Wanted to see if I could hold my breath for 47 seconds just to test the triton hypothesis because I have asthma and scarring in my lungs, so I theoretically shouldn’t be able to hold my breath for that long. I started to feel a little uncomfortable around 52 seconds, and decided to take a breath around 1 minute. so… yup, even a person with sh*t lungs can outdo their video 😂

Another thing to note about John C. Lilly's dolphin house, the female caretaker for the dolphin was not in a sexual relationship with the dolphin, the caretaker had to "relieve" the dolphin so it would behave/focus during sutdies since dolphins are one the few animals that have sex for pleasure. Obviously when the media caught wind of this they overexaggerated their finding which led to the end of the experiment. That specific dolphin had to be released back into the wild which caused many issues for them since they weren't accustomsed to fending for themselves.

Re the Gordonator, the laws of thermodynamics *are* the right area to be looking, but in theory something like this could be sound. The law states that in a closed loop system you can't get more energy out than you put in, but the energy use section and energy generation section (in this case) are two different closed loops. The wench (winch) turns electrical energy into kinetic energy (converts the energy) while the generator turns kinetic energy from the downward force into electrical energy (converts it back). In theory, with an efficient enough conversion system (a better dynamo for the kinetic conversion, for instance, that doesn't lose most of its energy to heat) this could work to some degree. Would it be worth the work? Probably not, it is the basic idea of numerous perpetual motion machines and none of them have proven to work thus far. The biggest issue (ignoring energy lost to other routes, like heat...probably one of the worst) is that over time the machine will get less and less efficient as it wears down. In a perfect world, built with the right parts and with a lot of money invested in it, it might generate more electricity than it uses for a little while...but you'd be better off buying a solar panel as those things generate a semi-stable amount of electricity without needing major maintenance and they generally last 10+ years before needing to be replaced.
