@@beankobe8205 Nash was absolutely the MVP both years. The suns went from winning 20 something games to winning 62 just by adding Nash to the team and then next season he carried them to 54 wins with Amar'e missing almost the entire season.

The 2nd MVP, Shaq wasn't in the conversation at all. Shaq also mentions the playoffs that year and how the Suns didn't go far... They went as far as Shaq's Heat did in the playoffs, so Shaq's argument (as usual) doesn't make sense.

isn't the real vindication how a team plays in the playoffs does Shaq really care that AI won the 00-01 MVP, when his team beat the 76ers pretty 1 sided 4-1 does Shaq care that in 01-02 Tim Duncan won MVP, when he swept the Spurs the year before, and in 01-02 beat them 4-1 I think Shaq's career is defined by how he was as a player, and how ridiculous it was trying to stop him. like this year I'm hearing Embiid, Jokic and Giannis are all playing at a very high level, and all could be argued to deserve the MVP

That’s not even the whole story, Nash made the team go from lottery to a 60 win team. He deserved both MVPs easily and people are just caught up with “who’s a better player in history” rather than those seasons particularly

Chuck's got to be one of the best folks on television ever. He's got hot takes, hilarious antics, and high levels of insight. (When he's not predicting the future) If you cut the end Steve Nash take out, this would be a prime example of someone showing they actually watch the games. If the matchups locked up today, tell me there's a team from the East Play-In that's even close in sleeper threat to Toronto this year.

MVP doesn't mean best player in the league, it means best performance of the season. Chuck was 100% right, Nash wasn't a better player in a straight comparison, but he performed better in the regular season those years.

he also performed better in the playoffs those years too 04-05 Kobe's team had a 34-48 record, therefore no playoffs 05-06 Kobe's team lost to the Suns without Amare or Joe Johnson (who left), and Kobe quit in game 7 If they say record matters so much, I don't know how they want to argue Kobe's 34-48 record in 04-05 is good enough also why don't they argue TMac when he averaged 32.1 ppg deserved the MVP and he shot better from 3 than Kobe ever did his entire career that year

They're going to give it to Joel. It doesn't matter what Giannis or Joker does at this point. Giannis should be the MVP. Jokic offers nothing defensively, so It's hard to include him in this as the others offensive value is similar. Defensively, Joel is purely a paint defender. Giannis guards all 5 positions at times and is probably the best defender in the league. Gianni's season is also as historic as Jokers. So, because it's close, it comes down to (for me): - best team record to Giannis - offensively it's equal (all 3 offer different things) - defensively it's Gianni's - stats, between the 3, he finishes 2nd in all common stats (currently), while the others are 1st or 3rd. = More consistant So, It goes to Giannis.
