I live close by, I have slept out by the loch during the summer, fishing, I know there are harbour seal bulls that are fat and large that follow the salmon shoals up into the loch I have watched five seals porposing through the loch (they can dive to 1500feet so they can go deep in the loch if they want) , so they move through the lloch same as geese form a v , the biggest bull breaking the water up front and the rest follow. I have seen the loch at 5 in the morning, flat calm yet in the space of seconds a wave went through the middle like a speed boat had cruised down the loch, but there were no boat out at that time, the wave that hit the shore rolled/ crested at 5 feet and crashed up the shore 10, to 12 ft its a steep shore line, some very short between tree line and loch, the drop offs are sheer in some areas, but about 30 mins before the wave hit I heard an acoustic knocking, which I believe was an under water rock fall, which due to the shape of the loch sets of a wave motion like a massive bath tub , the water moves across the loch from side to side and other waves travel the length and bounce back , when they clash, you get a massive cross chop of wave forms. However who am I to say there isnt a mystical beastie in the waters but there isn,t just very fat smart seals that work as a team catching salmon, like the killer whales that learnt to hunt sharks , they pass the hunting on from generation to generation, that thers a big accessable water up a river that the ness system salmon go through.

If its not bothering anyone....leave it alone.

If we look at the giant eel theory, it is best to keep an open mind, but the largest freshwater eel (Anguilla anguilla) ever caught in the UK was a specimen of 11 pounds 2 ounces, caught in a nutrient rich lake in southern England in 1978. In the 43 years since, in a country with a couple of million anglers, nobody has come anywhere near breaking that record. Loch Ness is a cold, deep oligotrophic lake in one of the coldest areas of the UK. As eels mainly feed during the warmer months, the idea that the monster sightings are giant eels is hard to believe in such an environment.

Shines' point about perspective and size being difficuilt to gauge in the absence of waves is brilliant. I just watched the 'Champ' documentary and a couple of the other lake monster ones too and the 'witnesses' nearly all comment on how flat the lake was during their sighting.

Also big shout out to this, the documentary was quite good and they interviewed people that the other documentaries ignore

The simple answer to that is lack of funding. The scientific community won't waste money and time on one single Loch that may or may not hold an elusive creature. Operation Deep Scan back in 1987 scanned the Loch and made contact with a strong target which was bigger than a shark but smaller than a whale.

Nessie`s seen it all before. Why does no one talk about the four divers killed in loch long. One diver who survived said it was a giant 20` + conga eel. Strange it hasn't been spoke of again.

Yes l have heard of another story about loch long not this one check out Arthur c Clarke's lake monsters in 19421 a 24 feet serpent type monster was found dead on the bank of loch long, the local vet said he'd never seen a creature like that. But lve never heard of four divers killed could you give more details.

Killed is perhaps a little melodramatic, drowned would be more accurate. nevertheless Divers have spoken about the massive conga eels in loch long which were attributed to the drownings of the divers in the early seventies. I have searched for some time but have never found it mentioned again. The location may play a part into why the government would discourage any influx of people into this sensitive area and would prefer it to be forgotten about. This is why ancient dinosaurs in loch ness I feel to be a "red herring". The answer is more simple, Loch ness has its own huge eels, and the conga is territorial and more aggressive. beware of the monster. @@Mrz-sb1hw

Poor Steve, still after so many more years he waits by the lakeside for his first glimpse of the Lochess monster. He has been there for over 20 years now waiting for his childhood dream to come true. Gave up his marriage and house to live a solitary life by the lakeside. I really hope he gets to see the infamous Lochess monster soon

Imagine someone going to loch Ness for the first time and taking really good film footage and Steve was there and he didn't have his camera ready. That would be terrible for Steve. I hope he gets some really good film footage as he's been the person that deserves it.

If this monster is being seen from 6th century AD then it has a very long lifespan or there are more than one monsters..

I believe that Nessie is real but in relation to St Columba, I reckon that incident was nothing more than an early attempt at ancient PR as Columba at the times was on a holy mission. It's also worth pointing out that if the Columba account is real then the incident took place in the River Ness rather than the Loch itself. The mystery continues...

@@127cmore I've lived near by and also visit frequently and you're right it can get deep in the winter just like many other rivers around Scotland. Its highly unlikely that a 20-30ft creature would go unnoticed. There are far too many eyes on that river. Not matter how fast that water flows there are still sections that just couldn't not hide such a large creature.

damn, to pursue happiness like Steve takes balls of steel....

One thing I noticed in this documentary is that most of the sightings are in June I wonder if its a coincidence or perhaps if the creature is real it rises to the surface when the weather is hot during the summer

This is why I don't swim outside of public pools lol.

As anyone ever questioned St. Columba, I would say this guy's credibility is in question.

There's so many possible explanations for all the sightings that I think there's unlikely to be something there in my humble opinion, but it does make life more interesting.

I have this documentary on VHS with a completely different narrator. This is word for word.

I believe in the hollow earth (watch the new King Kong/godzilla movie to see it). The KZread channel called New Earth has a video about the end times. Lots of lakes and the ocean's are connected by underground tunnels/caverns. They could even be living in a slightly higher dimension and only visible to us for a few mere seconds, whenever the situations right. Similar to Sasquatch. My my mind there's a lot of explanations for how it could be alive. Dinosaurs were around in the middle ages to. Dragons and many others

First account was actually with St Columba but that's up for debate for several reasons. First being, the encounter actually happened in the River Ness and not the actual Loch. Second reason, you could say that Columba's story is nothing more than an early version of religious PR because at the time, St Columba was trying to convert the Picts to Christianity.

IF there’s ONE, and it’s an animal, then there’s more than one. It’s a breeding colony of the things. Either that or it’s one animal that has been alive for multiple centuries, and that cannot be, because an animal that lived that long would be on speaking terms with the locals by now.

@@roddmatsui3554 Haha 'speaking terms with the locals' so true!! I personally don't believe that it's just ONE creature, Nessie ain't flying solo that's for sure. People will argue that there's not enough fish within the Loch to sustain a breeding colony but that's assuming that Nessie eats only fish. We now know that there's a ridiculous amount of Eels within the Loch, far more than we thought. There's also a few accounts where individuals have suggested that Nessie eats the shrubbery which surrounds the shores (see Arthur Kopit's account) and because we still haven't identified the creature it's impossible to say conclusively exactly what the creature eats.

@@TeamLNE What creature ? Show me this creature of which you speak and we can start to study and discuss what it does and doea not do. There's a reason why science demands a body.

A breeding population has to be around a few hundred living individuals. There is no way a few hundred giant monsters live in that small area without being credibly seen all the time. There is also no way that just ONE individual has lived there for thousands of years.

@@guitarista67 It's impossible to separate the image from Loch Ness, yeah it's a fake but it's actually a beautiful wee photo and world famous. I do agree with you though! Have you heard cryptozoologists Loren Coleman challenge on the fake? It's pretty poor and weak. Apparently according to him the materials used to create the model didn't exist back then, therefore it's impossible to be a hoax. REALLY!! The pyramids were built without today's technology and look at it now, it's still standing. Cryptozoology would gain more credit if individuals used logic!

Hmm.. by the graphic. I always thought of Nessie to be a sort of lovable Plesiosaur type cryptid. Never once did I imagine her with with sharp teeth and dangerous.

I saw Nessie once, from Urquhart Castle, apparently this is one of the best places along the bonnie banks of the Loch to catch a glimpse of the monster. 🦕😉

It's thought that the reason most of the sightings occur near Urquhart Castle is because there is a place to park a car there, so more people are likely to be there at any given time.

23:18 has telescope that can "see craters on the moon", but yet can't make out Nessie WHICH IS MUCH MUCH MUCH CLOSER!

As seen on the investigation of River Monsters, I still think it's an unusually large Sturgeon which are known to be able to grow to large large sizes

There's no big monster in the Loch, but the kid in me likes to think that long ago - there was.

A single creature cannot survive for hundreds of years so a breeding tribe/school/ pod etc would be needed to continue and sightings should be more prevelent. Before the traditional answer of trapped dinosaurs, Lock Ness came into being after the last ice age long after dinos went extinct. Recent DNA testing of the water has revealed the existence of eels. The lack of top end preditors may mean the existence of large specimens.

Loch Ness is 600 feet deep, and the water is murky with peat. Plenty of food. And whatever is there presumably would not be all alone. There have been several believable suggestions as to what keeps being seen there.

Now that virtually everyone carries a high-quality camera with them virtually all the time, the number of recorded images should be greatly increasing. Same for UFOs.

Its not a flesh and blood creature. I believe when people see it, they are seeing a glimpse of something from the past, like a time slip. People are definitley seeing something but it's not physical, that's why it can't be found

Your theory is fun and interesting but very unlikely as it doesn't explain sonar contact, land based sightings where impressions have be left and disturbances/wakes on the Loch. How do you recount a soldier in Vietnam from NY who saw Roman soldiers marching Past him in the heat of battle and he had no idea who they were but later he learned that they were Roman legionaries. He basically said he didn’t know who they were at the time but later he learned that by what we know Roman soldiers were dressed like back then it was what he saw …. I think the timelines rub parallel to ours and sometimes the computer blips and we see the past or the future .

@@panchopistola8298 I think because he was in the heat of battle that's perhaps why he seen this image. Warfare, PTSD and stress can cause serious hallucinations. The human mind is extremely sensitive and fragile especially in those situations. Again its your opinion and theory but I completely disagree with you. What individuals are seeing is a creature that is very much alive and present.

The West end surgeon's photo on 9:30 shows a very small monster, given the size of the waves around it. Looks like a turtle in a pond.

first twenty five minutes of this documentary presented camera footage evidence that i havent seen before and the sonar indication of a lochness-shaped figure. the two claims of loud boisterous disturbances in the water were also interesting.

I don't understand why they don't just simplify the question of whether a monster exists or not by calculating if there is a large enough food supply to sustain something that size for so long in the lake?

@@Hdrunenzi720 Yeah, exactly. They have done that. Spot on. The consumption pyramid (or whatever the name is) doesn't have enough at bottom to feed a predator at top.

*The 1960 Tim Dinsdale film is REAL, by the way* , and he filmed a motorboat after filming his aquatic animal - SPECIFICALLY as a control, as Dinsdale was an engineer - and most people who “examine” the film on KZread misidentify the boat, thinking that Dinsdale was dim or something. He wasn’t. He filmed a real animal. The JARIC analysis concluded as much. Dinsdale’s film does show a portion of the animal above the water, and behind that, the shadow, mostly underwater, of the large wide BODY, probably with extremities (fins or legs). The JARIC analysis did its best to measure what was above the water, and does not address the visible shadow behind the “hump” cruising above the surface. Study a decent copy of the Dinsdale film repeatedly and you will see much.

Let's wait & see. During the lockdowns of 2020 & 2021 without any or very few (noisy) boats or ppl on the water the critters must have felt more free than ever. It's likely someone secretly got good footage, so once over the fear of fines from breaking curfew they may release this footage💛 I do hope these beautiful creatures remain forever free❤️

Swim safely near the bank, plenty of beaches to go to as well. Take a buoy with you. If you're cold wear a wetsuit, there aren't many places in Britain where you can swim without anyway, unless you are used to cold water. If you are respectful of the waters and safe it is a stunning place to swim in.

Whatever this huge creature is , loch Ness is not it's home. This thing and others like him are just visitors. There should be a connection with ocean from underwater. according to map ( Google source) - At the northern end of lake , there is the Bona Narrows which opens out into Loch Dochfour, which feeds the River Ness and a further section of canal to Inverness, ultimately leading to the North Sea via the Moray Firth.

An old GPS setup and a fish finder isn't specialist kit.

Food source add birds floating on top of the water and then there are reports of sheep disappearing . Even reports of severe rain storms where the creature can slide on wet ground on land short distances for sheep etc .

Those computers are way outta date. I doubt that he has updated programs to identify that creature in the picture.

I am not so sure. You realise that they are looking for 30+ foot animals, not 'things' .They are looking for 1 example of 1 very large animal.

It's well known now a circus elephant went for a dip 👍

What if just what if that monster had actually swam up out of water unexpectedly while they on boat, they all be scared out their witts and boat would turn ova, they be all dead, never take a chance to see unknown, humans needs stay away let the monsters be.

If I put 1 orca in that lake...it would be clearly seen hundreds of times per year on camera, given the amount of tourism. Yet, some how a creature 10 times the size of an orca has never been seen on camera ever.

Science Fiction Channel had a movie with same theory about it being all the same creature travels thru underwater caves into deep lakes and deep rivers all across the world and that's why creature has never been caught. Don't let them catch you creature they'll hurt you.

Nothing more than a big salmon or sturgeon. They have been known to grow to more than 20 feet in length. Like my one eyed snake monster

Now, IF there was one of these in the loch at a time in the past. Where are it's bones? Seeing that the lake is a fresh water lake, wouldn't the bones still be there, or not? But, since it's been thousands of years since these existed, the probability of finding any bones is about like finding a 4 leaf clover. Not likely that any of these still exist. Not here anyway, not enough food and the water is too cold.

I notice we can't see anything in that film, reminds me of all the UFOs, grainy, fuzzy, and like all bank camera footage.

I don't think a lot of the people who claim to have seen it are telling the truth after listening to what they say. Some "eye witnesses" claim its this or that big, has flippers or 3 toed feet...., and some claim to be so shaken up that they continue to go near the water when they stated in interview that they're keeping their distance

Its a huge Catfish..a huge spotted Wells catfish...some pretty big Wolf Eels.also....GOD bless🙌🙌.

When I first saw that obnoxious surgeons photo when I was about 10, it looked like a cut out then! Laughable!!!!

I'm scottish and I fish different lochs ever week loch new just has a weird feeling about it

You have been 'primed'. I think that is what it is called in psychology. It is a normal reaction when you go to a loch that is 'supposed' to have a monster in it. Going into a house reputed to be 'haunted' feels different than going into a house without such a reputation. QED
