I think you kinda underexaggerated the biggest problem of sonic 06: The game wasn't finished. No literally, it wasn't finished. Sega rushed it out the door and refused to delay it and eventually realized it couldn't run on the wii, so they took half the staff of 06 and moved them to a different game. Like there are major mechanics that just weren't programmed in, letting you do things like just fly over levels. Not only was it a bad game, it's quite possibly the most famous bad/unfinished game and it almost killed the sonic franchise. He became an industry laughingstock and still is to this day.

@@christinarawlings948 That's why 3D Sonic was riddled with issues. It's this one button mentality, while every other platformer, even at that time, used more than just one button to do stuff like attacking, jumping etc., which also results in less simplistic/boring level design due to the expanded moveset (a.k.a you can do more tricks with the character you're playing with while using said tricks and whatelse not). 3D Sonic is just too simplified in terms of control scheme and it's probably the main reason it struggled throughout the decades.

See, if The Quiet Man wanted to make people who can hear feel the same frustration as the deaf, they should've just had everyone using sign language, and then the second playthrough have the subtitles. It'd give anyone who knew sign language the ability to tell the story right away, inclusive to the deaf and those who are considerate to the deaf, and an exclusion to those who take hearing and speaking for granted, inverting the status quo,. • @glidershower

The levels have to do with the rarity and lack of exposure of the games rather than popular concensus. I actually think some of the games of the lower tiers aren't as bad as those at the very top. I played Superman64 as a kid back in the day, rented it from the local video store for the weekend. Those where the worst $5 bucks I've ever spent, I gave up the same night I rented it, and felt so horribly cheated. When even a fucking kid can say your game is garbage, _it is absolute garbage._ I'm so glad I didn't gave up on that store, because just the next weekend, they were selling some of them, and I bought what ranks as one of my top 5 vidya I ever had, _Mischief Makers._ And to think the guy running the joint sold it for just 10 bucks to me because "he didn't get it", kek. But seriously, fuck Superman64, and also that Power Rangers game for the 64. I am still burning with rage despite that happening more than 20 years ago. Even Sonic 06 was better than fucking Superman64.

Aside from some missing well known examples like Drake of the 99 Dragons, some of the positioning of listed games on the Iceburg chart don’t feel right (Chicken shoot and Elf bowling should be a little higher up and CID the dummy a little lower down). At least this wasn’t a very similar Iceburg chart that for some reason put Goat Simulator on theirs (by no means have I seen GS being considered as one of “the worst games of all time” since it was intentionally designed to be glitchy and wacky because it is a parody game and all and most people really seem to like it)

I'm surprised no one mentions the game Journey of the Light, an indie game that came out on Steam back in 2015. It was a puzzle game where you play as a floating ball of light and you must light lamps scattered around eight large levels to beat the game. The issue is, there weren't eight levels, but just one. Players who bought the game couldn't get past the first level and when the game was datamined, players discovered the game consisted entirely of the first level. When players accused the game's developer, Lord Kres, of scamming consumers, he explained that the game consisting of only one level was the result of a glitch caused by releasing a bug fix patch, and that the glitch didn't occur after he playtested the game with the patch installed. He had built up a small following as an up-and-coming indie developer after he showcased early builds of a game called Voxelized, which came out after Journey of the Light, funnily enough.

@@RetroLogan64 I guess so, though the list seems to be more about games generally disliked by the public rather than all of the games being genuinely terrible (I doubt Sonic R is that bad). The devs and community do have passion for the game though which I will not deny and I can't wait to see what revamps the update will bring, since the new changes do look interesting and might greatly improve the game.

They've probably been fixed by now, but from what I know, your game could freeze entirely while fighting a boss, or having a particularly extensive battle, causing you to have to load a previous save. There's a good review of the game by the user Running Shine, though you've probably already seen it. Also there's the cringe mechanic with Rory that assigns a value to how many times you'd been dismissive or mean to him, which would cause him to commit suicide and would completely erase his existence from the game pretty much.

For Big Rigs there was an update that added moving AI (although the AI never finished so there's still no way to lose) and fixed (in most definitions of the word) the "You're Winner" graphic. Life Of Black Tiger was also thrust into infamy when the trailer was posted to PlayStation's official KZread page despite the amateurish, everything, leading to people questioning Sony's quality control. The Slaughtering Grounds, along with Digital Homicide's other games, were all removed from Steam in 2018 after the studio attempted to get Steam to give them the full names and addresses of the people they were attempting to sue for their bad reviews of Slaughtering Grounds and other games. Steam refused the request and subsequently terminated their relationship (or whatever they call it) with Digital Homicide over it.

The actual plot of The Quiet Man is *wild.* There's so much bizarre shit about ancient Gods, chosen one prophecies, and identical twins that you have literally no chance of figuring it out without subtitles. If the intention was to have you try and follow along based on body language, they wrote the story in a way that goes against that in every way possible. I suggest you look it up, cause it's so much crazier than you could possibly imagine Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis and Superman: The Man of Steel belong together in a double feature listing because just like the CDI platformers, they are the same game. Somehow the staff transferring from Atari to TDK managed to bring over the entire source code and landed *another* contract with DC Comics, and what they made was a reskin of a game that was terrible to begin with. How these bandits got away with such a scam in broad daylight is beyond me. They were responsible for Dark Tomorrow too, but that game is at least different from the other two

I express my admiration for the amazing work you did there. There was only one game I was expecting, but did not see - Limbo of the Lost. But I thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless

Superman 64 got me in trouble for cure sing for the first time. I remember it came out around the start of a summer break when I was around 9 or 10 and being bummed out because I didn’t have an N64, but all my friends did. It was a big deal for em. I didn’t get a chance to play it till around a month later after hearing a few friends talk about how awesome it was. When we finally got to play it together it was the first time I ever used a naughty word. I told everyone that “the game is crap” and I got tattled on.
