Black Eyed Pilseung have just that little addictive taste to their song, some catchy magic little sounds that come out of nowhere. As a Once, I hope that they compose the next Twice comeback 🍭

Someone described this as "a sad bop" and that's exactly what it is. Even if you don't know Korean and you're just going by the sound, you know it's a dance track with sad lyrics because the hook tells you right away. You are hit with a wave of synth nostalgia and the vocals accompany it so perfectly that you get slightly emotional but at the same time you're just like *bopping along*

what apink has managed to do is absolutely incredible!! there's not many 2nd gen ggs left and of those still active/not disbanded, a lot of them have moved along past their prime; meanwhile, even 9 years into their careers, apink have managed to release hit after hit and keep a strong fanbase despite everything, finding a way to stay relevant even among the waves of 3rd and now 4th groups. apink are truly amazing and i hope they continue making music together for awhile longer.

People shout out SOTY ICONC LEGENDARY so loosely now. But in all honesty, this is truly soty potential, it is legendary and it goes up there in one of the best kpop releases of the new decade next to Psycho (even tho that came in technically in 2019)

i love how you said they have a sound and that they don't cater to kpop girl group trends. its so true. I also like how they don't stick a rap part into every one of their songs just to have a rap like all the other kpop groups. I'm so sick, Eung eung and dumhdurum don't have rap parts and doesn't follow the rap trend just for trend sake.

Production value is over 9000 with this one. How could they possibly surpass themselves next year? (But that's the question we asked the last 2 years too, so I bet they'll do it somehow) Their birthday is tomorrow btw, so they'll probably release something nice then.

yay for a reaction that isn't filled with incoherent overdramatic yelling every 2 seconds or less(have been watching too many lame ones due to boredom) n yay for Namjoo appreciation!!! very hard to find reactor that actually showed appreciation on Namjoo when it's so darn obvious how she stood out n killing it here(not just for her hair colour), well...she's always been underappreciated but i thought with this comeback...surely people won't be able to ignore her...apparently there are those who still manage to, shrugs. I'm no Apink stan but i do agree their songs have been impossible to ignore for these past three comebacks...these days kpop songs don't get me excited much anymore though i'll still try some to see what the hype's about....but this is definitely imo the catchiest girlgroup song of the year so far, i'd give the title for boygroup song to The Boyz' Reveal. i see other comments here saying Apink's songs have been awesome because of the composer n they list out the composers' other songs...but tbh, i'm not that impressed by some of the songs on the list so i'm glad Apink got the songs they did. n this reaction made me feel sad for green and yellow...i need to start stanning them, since i love rooting for underdogs. lol.

Chorong's part is what got me hooked on this song....that part just came out of nowhere, but it sounds so good

What I have observed is that Apink has gone into a different subgenre of pop than they used to. It sounds more mature without (hopefully) alienating their already large fan base familiar with their previous sound. It's a reinvention, and a very successful one at that imo. I think they've garnered attention from A LOT of kpop fans who came into the game after Apink's previous biggest hits by this reinvention and I can only pay my respects, like damn.

For this comeback it's combined 3 themes which the words you are looking for, colorful retro/bohemian chic/romantic punk.. apink is continously showing the maturity of their music but at the same time their innovence trademark is still there. Yes this comeback is definitely Namjoo's era, blonde hair and my fave lead vocal. Also we think that this mv is somehow inspired by the film murder on the orient express. For me as one of their debut fan, Apink can really slay any concept that in every comeback it exceeds my expectation.. they keep on growing always. So I say that this Dumhdurum is currently the best out of all their comebacks.

I was never a fan of Apink before, even though I did like a few of their songs Like l.u.v and nonono but at one point I just stopped checking their new releases because I don't really like that cute sound. But I'm so sick just got me mind blown. Like I've never seen such a successful change of career concept like this. They're already an old group and at this stage, most of the times changes don't work well and you feel like you're already sick of these old faces, but this was never the case for Apink. I feel like we're introduced to fresh new group that we have a lot to expect from. This is just so impressive

It's honestly insane how Apink have reached a second peak. People nowadays might not be fans of their earlier releases, but Nonono, Mr. Chu, LUV, etc really did make such an impact on the industry then and I can guarantee that those are the songs that the younger generation of idols were listening to in 2013-2014. Just the fact that Apink is in their 9th year of promoting (!!) and is STILL achieving such success? Honestly, who's doing it like them!

By the time most groups have enough experience to really nail concepts they disband or produce in a lazier way... Apink kept learning and kept going. Great teamwork.

Yes, APink kept going despite the hurdles they faced. They had credited this to the love they receive from fans, the leadership of Chorong, their teamwork, etc. It's especially hard for girl groups in kpop to stay together due to the misogynistic culture in SK. For example, APink's performance got cut off disrepectfully last year in a year end show. A lot of fans also pointed out how unfair the time allocation was for girlgroups compared to boygroups. Kpop (and its fans) has to change that mindset. They have been discriminating talented ladies for years (e.g. Sulli who committed suicide). But if these things are not going to get better any time soon, women in kpop have to be really tough to survive in this toxic industry. I'm glad APink has decided to stay together.

i'm so impressed by apink honestly!! they're almost ten years old as a group, and if I know anything about kpop, I know that groups don't last this long. I've been following them from the beginning (their debut song is one of my top ten favorite kpop songs EVER) and it's just so heartwarming to see them reinvent themselves as a group these past couple of years instead of doing the same style they were doing or selling themselves out, and it's really working for them. i'm really proud of them!

Once again, apink ladies will have one of the best songs of the year. For the kpop standard the amount of years they have been delivering bangers is surreal luv, mr chu or nono are pretty songs as well. Completely agree with you, i think they are the only ones to do it

Dumhdurum is a bop even now

In Bomi's "jal doen geo ya jjeom jjeom jjeom!" in the chorus, "jeom" means "period"(= . ) in Korean. In other words, 'jal doen geo ya, jjeom jjeom jjeom' can be interpreted as 'OKay, ···', which implies sensibility of written language.

What makes Apink stand out of what remains to be the 2/2.5 gen era is that their style and concept evolved. They didn't stick with once concept their whole career but molded it into something new yet suits their past. Sure, we can be frank and say they are far from competing with the top groups of the era, but to stay RELEVANT in an era where there's an oversaturation of new groups is still an amazing feat. These girls deserve the respect and popularity they have now for the legacy they built (if not, more).

what i love so much about this song is the first post-chorus. listening to it for the first time i was afraid they would do something to the beat that would be too basic and generic but ofc they didnt, they went softer, and THAT was something. amazing. i love them. not only they arent able to have a bad comeback at this point, they keep improving their vocals, which are some of the best in kpop rn in my opinion. also something ive grown to love about them is their dancing. theyre not crazy good dancers but they do it so smoothly (which i guess is thanks to them being around for quite some time now) that it just flows with the song so well...... Wow

I've been obsessed with this song. Apink is really an amazing group that I feel some fans are just forgetting about. Funny side note, I wasn't paying much attention to the lyrics until today and it kind of made me laugh because I'm going through a breakup right now and the lyrics just fit. I like the song a bit more now. It's for sure going on repeat!

This is definitely Namjoo’s era, even PD recognized that!

At first I thought this song was weaker than I'm So Sick and Eung Eung, but now I'm addicted to it and can see that it might actually be the most catchy one of the three(which explains how well it's doing on korean charts, though ISS and %% still deserved that too honestly).

I LOVE this song so friggin much!!! It is so nostalgic, reminding me of late 90s early 2000s American pop rock like the Cardigans or Six Pence None the Richer

I love this song so much, it’s so so good, Apink are queens of the comeback. For me the three groups that consistently deliver perfection after perfection are Dreamcatcher, Gfriend, and Apink. I echo what someone else already said, I heard this once and it’s been stuck in my head ever since.

Telling someone who has a different opinion than you to “stop making excuses for them” sends a message I don’t think Buddy or Insomnia would support, do you? We all have different music tastes and that should be respected; nobody is being forced to listen to music that isn’t to their tastes-just because I love Scream for example, and maybe you don’t, that doesn’t mean I’m “blindly supporting” Dreamcatcher it means we don’t share the same tastes.

I am OBSESSED with this song. I’ll be trying to write my story and then this song comes on, I immediately lose focus because I just wanna song and dance. 😆 I don’t know how to explain it but when I listen I picture a retro party with a disco light and everything! It brings me back to the older kpop groups music, which is fitting since Apink has been around for a long while! I wasn’t into Apink that much, I loved No No No but that’s about it. But now, 2019 and 2020 they have completely blown me away. I’m So Sick & Eung Eung were bops. Dumhdurum is my fave song of theirs so far. I hope they keep this sound up bc it’s so good!!

i think Apink success isnt just one moment. I keep seeing them at their highest, drop down and then able to get back up to their peak again. i think group that able to do that last forever if they choose to stick together. Also, they get along very well and unproblematic.

I don't wanna rush but we might be in front of one of the best songs in 2020 like top 5, and im not a BIG Apink fan, i mean i like them and i really like their last releases, but THIS? This is just amazing. The video its beautiful, they are gorgeous, all of them, the colors, the sets, the photography in this video is on point. The choreo its breathtaking, not only is a great choreo, but it fits PERFECTLY with the song. And the song... what to say about this song, i can listen this song (and i did) like 4 times in a row and its never enough, that old vibe to it, that mature sound, those synths, the beat, its chill but makes you move as well, its not too hard and not too soft, the melody of the voices and that every single one of them sings their part so well, everytime its over im like "this cannot be over!" and i have to play it again. And even tho i like Apink, and i love kpop, im a musician that likes ALL kind of music, meaning, im not just a biased fan, i like a lot of diferent genres, but im always really strict, and i pay attention to little details, and let me tell you this is EXQUISITE. Well done Apink, and well done to those who made this piece of art. Congrats to all of them.

I love their music bc you’re right they don’t follow trends. What I love about them is that they always flow with their music. The trend of having a millions different tracks into one song is messy sounding and I’m so tired of that.

It's easy, Apink is a veteran group. They know fully well what their strength is and not afraid of exploring new grounds either. Going from Mr.Chu/NoNoNo to LUV to this, third transition to become the group they are today

I wasn't into Apink back in their peak but since Only One I've been so hooked on them! Their production has stepped up to make them the best example of refined, catchy and fresh pop sound from the female kpop group nowadays.
