The Kimera Automobili EVO37 is an Insane Thrill Ride of a Car - BTS with DTS - Ep. 11
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
It takes a very special car to match or even exceed the thrill of a Ferrari F40, but Kimera Automobili’s Lancia 037 tribute, the EVO37, does exactly that. In this video, Derek Tam-Scott visits Cuneo, Italy, the birthplace of this absurd creation and goes for a very wild ride with its creator, Luca Betti. Betti is a former rally driver and it shows in the EVO37. Like the original 037, it uses the center section of a Lancia Beta Montecarlo with new front and rear ends, together with a forced induction version of the iconic Aurelio Lampredi Fiat twin-cam engine. With over 500hp, rear wheel drive, and less than 2500 pounds, the EVO37 is a very spicy meatball. But it’s also beautiful to look at and very much a fitting homage to one of the most successful rally cars of all time, a car that defined the start of the iconic Group B era.

In this one, the drone shots seem fine, and some of the on-road shots are good too. I think the in-car shots in particular, are definitely lower quality than many of the others Derek presents. (Yes, I know there isn't a back seat space in the EV037, where a camera could be mounted, or a cam operator could sit. I'm still confident that much better shots have been taken in similar smallish cars, in previous DTS vids.)

What could be more sick 😂? - Old school street driven sleeper engine of lancia 2L 8V is also potential and just needs a little bit more engine love. 8V engine showed around 618Hp / 783Nm in dyno. Integrale 8V had more power than in modern Ford WRC 16V rally cross engine, which also was tuned and tested for comparison. 16V WRC type rally cross engine of course has more potential but nasty class mod. limitations prevent 600+.

Since lots of people are commenting… the seat and steering wheel position in this car were not final as it is a preproduction car (Chassis 001). It is a twin-charged engine with the supercharger engaging below 4,000rpm when it disengages using a clutch and the turbo takes hold. Similar to the Delta S4

Thank you: This car is gorgeous both physically & mechanically and this video takes me back to the early 80's. At 15, I had a Saturday job helping out at a local Lancia garage, before leaving school to start an engineering apprenticeship with Audi. Spending a lot of my weekends on rally stages, it was the most wonderful time to be a petrolhead. I was torn between my heart (Lancia) and my head (Audi) but new cars were beyond my reach, so at 18 I bought a beautiful used Beta HPE. My friends laughed and joked that it would wash away in the rain but it had such character, that I could forgive it anything. Forty years later, I'm still torn and both my 'rally heroes' are still beyond my reach but in my fantasy garage, there would be both a Sport Quattro and an 037 - just because, head and heart.

I instantly, and desperately, want one of these. What a stunning vehicle. I wouldn't change anything, other than requesting a RHD version.
And here I thought for years and years I wanted to build a Stratos kit car and make it my own in every way (which I still may do) This though is an absolute work of art.. With how much it costs I can say confidently that I would much rather have this than any super, top tier luxury, or hyper car on the market hands down and is now one of the most exclusive, true enthusiasts machines money can buy. I sincerely hope that they do another limited release modern rendition of the S4 in the same vein.
