    Also the game Lobotomy Corporation was a kickstarter failure, but a successful game. It’s a rogue like management simulator where you have to manage SCP like “abnormalities” for their energy. It only raised 3k out of the 40k goal they had, and yet the game still came out in its buggy glory. Despite its rough launch, being scammed out of translation work, it became a successful game and it’s sequel, deckbuiliding game Library of Ruina, is one of the top rated games on Steam right now.

    Yes, but in order for it to qualify as an actual scam, it would have to be completely abandoned, full of empty promises, and few to no employees actually working on the project. That is not the case with Star Citizen. Although plenty of SC fans are not happy with the way things have been handled, it is far from abandoned, and there are real people making real money working on the project. They don't have a deadline because it's not in any contract, but they have not given up on the project. It's funny and tempting to give into labeling it as a "scam", but it just doesn't fulfill the requirements needed to actually be a genuine scam. It will most likely be in the alpha stage for at least another ten years, but that doesn't make it a scam, either.

    34:00 for any kickstarter claiming to use lasers, it's important to understand that lasers are very strictly regulated. Operating lasers that can do any kind of useful work usually requires a safe environment that's supervised by a laser safety technician. So a lot of them just get booted off the site immediately because they're way too dangerous. Using a "laser" that travels through some kind of fiber optic will circumvent most of those requirements, but it clearly doesn't work lol For context on why the safety is so finnicky: Eyes are VERY vulnerable to lasers because our lens focusses the beam onto a tiny spot, dramatically increasing its energy density. A laser that's strong enough to cut things is usually so strong that even a REFLECTION of the laser can realistically blind somebody. So you must wear laser safety goggles and create a reflection-safe environment.

    You know what else began on Kickstarter? The first transatlantic signal cable. Okay, not Kickstarter as we know it today, but back in those days (1850s) there was a thing called 'raising a public subscription', which was basically crowdfunding by another name. The first try was a horrific failure, but they learned their lessons fast... and in the end they not only laid the North America/Britain cable but they went and fished out the loose end of the lost one and connected that as well. One note, if something is priced in euros, it should include VAT taxes (around 18-25%). This usually means that the dollar sticker price is less than that, because those prices never include taxes. Not sure how they do in Kickstarter or similar shops, but in everywhere I know, € sticker price always include VAT taxes.

  • @youtube-kit9450

    @youtube-kit9450

    Yup. And I don't get why in the US, the price isn't written with it included. It's nice imo to see what you have to pay in the end, and how much of it is VAT or sales tax is usually written on the receipt and stuff anyways. Meanwhile, it's a headache to buy stuff on a limited budget in the US cuz you have to calculate beforehand (which also can be a pain because the tax can vary from state to state) etc. It'd be so convenient for customers, and with how much managers throw their workers under the bus to pander to Karens, I deadass don't know why stores don't do this for customers.

    As far as I know, I don't live in America, this is because different states have different taxes. And in order to save the Company the work of calculating the price separately for each state and adjusting everything, the basic price is used. This also supposedly makes it easier for consumers to compare prices.

  • @Monsux

    @Monsux

    @@yaarikablubb8871 That wasn't the point, even tho I know this. Sale taxes and VAT are different for a reason. I just point this VAT difference on sticker prices on EU, because most people have no idea about currencies, conversons and tax differences on sticker/launch prices on EU and US (also other countries and currencies). It's 100% ok to have the release price with no added sale tax, but when there's side by side prices (US 0% tax price and EU 20% VAT price)... Now it's just weird, because VAT amount is all over the place in the EU. Would be ok if there was always clear massive markings that highlights the added VAT % so none can miss it.

    The Gordonator sounds a lot like a conspiracy theory I heard a while back. Basically it’s about this engine that can create an endless amount of energy but it’s not being used ‘cause big oil, but the blueprints for it are like super complicated or only theoretical and like super super deep parts of the internet has it. So basically standard hoki-poki conspiracy stuff, but hearing about the Gordonator sparked that memory so I’d figured I’d share

    As far as the Mokase goes, I'm guessing it got suspended due to the sheer danger of the idea. If the phone case is supposed to heat up the coffee, it'll also heat up the phone and potentially damage it or at least make it unusable for a while due to overheating, and you could accidentally switch it on in your pocket and burn yourself. Not to mention the awful idea of having coffee directly beside your phone, inside of the thing meant to protect it. One puncture or drop and your phone is toast. Water resistance does not extend to coffee.

  • @hedgehog3180

    @hedgehog3180

    Water resistant phones would be coffee resistant as well since coffee is mostly water but when this launched I don't think any phones were water resistant.

  • @ItsJoLapo

    @ItsJoLapo

    3 ай бұрын

    @@hedgehog3180 Not true at all. The problem lies when the coffee evaporates. Even water can leave behind minerals when it evaporates, and this is what leads to corrosion, which is where water damage wreaks its havoc. Coffee is the same but worse, as there is more there that can't evaporate off, so it further promotes corrosion and issues. Just because a phone is waterproof doesn't mean its coffee proof. Or soda proof. Or juice proof. If it cannot evaporate cleanly, it will corrode the phone. Sugar is one of the worst things for corrosion, and its usually in all 3. Hell, even "waterproof" phones aren't fully invincible to water itself and are still susceptible to water damage, its just harder to do. Time of exposure is another factor. Leave a waterproof phone underwater for 24 hours, there's about a 50/50 that the water found its way into the phone. 30 minutes, you're likely fine. Also brother what are you doing this comment is 7 months old. You responded to an old ass comment just to be wrong💀

The bugs are like part of game and like everyone knew how to circumvent most of them. You need an insane PC and a lot of time. Spawning on the wrong Planet can lead to a like 30 min flight you need to do to get to your friends. Still like the only game where you can fly a ship with multiple people inside manning different turrets/roles etc. Many people paid around a thousand on ships and tanks.
