinely, I think that was the best episode of television that Ive ever seen, and part of an already great show.

The amount of love poured down on this show is out of this world.

I cannot wait for season 2. I haven't been this amazed and invested in a TV show and it's characters in a long time

Have decided to play it mainly cuz season two will come out at some point. Hope ill be able to enjoy it more than i think but yeah, i think the story decisions i dont like will mean i wont love it nearly as much as part 1😂.

It is a masterpiece indeed!!! I'm a 56 yo woman, have never played the game and once I started watching the first few minutes of the first episode, I was hooked. There's no denial that this show ramped up the quality bar of the Film/TV Show making for the future of the industry. It's literally the learning course of "How To Make A High Quality TV Show" for others to borrow from in the future. Shout out to Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann and all the cast abd crew for their amazing works and endeavors. Can't wait to continue this journey in future seasons.

I played the game 6 years ago. No other video game brought me in tears like TLOU. I've waited too long for the show and I'm happy that Pedro and Bella managed to bring alive the same emotions I experienced years ago. Thanks to HBO and TLOU team.

Never played the game for whatever reason, but the show was so amazing I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. So well done in every way. I love zombie/apocalypse/dystopian stuff, but it’s also so unbelievably emotional and well written. Every episode is unbelievable, but episodes 3, 5 and 8 were on another level. Best tv show I’ve ever watched.

God, they did an absolutely FANTASTIC job bringing this game to life. The cast, the crew, the VFX, the music, everyone who worked on this show should be absolutely proud of themselves because it truly came out so incredible. I can't wait for Season 2 to come along. You can tell just how much love and thought was put into this and it's SO COOL to see how they brought it all to life together. Truly incredible. 👏🏻

The only thing I didn't like about the show, it was too damn short.

18:18 Pretty cool seeing my hometown in the show. The High Level Bridge is real and is used multiple time a day for freight trains and is over 300 feet tall.

My daughter has never played TLOU and after convincing her to trust me about this she’s obsessed with it. Now for her birthday I got her a hoodie with Bella and Pedro on the back. It’s incredible to see her reaction and love the story as much as I do! Can’t wait for Season 2! 😮

I love the games. Dare I say they changed my life. I've beaten them countless times, and everytime I restart them it's like the first time all over again. I get back in the headspace of when I first played. And I walk every inch of the maps and just enjoy the love that was put into making the games. I just feel like whenever I play again I have to give that love back. TLoU is king

This is the best making of i've seen in a long time. A lot of making of are mostly actors and directors talking about their experience. This one on the contrary let a lot of different crew members talk about the sets, vfx, sfx, music, sound effect, scouting the filming locations. And that is so rare and precious. I also like that they barely compare the game and the show in this, showing that tlou the show is it's own piece of art. Thanks to all of those who worked on the show and the making off, can't wait for season 2 ! (ps : i'm learning english, if my comment is unclear please tell me so I can correct myself)

the show and the games (and the comic, cannot forget it exists) You´re so right! That´s something that honestly unfortunally not many big companies/studios do sadly, so it is so empowering for those lesser known workers to be recognized for their work, even if their names aren´t mentioned. Behind a show/game and their directors and actors there´s always a huge team that usually goes forgotten

Truly amazing to see how much effort is put into something like this - every scene is a huge testament to the overwhelming love and dedication that went into the creation of this show.

The wail Neil talks about how much work went into the start ... well it absolutely shows. What an excellent opening. As soon as I saw it I knew I was in for a treat. A truly epic experience, thank you!

When I heard that this show was being filmed in my hometown I was ecstatic, can’t believe this amazing show was actually filmed less then ten miles away from me.

tlou2 is one of the best games I've ever played, it brought me feelings I have never felt for a game before, it was just THAT special, I'm not saying there aren't plot holes, which I think if more thoughts were put into those it would have made the game into perfection. I was literally left stunned the first time I finished the game, I have NEVER felt that for a game before and I played enoumous amount of games in my lifetime.

I am so in love with this series. The attention to detail is impeccable. Can't wait to see season 2, even though I know what awaits us.

To have two such outstanding and moving video games AND now a fantastic series adaptation is incredible. How great to have the same people working on it with the same passion and knowledge. I love It! I'm looking forward to the next seasons to see how the adaptation of the much larger and more complex TLOU Part 2 turns out.

It’s really fascinating hearing the practical and digital working hand and hand. How there are practical elements, and those practical elements are then scanned and upped in quantity with cgi. Or practical environments and then the sky or the plane comes in digitally Hats off all around

Such a masterpiece of a TV show. I've played part 1 but seeing it as a live adaptation is a thrill ride and still brings me very emotional moments. We hope that the succeeding series will be as seamless and provocative as what we have played in part 2.

Working on a series like this must have been a dream! The respect that the filmmakers had for the original game really shows in the end product. The sets and Infected look incredible and the production teams have really delivered! It's my lifelong dream to one day work on a show or film with a production like this as well.

I will never understand people saying Bella isn't the right choice for Ellie. Even going against advices and watching the game's playthrough is one the most Ellie thing she can do.

The environment in the show is actually just like the game...the show in itself is also not bad, but the game somehow has more emotion in it's cut scenes...and the tension while playing is another level
