I actually find it funny, comparing the dynamic of Naruto and Hinata to Minato and Kushina - how they were basically exactly swapped between the personality types. Minato was more quiet, reserved and kind but deadly serious when need be, Kushina was brash, overzealous and reckless but fiercely loyal and loving to the ones she lets in. And it's the fiery one that gets her eyes opened to her feelings, in a moment of being saved by the quiet one. Naruto is basically Kushina almost entirely personality-wise, while Hinata fills much of the Minato role in terms of personality (especially in The Last). And it's Naruto, just like Kushina, that has his eyes opened during the process of a rescue mission, only the situation is reversed with him filling the rescuer role like Minato and Hinata the rescued role that Kushina was in (and the one needing rescuing even being stolen away from an inborn trait beyond their control in both cases - Kushina for being a jinchuriki, Hinata for being the Byakugan princess/heir of Hamura Otsutsuki). It's funnily and cutely poetic, if you think about it. And it's a great strength of the film to condense the Naruto-Hinata relationship blossom into the runtime in a way the show/manga never had time for, but still make it feel natural. Same with how the show/manga handled Minato and Kushina's history. Edit: And technically, Hinata did actually pull the full Minato - going solo against stacked odds to rescue Naruto - when she jumped in vs Pain. It just didn't work out well for her at the time. Though I actually like the role inversion of the "eyes opening to feelings" between Naruto and Hinata. Kushina falling for Minato because he was kind and saved her life by herself (complimenting her hair in the process, which she was self-conscious about) is understandable especially at her age at the time. Naruto being the one doing the rescuing and in the process having feelings bloom and at an older, less impressionable age and with someone he's already known for basically his entire life...idk that's such a neat and interesting contrast that I haven't seen much of. Like not falling for someone saving your life, but trying to save someone's life and, independent of that, coming to terms with your own feelings for them and making the rescue take on a new level of significance.

Fun Fact: Naruto and Hinata's kids are named in honor of Neji. Neji means 'Screw' and Boruto is the Japanese way of pronouncing "Bolt". Boruto also wears a necklace with a fastened bolt on it. Himawari means Sunflower, which was Neji's favorite flower. She and Hinata are seen praying at Neji's grave in the final chapter of Naruto.

Sakura literally overpowers Mind Transfer too. Even when someone does manage to hit her with a genjutsu, she typically gets out before anyone else and is back to having full conversations like it was nothing.

Sakura was always resistant to genjutsu. She only got put under it one time and that was from Sasuke’s strongest genjutsu.

@Robert Rodriguez he did and from that point he was adamant abt training her in genjutsu resistance. In the assault of the sand, he mentions he was happy he did so, as she's able to notice it immediately and release the genjustu on others. I'm glad someone else remembered too ^^

Sakura is indeed extremely resistant to genjutsu. The only time she was ever affected was during the first bell test. Since then, she's been able to get through a lot of genjutsu such as the Chunin Exams, Konoha Crush, and even being able to resist Mind Transfer Jutsu.

she's not "resistant" to mind transfer, but has a specific counter to it that no others have. she is a duo-personality. the other personality comes out when she was controlled.

If you all notice at the start of the movie, Naruto is still depressed despite all his great accomplishments. He's the favorite to be the Hokage, everyone admires and loves him, he saved the world, world peace is now a thing, he's the most powerful Ninja that ever lived, and yet he still goes home to the same lonely apartment every day. That's why when he holds the scarf, he looks as sad as he does. By the end of this movie, he hasn't become the Hokage yet but he finally has the one thing he wanted above all else, a family of his own. That's why he's so grateful to Hinata. That's why he's finally at peace by the end. He no longer goes home to an empty apartment. He goes home to her.

when the movie came out in theaters everyone was loosing their shit screaming and cheering when naruto and hinata finally kissed seeing it again reminds me of that day

I love everyone’s reaction during the Naruto confession scene! It’s like reliving the anticipation and excitement all over again!

I think Every naruhina shipper clapped like a Seal like you guys on their first kiss. It was so satisfying after years seeing naruto finally with someone who loved him for who he is and deserves his love as well, which was hinata all along. well he has some type of ocular thing, but we don't know exactly what it is yet. It was called Jougan or something like that, been a while since I watched the show or read the manga. The only thing that I remember is that he is barely aware that he has it, doesn't know how to activate it or use it and the enemies that saw it were pretty frightened and scared to see it ahaha

Just for some clarity guys, this movie takes place a few years after the war, so they are around 19/20 during this. As do all the episodes that take place at the end of the series. Great movie, and always love hearing Sukima Switch during those end credits! And a great first kiss for sure!

Sakura is actually based off of kishimotos wife. Said in an interview that his wife knew Hinata wasn’t the one for her. Basically saying she isn’t like Hinata.

This is still why Skikamaru is Naruto best fried. My man lost his girl, didn’t even know what to do with himself after that and Shikumaru is the one that comes to him again when he needs somebody the most. Just so Naruto can “Believe” nothing is over with.

I know that's a bit confusing about Kaguya and the Gedo Statue being in the moon, mostly because the anime has a "filler" arc about Kaguya's backstory that's never shown in the mangá, and that Arc changes some details of the information that's sole manga canon. But summing all up: in earth there was the Divine tree, Kaguya came to earth, ate the fruit of the Divine tree and gained the Power to rule mankind, when her children defied her, Kaguya fused with the Divine tree and transformed herself into the 10 tails. So the 10 tails is Kaguya. When Kaguya was defeated by her sons she basically got her mind, body and soul separated. Her will/consciousness got away in the form of Black Zetsu, her soul/chakra got sucked away and then was divided into the 9 tailed beasts, and her body became the lifeless husk of the 10 tails that is the Gedo Statue that was sealed by the jutsu "Planetary Devastation" that became the moon (in the Narutoverse earth didn't have a moon before Kaguya's defeat, the moon was created by Hagoromo and Hamura by sealing Kaguya / 10 tails). In the end of Naruto, in the battle against Kaguya, Naruto and Sasuke used the same jutsu that was given to them by Hagoromo that defeated Kaguya in the First time. She was sealed again by creating another moon, but that was inside one of her parallel dimensions, so this second moon where she sealed right now It's not on earth, but in a different dimension.

Movie has a novel, which repeats the story however it's not officially translated to English for now... also 4Th Databook states that after they sealed 10 tails, Hamura had descendants on earth, some of the clan gone with Hamura on the moon creating Hamura's Otsutsuki clan and ones that stayed are the Hyuga clan...

small note : his hand isn't still healing, its a prosthetic made from hashirama's cells - he will wear bandages on it forever, and sasuke doesnt get one

Naruto loved Sakura who also developed feelings for him; they actually had growth and development in their relationship but Kishi never went through with putting them together. Sakura was actually there for Naruto more than Hinata and Naruto was always there for Sakura compared to Sasuke. Neither ended up with people they should based off how the writing was in the manga

It's hard to believe that movie came out in 2014 and now it's going to be 9 years since it came out. That red scarf that was in the movie originally it was a gift from the mangka's wife Masashi Kishimito while they were dating. It really took Naruto seeing Hinata's genjutsu thanks to the scarf to finally see Hinata's love towards him. That hit him like a ton of bricks and he acknowledged how dense he was back then that he couldn't see Hinata's affection and feelings and that he will finally reciprocate back to her. The thing that always made me happy when I first saw the movie was that finally after the heartache at never know his parents, being ostracized and bullied by the village, that he finally had someone who truly loved him. That he was able to have a family that loved him in return as well and got the respect that he earned .

Completely forgot just how emotional this was for me, and with that I mean recognizing that it really is nearly to the end of saying goodbye to all the episodes... to witness Naruto's realization of his feeings for Hinata.... I still think he married her so quickly cause he almost lost her to marriage on the moon lol... but the ending was so satisfying and nostalgic.. thank you for a wonderful journey and the reminder that anything is possible once you believe and never give up...

To clarify, Sakura and Ino are used to confirm a couple things. Naruto latched onto Sakura bcuz of his rivalry with Sasuke, and bcuz he felt he needed her affection to be seen by her as Sasukes equal. The dream sequence shows that Naruto didn't understand different types of love as no one really gave him guidance, Sakura pretty much had to give him "the talk" at 19 lol I'm sure jiraiya explained some stuff but I don't think anyone really explained romantic love. Usually, people learn by seeing their parents and such interact, or by dating, but most of the rookies didn't have that privilege, and esp Naruto had neither. So once he had things explained, it's showing moments where he's starting to remember times where he felt something for her, but didn't have an understanding of it. Thus the double scene at Ichirakus where "I love ramen." changes to "I love Hinata." Now he realizes what he's feeling and he loves both, but they're different. We're basically seeing Naruto putting puzzles together and trying to go back and reconsider what he did now that he knows what he was feeling. Byakugan Princess is what he calls her because her Byakugan is pure blood and she's a direct descendent which is why only Hiashi, Himawari, and Hinata are targeted and the side branch hyuugas are just killed off. Both are direct descendents so she's the only suitable bride for Toneri to create a new, pure clan. She was also the original heiress of the clan, thus, considered equivalent to a princess in his eyes.

I really hate the messaging and portrayal of Naruto in this friggen movie🤦‍♀️ the only thing I agree with is he never really like Sakura. I HATE that the entire build up of NaruHina is: Naruot sidnt realise Honata loved him becoz hes stupid and actually he always loved her but he didnt know becoz hes stupid. And the minute he realised she lived him is when he "realised" he loved her🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😒 Naruto may not have much experience... but hes not friggen RETARDED which you'd have to be orphan or not to not know the difference between loving a favourite Food and romantic interest in a PERSON! Naruto is one of the most empathetic people in this universe He has SEEN many variations of love including from his parents and peers! Hes also very intuitive about his OWN feelings theres no way he didn't notice that he felt something specific about a person, which brings me to my next point I HATE that the message of this movie was "He always loved he just didnt realise it" FUCK THAT. its lazy, stupid and WRONG. Naruto didn't live Hinata. Period. He barely liked her more than hes other friends, Infact Hinata, Shino, TenTen and Kankuro are on the same level of friendship. He could love Hinata becoz he barely knew her, he barely spoke to her or interacted with her! He never Thought about her! Heck thier personalities don't mix! Even by shounen standards thats proof that NH is a dead ship! Other shounen have poor build up and practically zero romantic writing, but they still make it clear that the protag cares about and even love waifu or will end up with her very quickly even if they have little to no interaction. Naruto DOESN'T SO TAHT WITH NH!

For me I don’t think Naruto’s love for sakura is rivalry thing. May be at the begin it was but Naruto isn’t a character to love someone just for rival. But he moved on sakura and he falling in love with Hinata. It is okay you can move on and love someone else. And if we look naruto hinata’s conservations naruto always respect hinata so much he wasn’t like even with sakura. So hinata wasn’t his first but she always his last 😌

@MD I agree, I think when he brought in Tsunade and saw how Sakura reacted to Sasuke waking up, there was a very clear shift in his feelings for her. I think he still had an attraction, but I think he compartmentalized it as something that was not meant to change and accepted that. Their relationship remains the same for the most part and matures over the years, and I think that's why he didn't see her later confession as genuine. I think for a while he's understood that at least. I think Naruto couldn't pinpoint why he felt so protective and behaved gentler w Hinata than most people, so while he may not have always been in love with her, I think by the time he was , he was able to understand his behaviors more and Sakura was agreeing and confirming those ideas. Personally, I really loved Sakura in the movie because she was so patient w both of them and she knew both of them so well that she was able to help them both figure it out and I rly like that development for her and Naruto as friends. It was rly grown up of her.

yea that is not what a direct descendent is direct descendent: a person who is in direct line to an ancestor, such as child, grandchild, great-grandchild and on forever. A lineal descendant is distinguished from a "collateral/inderect" descendant, which would be from the line of a brother, sister, aunt or uncle. Hamura went to the moon some of his descendents became the Hyuga, the others became the Otsutsuki in the moon. the branch line within the moon mistook Hamura's teachings and stole the eyes of all the main branch of Moon Otsutsuki to create the tenseigan divise. both the Hyuga and the Moon otsutsuki are directly descended from Hamura. as Hamura had children who formed the Hyuga and Moon Otsutsuki clans. for Toneri for example to be a Collateral/inderect descendent of Hamura would require him to be descended from Hagoromo. but he isn't he is directly descended from Hamura as Hamura is Hinata and Toneri's great great great great great great great great and so on grandfather. just like Naruto, Hinata, Sasuke, tsunade, and all Uzumaki, Hyuga, Uchiha, Senju and Uzumaki all being direct descendents from KAGUYA

Man naruto being so clueless and dense reminds me of my high school days having a girl interested in me and I always thought she was super friendly. It's not our fault, we just don't always wanna come out as thirsty or too clingy. We hate rejection too, that's why we push our feelings to the side a lot and assume girls are just being nice. This is why guys shouldn't always be the ones to let the person know they like them. Girls should confront too if they like a guy.

Ah yeah this movie is so epic. The ending song gave me nostalgic vibes of Kim Possible Movie So the Drama and their song Could It Be. It's as beautiful as it is romantic. It also fits well with Naruto and Hinata too. Ron confessed his love for Kim just like Naruto with Hinata though it took a long time for him to realize Hinata loved him from the start of the series

Honestly I think Sakura has only been put under genjutsu once or twice and both times were fairly powerful genjutsu. She was stated to be good at chakra control way back in the exams. So she's probably one of the characters who have been put in genjutsu the least lol. But it's not your guys faults you forgot, it hasn't really been relevant to the story in a long time.
