    I've had the xs and yes 3s is kinda over kill but is a blast. But with a 2s it's more controllable but with tires with better grip, 3s works well, very fun little rc.

    I have owned so many RC cars and converted so many to an ultimate setup. The original Savage Flux XS was the most durable blast out of the box of any car I've owned anywhere near this scale. Next closest is the XMaxx.

    I call mine Taz. It’s ridiculously fast and furious. My main “send it” basher. Overbuilt for abuse and speed. You gotta upgrade the axles and cups after they disintegrate in a month or so but that’s about it.

    The Hot Racing axles and cups lasted a bit longer. But they eventually blow out. Haha ..,currently running brand new stock cups again. I think it’s just over powered and brutal ,but I like it. I rebuilt it completely but I needs a new body too.

    After watching it drive it looks like they changed some suspension setup from original, looks like it needs softer springs and shock oil, also seems like less suspension travel than they used to have? The gear train is quite noisy, maybe some cva's and plastic spur gear if it's metal stock? Are you going to show us 3s and some speed run comparisons?

  • @fmc7209
    @fmc7209 Жыл бұрын

    Hey Razor! You should take a look at the Kyosho Mad Wagon, from what I’ve seen it desperately needs some “Razor tune” on the suspension

  • @Eccentric5B

    @Eccentric5B

    @@RazorRC Well yes...........if you really do get both of them! The kits are about $750 (and include wheels/tires). For the gas version you'll need an engine and a couple servos. You can be all in for around $1000 or so give or take. Brushless will end up a little bit higher. Motor/esc/batts plus a steering servo. More expensive than a high end 1/8 scale RTR to be sure, but not far from a high end race 1/8 buggy/truggy. The experience will be worth it. I still have and enjoy my original Baja 5B.

    Get HPIs own hardened drive cups for the whole truck before they wear and lock up and wreck more stuff, keep the slipper pretty much locked up as once it slips, it forever slips and melts the pads

    I opted for the CVDs over dogbones and hardened axles, but i think they’re weaker. Smoother experience and they don’t go flying out when they pop out the cups

    Bro you have psoriasis too? I only ask because your nails look like all of my toe nails. Psoriatic arthritis. Just a heads up with that truck. If they have not changed anything with the clutch, it will start slipping especially if it gets wet. PIA to get to the transmission. To me it looks the same as my older one. Very fun, CRAZY fast on 3s and very tough truck. Love it honestly lol.

    Had one and didn’t like it at all. The drivetrain noise was horrific even after checking mesh and replacing the spur. Constantly replacing drive cups and bending dog bones on even 2S. If I remember correctly the low speed throttle control was also quite poor - lots of cogging. Finally, the shock absorbers were not smooth due to the springs contacting the threaded body. All in all, one of the most disappointing vehicles I’ve bought!

    That just doesn’t seem any better than a lot of the imex and other random brands of same trucks (ha) puts out for sub $200 - around even $200 after getting oil filled shocks. Would like to see a comparison between the similar sized wltoys monster Truck do see if it’s worth 2x money. Looks fun. I love this size truck. They just so rarely truly break and parts are Cheap.
