So, are you saying the show on forever? Are you shitting me no show is gonna be forever because one thing actors they wouldn’t wanna spend their wings and do other things with acting and try to get other acting job. I don’t wanna be known for these characters, forever, and then on top of that no-show last forever Because eventually you get older and everything else and on top of that the right is gonna run out by dears and everything else and then on top of that the rain is that’s why she canceled too. The rain needs to go down and most the shows canceled. The ratings went down A lot of people didn’t watch the show anymore.

Damn $26k is $144k in today's money. Florence was making dough. To give you an idea of what $26k could get you in the 70s - let's use use 1975 for an example. This was the cost of living back then. Of course the figures varied based on location, but these were the average prices. Median Household Income: Approximately $11,800 per year. Median Home Price: Around $39,300. Rent: Approximately $200 per month for a two-bedroom apartment (what?? 🤯) New Car: About $4,250. Gallon of Gasoline: $0.57. Loaf of Bread: $0.33. Gallon of Milk: $1.57. Dozen Eggs: $0.77. Postage Stamp: $0.10.

Thank you for knowing this. I’m 45 and wasn’t around but I downloaded the conversion app for the inflation deal and I put numbers in all the time and google house prices/ median wages/ etc for whatever year I’m looking at. And I’m blown away but I’m even more blown away that there are people older than me that don’t even get it.

  • @BronzieDean

@@pistachiosandpopcorn7146 my pleasure. I also wasn’t around then either - I’m only 34. I had to look up that data 😁. It’s crazy how much prices have gone up. In the early 2010s you could still buy a house in most states for $150k or rent an apartment for $800. Finding one for that price today would be a miracle. I've been looking at the market in Atlanta and I see they're charging California prices now. There’s a couple of factors that contribute to prices going up -inflation is of course inevitable, but corporate greed is another. Did you know that hedge funds, also known as corporate landlords, have been bulk buying single-family homes revamping them, and then renting or selling them at exorbitant prices? Plus, when tech giants like Google and Apple set up shop, they drive up housing prices, making them unaffordable for people like you and me.

When George hears that that person will be in charge of who gets the cleaning contract, George tries to get Florence to accept the job so he can have a good shot at it. She accepts the job.
