this plane was never intended for dogfights, but for ground attacks, beside that it was heavily armored, it could even fly when most hydraulic system were damaged!

Honestly, from all the hype around the top dogs, I completely missed this plane coming out at the first announcements. It was a pleasant surprise that we get another unique airframe, and it looks quite fun as well. Looking forward to it!

It wasn't announced. People spotted an unfinished model on the dev server and then it just dropped with the update. There's no devblog for it, was only listed in the patch notes.

It’s also the first Brazilian plane in the game. Or at least partially Brazilian, some of those AMXs were build by Embraer.

I was so glad to see them adding it, I love light strike/fighter aircraft so much, it's a shame we only have a few. Would love to see Dornier Alpha Jet, FA-50, MB-339, etc.

I think the Brazilian modernized AMX will be better maybe in premium techtree. it has 4°++ generation avionics and an advanced air to air and air to ground radar.

Brazil managed to modernize 3 AMXs. The upgrade is a new radar,HMD and GPS, thats pretty much it. Ingame an HMD is useful

It’s been my favorite aircraft so far from this update. Such a neat niche little thing!

I really hope they expand the AMX line, there is one that gets Aim 9 L/I’s Which is an improved 9L, which practically splits the difference between the 9L and the 9M It should also get better flight performance with a slightly better engine And there is a heck of a lot of trainers that would fly extremely similarly, if just slower then the AMX

Interesting thing about this plane, it has no search radar but it does have a ranging radar which can for whatever reason still slave the aim-9L's seeker head so with that on you dont have to point your nose directly at the target

Would love to see more fun 10.0 level aircraft added to the game

I actually saw one irl it was a double seater and they let civilians go inside the cockpit at the bologna motor show very cool it was huge in 2017 iirc

I’ve been enjoying the AMX a lot It’s all round decent air to air and it’s also good at GRB which is perfect. It’s just, good, not great but not bad And I got a talisman for the Tornado ADV so getting this was easy

Its pretty similar to the Super Etendard in its Mission, i just wish they gave the etendard magic 2s, since they are basically at the same br (etendard has a bit worse flight characteristics and less gbus, thats why its 10.0)

Weird seeing an jet without afterburner at 10.3, although there is the a10 and su25 and they have a unique look whereas the amx has a typical fighter jet look to it

think your recording messed up the second you got one up the rear end and it must of been that huge explosion that canceled out your recording and damn wtf why am I not getting this Volcano map not one time while playing BR 11.0 and 11.3 😏

So how the hell is this 10.3br and what can i do against it in my 9.7br Harrier Gr.1 that has no guided ground munition, no flight performance whatsoever, no flares/chaff, no rwr, its completely defenseless, basically a free rp pinata and has 1km range rear aspect missiles that go apeshit if you fire them under 600km/h so you cant even retaliate when you reverse someone?

AMX currently have a ton of bugs. It's aiming pod is broken, its flight model is broken, and more other things. Seems like they just dumped this plane on production server in a last minute.

The aiming pod isn't broken, it just doesn't have target tracking, as described in the wiki. So it's a very limited CAS aircraft.

@@jetnavigator Well, this wouldn't be a problem, it's not so hard to manually track target. But without auto tracking gaijins servers will not give you actual position of moving players. So it would be fair to give this feature in game even if this pod not have it IRL

It depends With the patch i mostly get like all the footage in 1-2 days And then just do the commentary when i feel like it lol I have about 12 videos worth of content left so i will probably not play a lot for a week or 3 There have been times where i had enough footage to not play for 3 months I still take breaks if I can It's kinda annoying if they change the plane before i get to upload it then though because i have to delete it then

This is the only plane from this patch that I'm gunning for. Top tier is trash atm and has been for a while now...

It is also worse than A-10, Su-25, Jaguar, A-7, etc. this is certainly much better than the poor strikemaster
