When He-100 was introduced, I was playing squadron battles a lot. Jokingly I said to my friend "there is a new plane in the game, I think, it's new meta for 6.7". We started a duel, my friend didn't know anything about He-100, so he chose to fly Spit.Mk24, since I said "new 6.7 meta". He struggled to kill me for 10 minutes in one round. He tried dogfighting, energy trapping, running away. But He-100 kept pace with Spit. He won only when he realized that my guns don't do any damage, so he just started to commit to riskiest manoeuvres and finaly took me down in a head on.

I can only repeat my theory on BR changes: At Gaijin HQ there is a box with all names of vehicles on small, folded pieces of paper. At the beginning of the month, someone pulls a handfull out and divides them equally. One half gets a 0.3 BR increase, the other a decrease. Then staff unfolds the papers and sees which vehicles are affected. :P :D

@@masonharkness6437 It was really something... Not to mention for the longest time the wings on the CW-21 were unbreakable so you could use them as murder scythes basically. Oh and when they released the cannon Ki-44 it had the same flight performance as the regular Ki-44. That too was really something. Lots of shredding off all four biplane wings at once.

Morko Morraine is still 2.0 with an MG151 and great flight performance. It's kinda hilarious.

Guilty pleasure to fly. Its a porsche strapped with 2 c96 mausers and made me fall in love with the fw190.

This thing has smootbrain pilots eating machine gun rounds and then not returning to base burning out the engine, it's such a good plane

Gaijin has given balancing to the player base and the player base doesn't give a s%*t about actually balancing the vehicles. Gaijin gave the player base the ability because when Gaijin tried to balance in the past the player base would complain no matter what so Gaijin more or less said, "Fine, you do it."

Sometimes when I play with friends I'll take this out into higher tier battles. Little thing can hold its own even at 4.0, other than the guns of course

a little tip how to cool your engine - just turn it off for a few seconds and start again, temps will drop dramatically and the heat capacity of system will reset so it will again become longer to heat the entire cooling system of an engine, long time no playing so i hope this hint still works

Nostalgia hits like a freight train with this one. One of the first props that I truly enjoyed playing. This and the 109b were my favourites for quite some time. I do not play anything below rank 6 anymore. Partly because Rank 5 is where my skills are weakest and partly because rank 4 and below usually is not as challenging anymore. I spent several years grinding different tech trees to the first jets. So I started focusing on jets exclusively. And I got addicted to the speed of jets.

I have that trouble im to use to speed of F104J and F4ej and mig 21MF Mig23 so on going back to bf109 or Zeros feels like im standing still plus being able engage enemy from miles out got me in bit of a pickle and forgetting have to actually watch my speed

To beat the 109 speed wise the deleted wing and nose radiators and filled it completely with internal watercoolers

No this plane is quite balanced at this BR because I've been killed many times by bi-planes and lvl 6 players in the He-100. They used tactics this plane cannot counter -- they were on my team and teamkilled me during takeoff at the airfield.

I heard people talk about this saying about how full uptiers make it useless, and I always thought that was a bit cap. I like planes that keep a speed advantage for most, if not a full BR - mainly since I am bad and speed is the easiest advantage to work around if you are bad. This felt like the best low tier plane, and when it went lower - like what the fuck?

I remember when this plane was added. It’s insane.

Classic video, love the He-100D. Only thing I would love more would be some yak-9P gameplay.

I saw this the other day, decided to play a few games in it. Thing is practically a god level plane when it's at its BR and a downtier. It is even competative at 4.0. Personally I think 2.7 or 3.0 would be a good BR for this. At a max uptier of 3.7-4.0 it would be pretty mid, but at a downtier to 1.7-2.0 it would be very good. Seems like the best balancing that can be done for it with the bad BR compression.

BR compression isn't bad at all in props. The He-100 would be fine at 3.3-3.7. What is bad in props is aircraft at BRs that they shouldn't be at. The 109F-1 is the exact same as the F-2 yet sits at a lower BR despite having the better cannon for air combat. The F-1 needs to go to the same BR that the F-2 is at. The P-39N is a darn near spitting image performance wise relative to the Yak-3 with significantly better dive characteristics but worse guns yet the two aircraft can't actually see each other in game because they are so far apart in BR. I could easily go on.

Yo was wondering how do you make you're cursor go to the place you are looking while using free look? Mine goes back to the place It was at prior to using free look (sorry kinda new to the game so it's a noob question)

Normally watch your instruction videos. Glad I watched this you made me laugh a bunch.

Its cooling system is very fragile. Its was made to have as little of air resistance as possible, and the designers chose a vapor cooling system. The water vaporized, the steam got sent through the wings and condensated. Due to the low air resistance it could fly extremely fast, but its cooling system couldnt handle more powerful engines (it wouldve been unable to cool them, it was basically working at its limit with the db601 already) and even a single hit couldve meant death to it. Thats provably why it wasnt accepted by the rlm. It was basically only made to be fast, any hit was lethal and it wasnt upgradable without serious desing changes. Interesting and good plane, but not meant to fight

Problem is that the He-100D in game isn't the actual He-100D. The actual He-100D had a standard cooling system like the BF-109 did. It also had either a 15mm MG151 or 20mm MG/FF motor cannon.

Can you possibly try a video on the Sa'ar or other super mystères and see if it still holds up at the new BR changes? Same for Mystères IVA

I l9ve he fact that there are some planes at a low br where I can just shut down and enjoy getting a high score every match. But then again I do find myself chosing more meme vehicles like the po2m or cannon stuka just so I don't feel quite as bad playing against people with either none or minimal experience

I've been watching your vids for a while and noticed that you sometimes loiter around your side of the map and wait for enemies that were above you to dive down and shed their altitude like you mentioned near the end of this vid. My question is this. Say you're flying a slow plane that doesn't like getting BnZ'ed, like an A6M2. You're climbing in at the start. But then you spot like a two man squad of 109s with altitude on you. Would you turn around and wait for them to dive away, or still try to move in with your team and try win the team fight instead of trying to carry? I struggle a lot with this because I never seem to secure a position as the highest plane, and am not confident at dogfighting 1 on 1. Sorry for the long question

What goes on at Gaijan headquarters where some more required updates only come along with ridiculous br and balance changes is a complete mystery

just played 3 games with it, got 8 kills one death. planes like this are why i love props - i'm not good enough to avoid missiles in tier 6-7+, but i'm very good with guns and slow plane positioning. i agree though, this is absolutely broken as all hell. even more broken than my beloved I-153P with which i can pretty much guarantee 3 kills every single game if i position right. new favourite !!!

the He-100 is very easy access + it's not too noob friendly(when everyone is in a biplane) I guess that's why it's going down in br

Easy to turn and die vs just about anything. Of course then raising the BR would buff it even for the noobs because it would actually outturn some things...

This plane is here to strike Fear in the Timmy slayers that play 4k games in the i15 exclusively.

Ki-44-II Otsu with 2x12,7mm which are actually 20mm cannons (seriously, they are insanely good) and 2 40mm potato launchers (those are useless) sits at what, 3.0 while outclimbing, outrunning, outturning and outdiving basically anything it can meet.

@@bulbusarues Well, the top speed of Ki-44-II is actually way higher than 605km/h in the statcard. At 5000m it can go 618km/h and since optimal alt is probably indeed 5200, 620km/h is possible. Ki-44-I probably won't go faster than 576km/h. At sea level difference is huge - 503 vs 546km/h. And engine power difference is quite big also Ki-44-II has 2 supercharger gears so it has has more stable power output on top of having noticeably more horsepower - which is the main cause of the speed difference at 0-1500m range (which is a very important range for this game). What's interesting is, at 3000m they are equally fast, because that's the "bad spot" for Ki-44-II supercharger (basically that's the gear switch alt) while it's almost best alt for Ki-44-I supercharger. Does that make Ki-44-I bad? Not at all. But Ki-44-II Otsu is a performance monster and the 0.3 BR difference does not really reflect the performance gap, which is way bigger than between f.e. Bf 109 F4 vs Bf 109 G10. :)

@@martijn9568 There are a number of props where, no matter the fuel load, the turn time nor climb rate do not match. The stats presented are completely useless as a result. Yes, I am aware that someone in the forums has found that, for the most part, they are within an error of about 5% of the aircraft with full fuel in regards to climb rate but that still presents a sizable error and, as I said above, there are still a number of aircraft where it is still not close. So again, they are useless.

So this thing is kinda like the wyvern of the Br, faster than planes that are 2 battle rattings above, with the difference that unlike the wyvern, this thing doesn't lose ALL its speed when turns. Also, can you make a video on the Sea Fury FB11? im quite enjoying that thing and its another plane good for learning energy fighting because It doesn't turn but It has decent top speed.

2.0 is a good minimum, I think it'd be fine at 2.3.

The flight performance for the BR is insane but I really can't get behind the shitty 7.92mm mgs. Its a BnZer but the guns are so anemic that you need multiple passes or you need to spend a few seconds dumping 300 rounds into the enemy to kill them.

If you're a new player, please try to stick out the pain. It can be absolute torture, especially if you go from arcade to realistic battles. The pain is worth it tho when you actually do well in a match, or notice that you're starting to play your strengths better. I currently fly the F-5C, which is a BR 10.3 in realistic air battles, or 10.0 in arcade. I wouldn't recommend going straight into that, as it will be overwhelming. I didn't buy it until well after 400 hours in game, and I was still thrown for a loop with how much of a learning curve it is from rank 5 jets around 7.7-8.0 BR. Anyway, have fun with it and be patient!

I am guilty of using this to feel better sometimes. My main is the MIG-15bis which I love, but when my crew is unavailable after a bad game I jump in the 100D and absolutely dump my bowel contents on poor 1.0 newbies. Yes I cause PTSD. Yes I also received the same PTSD when I was a 1.0 newbie.

I got 4 kills with it yesterday against 4-5 rated planes lol.

So have we just found out how you maintain your 2.0 K/D Defyn? ;)

They really should just give the He-100 the 20mm it was supposed to have and then put it at 4.0 (or even higher, the thing is a beast with really the only downside being it can't take a hit). The D variant never reached the point that they got to put its proper armament on it, but early test variants did have cannons mounted on them (I think V5 or something) and they planned for the D to have cannons before German Air Command lost interest and focus shifted to just propaganda/breaking speed records with it instead. It's not like Gaijin is opposed to adding paper vehicles (some of which weren't even /conceptually/ a thing lmao).

Does anyone new actually play air RB? I thought they usually stick to arcade for the first twenty hours or so

I love playing this plane it's my favorite in the game, but 1.7 is abhorred 2.0 at least, maybe even 2.3 it can still dominate at those battle ratings, at least in arcade.

Trust me, learning to use planes in War Thunder is the best way to do it, since you pass that down to any game you play. The same with playing in FPS; that translates very well in many games, which is funny cuz i learned how to paly FPSs in a roblox game lol.

2.7 might be a fair br for this i feel

I think that even might be a little high. It is even more fragile than a zero with less armament. Most players don't know how to abuse the speed and even good players can get impatient and bleed it all away.

It was at 1.7 years ago and it was super unfair

This goes up against reserves bi-planes and is about 200mph faster.

Imagine this with three 15mms with its hvap rounds. Mmmmmm.
