    The four sons that accompanied King George V on what was to be his last Trooping the Colour were Edward, Prince of Wales (in a few months to become King Edward VIII), Prince Albert, Duke of York (in a year and a half to become King George VI when Edward abdicates), Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, and Prince George, Duke of Kent.

    The Duke of Kent was killed in an aircrash while in the army during the war.

    They are closer in date to the Crimean War than to today !

    I had not looked at it that way but now, it puts a whole different perspective upon it. It was interesting to note that, unlike today, all of the guardsmen were of a similar height and body shape.

    @@hawkmoon03111951 As an ex guardsman from late seventies to the eighties there was a similar build as well and height ,that has all changed I see guardsman now five foot and with bearskin looksridiculous
