    Great seeing another HPI on the channel! HPI have always fitted underpowered servos. I remember the stock servo on my XS was something ridiculous like 6kg. That said, the power systems in HPIs have always been really strong so swings & roundabouts.

    Hey bud I use to run a savage x 4.6 old school model now. I loved it ! Was wicked fun and one of the most durable trucks / cars I seen at the time .. Out of the box. What do you think is more durable ? The HPI Savage X XL Flux v2 or the HPI Vorsa S Truggy ? Im torn between the 2. I dont like how there is no top chassis brace in the Vorsa S. The Vorsa S is a fair bit lower to.

    @@savagex466-qt1io I don’t have the Savage XL flux V2. But I do have the Savage Flux V2 and the new Vorza S truggy. Honestly you can’t go wrong with either truck. The Vorza is really nice quality and it drives amazing. It’s also very fast truggy even on 4S. It’s simple to work on also being a flat pan style chassis. And the 7075 metal parts are nice looking and seem to be high quality. I’ve yet to break anything on it. But if you are wanting a true monster truck style driving experience with brute power the Savage Flux V2 offers that. I could not believe how explosive it is in power delivery. It’s also built like a tank the twin chassis plates are very strong. It just needs a steering servo upgrade and I think it will be in my collection for a long time!

    Actually most people don’t know this, but you accidentally got it correct. There are CVDs in the front. Dog bones are in fact a type of constant velocity drive shaft. CVAs are as well (and the most well known). Universal drive shafts are however NOT constant velocity. Interesting that they used hub extenders. Normally these cause the bearings to fail prematurely. These things take time... I know from working with ARRMA all those years that by the time an amendment needs to be done, it's usually already too late. We are seeing this truck now, but it's probably been in development for 18 months and even with my feedback, it will take several months to find a suitable servo, test and implement it into the production line. And that's not taking into account the crazy logistics that everyone is dealing with right now. So we may not see a servo update until the next version of this truck.

    Electric or Nitro ? What do you think Guys ?

  • @crazylarryjr
    @crazylarryjr2 жыл бұрын

    if those are the knock off deans, I'd agree with you and they probably are. but true W.S. Deans connectors are just as good as any other connector on the market had a Gorrillamaxx chassied electric converted Revo (long before there was an E Revo and a gorillamaxx Emax, both were run on 6s power and used Deans connectors exclusively. the revo had a Mamba max (the v1 with a unofficial 6s capability) and the Neu 1515 2.5d (1600KV), Emaxx had a Quark 120 car esc with a Fegaio (The chinese 2 pole motors of the time) 10XL (I think about 1600 KV as well). both were capable of pulling 100 amps sustained (Eagletree verified) on deans with 0 issues. Now on higher s lipos (8=) I'd go with something bigger but up to 6s, I'd have no issue trusting a genuine W. S. Deans connector despite the Claimed 60 amp rating

  • @AussieRCPlayground

    @AussieRCPlayground

    2 жыл бұрын

    Despite your good experience with DEANS, I will never use them again. Whether they were real or fake, I had too many get too hot to touch, some de-soldered from the wires and had a couple weld themselves together during use on 6S. I used DEANS for over 10 years and would swear by them for the longest time, but once these big & powerful cars came along, it was all over for the D plugs. Originally designed to connect speaker wire, DEANS was never meant to handle the amp draw these power systems put out. So I switched my 1/10 to XT60 and anything bigger got upgraded to XT150 plugs. Haven't had a single issue since. Temps went down across the board on the electrics, got better throttle response, longer run times and increased top speed. I'd still back DEANS up to 3S, maybe even 4S if it's not a crazy power system, but anything above that is just a bottleneck on the system. If they work for you because they're genuine or because of brand or whatever, then great, but I can never recommend them based on the experience I've had with them.

  • @davidmellish3295

    @davidmellish3295

    2 жыл бұрын

    I think most companies use copies,as opposed to genuine Deans,think a lot call them T connectors and they're the ones that aren't to be trusted past 4s max. Companies like Wltoys use them and for their really cheap cars you know they ain't proper Deans . Obviously these are a lot more but I was told that they still don't use the genuine Deans. I agree with you that the genuine article is fine,I think most people don't trust em cause they've only used the copies. In fact most people don't even use em they just switch straight away

    @@davidmellish3295, That's my point, I've never ever used anything outside of a W. S. Deans, straight out of a Deans wrapper. I even jerked off the Spektrum plug and put deans on my Big Rock. Now admittedly the Ovonic batteries use a T plug and i can't verify if it's true deans, but they have given me no trouble in 3s and 1/10 scale MT bashing. HPI used to be at the top of their game with durability and most of their kits used to be Made in Japan at one point. Then compromises started happening and they shifted to Taiwan (Still ok, although not acceptable to me). Apparently, under the third ownership they've shifted the production further to China! Now that's downright cheap and it shows clearly in all their current kits. The cheap feeling plastics, anodizing and even the durability sucks for what it is. But on the other hand, their prices are higher than the competition for some reason. It would be really stupid to buy a Chinese made low quality truck with durability issues and lack of parts support right now. Yes, if they decide to produce their kits in Europe and Japan at this price with better quality, I'm game!

I wish you the best thanks your friendly neighborhood Doorman william from NYC forgettaboutit 👊 😀

    2 things; first, the video is titled "unboxing", so why you were expecting to see a driving video is beyond me. Secondly, my unboxing videos are detailed, it's what sets me apart from other channels that pay little attention to the features of the RCs they're showing. Driving videos will come soon, so you'll see the truck driving then. Thanks for checking the video.

    Really? Interesting math you got there... This truck retails here for $1150, the DBXL-E is $1950, the Losi 5ive-T is $2300-ish... So how is a 1/5 scale cheaper? 🤔

    @@AussieRCPlayground You are right about those cars, but i had in mind the 1/5 Kraton and 1/5 Outcast. Anyways just my opinion ;) Love your videos :)
