Really interesting history here Paul, you're going to be sending me down another internet wormhole again as I try to figure out exactly where he fits in with the history I know. Such a rich & long history around detroit that I don't have a good grip on at all, it's always great to get new info like this. Thank you! This was more typical subject matter for us than some of the things we're done recently, and we really had a good time doing this one. Yes, the sub count keeps going up, and for that we are very grateful.

So there was a chance the city of Detroit could have actually been called Cadillac

Yes, in a very real sense that could have been a possibility, especially given peoples' penchant for renaming things, but détroit actually is French for strait, in this case referring to the river (now the Detroit river) passing between the Great Lakes. However, Cadillac did have his legacy in the city of Cadillac in the northwestern part of the lower peninsula. I was there just two days ago.

Did they replace the GM sign on the Ren Cen with a led billboard?

Well, I don't know, but it is more common than you may think. It is not uncommon to see comments about things in background, both in my videos and other peoples' videos, that I would never have given a thought.
