I had a similar situation with LTT's videos recently. I accidently re-watched their video on how to legally pirate retro games, and only realized it was an older video when I noticed the newest video in the recommended videos list... then the date, and finally, Oh this seems very familiar for some reason.

Never mind what has happened to E3 which was long overdue it's death, I seriously hope that Cornflake Homunculous NEVER dies. He's what we all need.

Steph found 5 games to celebrate, versus having a hard time culling the worst list to only 10: now that's an indictment on the industry at large.

I love Steph for reasons of journalistic integrity and because they keep pounding into walls with messages bad people would rather dissapear... But honestly, this year had more than 10 good games. Most of them Indie rather than triple A, though, so that may not be exonerating the industry much.

I'm pretty sure they make it a point to include more games on the shitty list, not out of an inability to find good games but because they know more of their viewers are there to see the truly awful shit get trashed rather than good games get praised -- something they've alluded to numerous times before, including in this video. Basically it"s more of a statement on us than anything else :( I also suspect though that when JSS does find a game worthy enough of praise, they want to actually take the time to do it justice, hence condensing this video to 5 games instead to allow more time to talk about each game without inflating the video length too much. The sort of thing that the Game Advertisements could have afforded to do better with regard to its developer speeches.

The cornflake humunculous is my favorite and seeing their continued health and happiness brings a tear to my eye. They really seem to be thriving and I'm so happy to see such a majestic creature being treated with the respect an dignity they deserve.

Glad to see Clash: Artifacts of Chaos get the recognition it deserves! Damn fine game.

Genuinely appreciate the recommendations. I remember the Boneraiser review from back when I played it at launch and was wondering what else would be on this list. I played the original Theatrhythm years ago but lost my copy midway through, glad to hear the series is still doing well

I wish there was a Kickstarter for running that Activision ad during the Superbowl.

I'd like to give a shoutout and recommendation to Super Lesbian Animal RPG which came out last year but after the Jimquisition Best of list of 2022 (it came out on dec 20th) An absolutely fantastic traditional turn based RPG, with a great cast that really emphasizes an incredible story about communication and trust, themes of trans allyship, and romance. And not like... people falling in love, people BEING in love, and what comes after, which very few stories actually focus on. So many stories treat a relationship like an end goal instead of just the beginning, so it meant a lot to me to see a lesbian relationship highlighted where the two lovers are together from the start, and their story is more about being together, rather than GETTING together. Its also funny as hell

I've been doing the rescue team thing in Wonder. I love that it's a thing you can do. After I 100%'d the game, I started to go back to harder levels, and help struggling players make it through them. I've got the final final stage committed to muscle memory at this point, lol.

Aside from BG3, I'd never even heard of these games. Thanks for expanding my knowledge.

While I greatly enjoy you shitting on games (and their publishers) for being fucking terrible, this video always helps me find absolute gems that I somehow missed. Thank god for you.

I loved Zeno Clash 1 and 2 and literally did not even know there was a 'spiritual successor' or whatever from the same studio out this year. ACE Team's games really fly under the radar for how good they are.

I'm surprised Street Fighter 6 didn't make the list after the glow up it got. Perhaps it's in 6th place; fitting, if so. Thankies for another Great Award Show Better than the Other Award Show Show!

I loved the first Zeno Clash! I didn't even know there was a new one.

Also want to point out that Boneraiser Minions was extremely quick to put in accessibility settings that let you color yourself, enemies, and enemy projectiles in easy to distinguish outlines, plus stuff like lower opacity of your minions and attacks, making the visual overload easier on your eyes, which is great for people like me with smaller older brains. I've seen other games since then implement such features. Thanks bro.

Its so fucking strange we even got not just a decent rpg but an amazing rpg in this day and age
