    This one verse is what we hear when talking about tithes and offerings. But we never hear teachings on this verse or the concept of greed. The constant wanting more and selfishly. Never enough is the root of evil and how people hoard and do things to obtain more money like lie and cheat, steal, even murder. We just hear it applied to offerings to say that money is okay. Just dont love money. If there are bills to pay and the church has programs and needs to do kindom things we grt that and I think most Christians are happy to give when there is transparency. People are not blind and ignorant to finances. Bills have to be paid. Church needs funding and we needs to sow into ministries, but to give to get money back from God falls right into loving money and more of it. This doesnt teach us to be humble, or altruistic. It implies we can control God by giving. I would much rather see a need and give because it can advance God's kingdom.

    My father has been a Reverend my entire life. My mother and Father were never rich people. My dad worked at Walmart for 30 plus years and my mother put the same amount of time working in a nursing home as a CNA. They bought some land and built their own church, paying for it from their jobs. I've never seen my Dad take up an offering and would never approve of getting paid to preach the Word of God. Left out of this lie-packed misleading video is the fact that Joel Osteen completely volunteers as pastor of his church. He makes no money from being the pastor. He donates 100% of his salary right back into the church. He makes his living, instead by working (publishing books). Apart from that, though, I don't think there is any problem taking up offerings and donations. Jesus certainly did. He wore a valuable robe which was donated to him all the way to Calvary (guards fought over it as He died on the cross). Jesus had a treasurer to handle all the donations (Judas). Jesus had a house. Jesus was buried in a wealthy man's tomb. Sorry, but it's not the 'prosperity preachers' who are sicking and snake-oil frauds. It's the Poverty Gospel calvinist creeps who make deceitful videos like this one.

    Years ago, I used to watch TBN all day and night. I completely believed the prosperity gospel. I used to use my last money to get to church and tithe regularly. But, then my husband divorced me and left me alone with children and refused to pay child support. I of course went to the church first. I was awoken to the truth. One guy at a church in Florida "single parent ministry" for car repair, he laughed at me and said, "You really believe that" I then realized even the church would not help me. The mega church would not even give me a job because of student loans on my credit report. I scraped the bottom for a few months with not even the hotlines praying for me correctly. Through this time of living in shelters and being without a car, I grew closer to the real God in Jesus Christ and he gave me a job abroad that gave me free housing for me and my kids and I grew rich. I prospered greatly without giving one red cent to any church, online ministry or television network. God truly wants us to prosper and be in health. I am a living witness that he also is very close to the broken hearted and really cares for the orphans and widows. God is God alone and is able.

    Yea God always provides for his children no matter if they give or not but think of the reward in heaven that is waiting for you because you gave into a ministry that saved millions. You partner with them to preach the gospel. It says give and it shall be given to you good measure pressed down shaken together shall men give into your bosom. Think how much more would have come back to you if you gave into a ministry. Your divorce has nothing to do with you giving to a minister. We all go through tough stuff. I didn’t give at all and my life showed it. But when I started to tithe and give consistently, I have experienced much blessings. My life was similar to yours and it started to give and it took awhile to get a return but when I did it was thousands. You do realize most of these ministers starter from poverty and have their hearts out and are just reaping the benefits of it. One of my family members gave to a very famous preacher for years. Eventually she passed a very wealthy woman. Years later I took care of that minister In a unique way. He blessed me everyday which my biological father never did. Don’t tell me that didn’t happen because my family member sowed into that ministry

    My heart goes out to you. This world is filled with so many people who will use the Word of God to their own gains not only by claiming that this is required by God but if you can’t give then you’re not a Christian. That couldn’t be farther from the truth Jesus Christ went to the cross not for only the people with deep pockets but for everyone. The drops of blood Jesus shed had each and everyone of us in mind. You were on His mind and He loves you. Jesus said “ come you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest “ . Jesus wasn’t in the requests of the people who stand up dressed up in the latest fashions standing in the pulpits claiming to preach the gospel of Jesus because they do not preach in Truth and Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life no man goes to the Father except through Jesus. Their claims and praises fall on deaf ears because it does not glorify God. We will see many more like these and now because our eyes have been opened it’s time for us to go out and warn other new born again Christians because these false teachers of Jesus and their followers will continue to exploit others and use the same tactics against them as they did against us. Jesus is coming again one day and it’s up to us to stand up as one for Jesus and let His Holy Spirit shine through us so that others may seek Jesus and the salvation that only Jesus can offer.

    My grandfather was a pastor. He and my grandmother worked full-time until they could collect Social Security and a pension at age 62. They lived in parsonages and maintained them. I spent a summer with them at age 12. The parsonage was a small three room home raised on blocks. We mowed an acre of grass every week and we're responsible for cleaning the church building and "out building" (restrooms). By then my grandparents were in their late 60s as I am now. Back in 1963 they, while working full-time, bought a modest house for when my grandfather retired from preaching. They rented it out for years until the early 1970s. My grandparents were humble and my grandfather preached the gospel. No prosperity preaching there.

    Sounds like my dad. He was carpentering; sold our 70 acre farm when he was 40; moved our entire family to Canada to go to Prairie Bible Institute; then came back to Kansas and went back to carpentering until a pastor came up when he was 60 and then he pastored two Evangelical churches with about 30 in each congregation for the rest of his life and my mom was quite happy as if they had everything they could want with bare necessities. Dad told me he was offered more than his $7,000 salary along with his carpentering and he turned down the raise. How he died with $30,000 in the bank was quite a surprise as to how they could live in the black like that. He once said, "the pay here is not all that much, but the benefits are out of this world"!

    @@whitefox5155 My grandparents were born in 1904 & 05. They lived through WWI, The Great Depression, and WWII. They worked hard and saved their money. My grandfather was a fire captain and retired when he reached the years to collect a pension (saved it for when he'd be in his 60s). Also, he took out a charter fishing boat at times (I was very young then). He had been called to the ministry and studied by correspondence, plus one month each summer on site at seminary. He did this while working full-time in a glass factory. My grandmother worked there, too, in a different capacity. Once he graduated he served as a part-time assistant pastor. He was ordained when I was perhaps 11 years old. When they turned 62, my grandparents both retired. They moved to FL and my grandfather became a full -time pastor. They had everything they needed. No need for extravagance. There was no rent to pay. They had Social Security and the pension. Their eventual retirement house they bought in Venice was fully paid for. They had a good car, a proper wardrobe and food. They never wanted for anything. A neighbor down the road (rural community) supplied fresh cow's milk every other day. They pastored at a few other parishes for the next several years before he retired to Venice. People nowadays have a very different view of prosperity. It's not expecting money to just fall in your lap, so to speak. You need to work purposely and productively. It's not having riches or material things. God is not a wish-granting genie. It's having all you *need* and not lacking. Being content that your needs are met.

  • @jameslang5809

    @jameslang5809

    Жыл бұрын

    Imho you should research this verse from the Hebrew and Aramaic languages. The word translated as 'camel' is is actually the word for 'rope'. Hebraically thinking, a rope's strands must go through the eye of the needle individually and thus a man's finances must go through the eye of Yehova's scrutiny. For once a rich man's finances are oriented to Yehova's purposes and direction, it indicates that Yehova has that man's heart and devotion. Nowhere in scripture does it say that "poverty is next to Godliness". To be content in your finances and Yehova's provision is true wealth.

  • @Rockjamify

    @Rockjamify

    Жыл бұрын

    @@jameslang5809 Respectfully, no translation refers to cable instead of camel. Also, we have the guidance of context, where Jesus challenged the man (who claimed to have followed all the laws of Moses) to be rid of *all* his wealth, and to follow him hence. From there, Jesus saw the man waver in his obedience, and Jesus then made the statement that it is easier for a (relatively large) camel to pass through the (relatively tiny) eye of the needle, than for a rich person to enter heaven. The caveat is that, *with God all things are possible.* So, under the influence of the Holy Spirit, it is possible for a rich man to go to heaven. There are many wealthy people who do what God expects of them: helping the needy; and leading pious lives not overly influenced by the distractions involving wealth. Poorer people tend to find it easy to depend on God, and not to become encumbered by the worldly concerns involving wealth.

Then when Oral Roberts passed away his son Richard Roberts took over as lead pastor and absolutely destroyed the church. His wife was between the sheets with the lawn boy at their lavish estate and Richard was arrested doing 90mph while heavily intoxicated out on Hwy 75 west of Tulsa. Their oldest son died by suicide after numerous attempts to get off drugs failed. Horrible tragedy and very sad but this ministry bilked millions of people out of billions of dollars. It hit me to start with what little I had and help people. This happened twice the last time was when I was sitting across from a man with his head in his hands. I was moved to give him money, I chose to give him a $10 cash. I just got paid and had money, I opened my wallet and the only bill was a $20. I tapped him and gave it to him, he started to cry which got me crying and told me he was just praying for help to get him home as he was traveling to family he hadn't seen in a long time. God helped him through me. I was blessed. I am of service to God who knows best of what people need. When I got off the bus I opened my wallet and there was all my money. Amazing.

    There is no way a Christian can be spiritually rich and not at the same time be physically and financially rich. Christianity is not another Eastern religion. Jesus himself promised all his genuine followers abundance of both physical, financial and material riches. Those of you that prefer poverty to riches should leave those Christians that believe in prosperity alone!

There is so much love in this church and when it comes to donations, it’s not forceful, money is not even mentioned. The money bucket would just be there if anyone wanted to be generous. The Holy Spirit was inside of this church and changed my life. Now I wish more people would experience what I did, but it’s extremely sad to say these demonic people in power of these fancy churches are here to do one job, and it is to use the people, to lead people stray, lead them away from god and instead towards materials and money.

Many people who have FAITHFULLY followed this so called "prosperity gospel", found themselves in debt so far they were never able to retire. They went into bondage trying to get the false message to work. False gospel on a multitude of levels.

Do you think you are any better than these mega rich "pastors" that are stealing from others when you wish them destroyed instead of wishing for them to REPENT? You might want to go read the first several verses of Matthew 7 as the same measures you issued to judge these people in the hottest part of hell is the SAME MEASURE that will ensure you are there in the hottest part of hell if you do NOT REPENT from your envy and *hate.* You and most Christians seem to forget Matthew 6:14-15, for if you won't forgive others of their wrong doings, neither will you be forgiven by the Father in Heaven above. REPENT and TURN from UNFORGIVENESS as this and blasphemy of the Spirit of Truth are things you WILL NOT BE FORGIVEN FOR! If you are not forgiven, you are cast outside with the Forces of Darkness/Evil into the lake of fire.

    @steverobertson1072 @steverobertson1072 The people that give these Mega rich "pastors" money are equally as greedy and probably more envious as they see what the rich of the world has material wise and are paying tithes and offerings in hopes that they too will get them some. If these people read their Bible, which is either free or cheap, they would see that they don't need these crooks. As Christians do NOT SEEK as Yeshua aka 'Jesus', advise them to do many times [here are two passages Matthew 6:24-34 and all of Matthew 7]... but because they do not, they are exposed to false prophets who swindle them as these Christians who fall prey to this are also seeking to gain Mamom/Wealth not the One True Creator [who is Steadfast Love] (Matthew 6:24). For if these Christians seek FIRST the Kingdom and its Righteousness, all their needs will be provided for them (Matthew 6:25-34). I can testify that I chose the One True Creator (Steadfast Love) over money and I took myself out of Babylon’s halotry [Christianity] because I sought and found nothing but FALSEHOOD inside Christianity and rejected it and found the Kingdom of the One True Creator and the OneTrue Creator's Righteousness (Matthew 6:24-34). I found Yeshua and I was FREED (John 8:31-47). The path to Truth and Yeshua is truly NARROW and if you do not SEEK with EVERYTHING THAT YOU ARE, then you will be like everyone that will be told to DEPART as their foundation was on the BROAD WAY (Matthew 7). The Christians tricked and the Christians doing the tricking that say they are rich, both are exceptionally POOR, WRETCHED, AND NAKED/UNRIGHTEOUS who need to get gold refined in the FIRE of the Spirit of Truth so they can get OINTMENT for they blind eyes and white garments/RIGHTEOUSNESS to clothed their NAKEDNESS/UNRIGHTEOUS as Yeshua warned the Ladoceans in Revelation 3:14-22.

    Lot of that goes on. Very sad. In a situation like that, I also would add that under that kind of authority, there will be very little spiritual growth. The minister of Satan does not want true spiritual experiences among his congregation unless the experience is erroneously judged to be of God. Many parishioners have a great deal of difficulty discerning differences between spiritual manifestations and the origin. Simply because it is indeed a spiritual manifestation, doesn't necessarily mean that it is the Spirit of God. These people need a Pastor.

    The church I used to go to turned into a “money church” too. The “pastor” asked for the collection plate to be passed around 3 times in a hour and a half, and the last half of his “sermon” was accusing people of coming into The Lord’s house like thief’s because we are literally stealing the word of God by not filling up the collection plate. The area I lived in them times was a pretty poor area, and I just couldn’t believe the tone and anger in his voice when he was saying all that crap. I’m pretty sure God knows who would like to give to the church but maybe can’t, and he knows who can but do not. To call a poor person a thief for receiving God’s word at church and not being able to give money just really upset means that was the second time I heard that same spiel, and the last!

    These greedy "pastors" are wrong & so was the pastors anger you mentioned, but I caution you not to take it too far the other direction, either. The Bible does say youre stealing from God if you do not give 10%/tithe. And whether one's income is a little or alot we are commanded to give 10%. Ya cant outgive God. If ya tithe, WITH A CHEERFUL HEART & IN JESUS'S NAME, one cannot outgive God. Ive never seen it fail that if one tithes, God blesses one. If not, then one struggles unnecessarily. Like everyone else I know; I cant afford NOT to tithe. Giving BEYOND tithing is a good thing, too, that brings blessings. But we must be good stewards of our money in terms of whom we're trusting with money.

I have to say is that ever since I have been sowing into the gospel just about all my bills have been paid off with leftovers. I don’t mind giving to God. He always provides and he always gives back. The floodgates have opened up over me. The gospel is prosperity. He delights in the prosperity of his saints psalm 35:27.

    @@vivianharper4249 then he must believe in the principles of sowing and reaping. Asking him people to help you is humility. You don’t ask and you don’t get. Paul asked for money from the Corinthians. He used other churches as an example of how generous they were although they had nothing. This man is not better then these other preachers. He believes differently which is okay. You don’t have to embrace the prosperity gospel. Just don’t cut and dis esteem which is associated with hatred because others believe in that principle which can be backed in the scriptures. All scripture is profitable for those who hear it. I totally believe I’m sowing and reaping and I also ask for help from a friend or those in my life when I need it with no shame. Those people partner with these leaders to spread the gospel. That’s what the Philippians did with Paul and he stated all their needs were supplied according to his riches. Supplied her after studying a wonderful commentary also means to cram from the Greek. These were partners that he was speaking to not just any Christian. If you want to experiences a cram of blessings then partner with a minister who preaches the complete gospel or if your church is feeding you with the complete gospel and ministering to you, give to them. A blessing and return will come. Problem is people are giving into ministries that are not preaching the gospel or bringing change into their lives. It’s dead seed. So they don’t see results and whine like a baby and blame the prosperity preachers. You realize offense is a very grievous sin and being offended over these men and women of God is worse then them having wealth. We are not required to give. Not tithing or giving will not curse us or put us under judgement cause Christ took our sins and nailed them to the cross and became the curse. But if you want the floodgates of heaven to open up over you as in Malachi 3 you need to tithe and give offerings. That verse equates beyond 10 percent. Way beyond it. Don’t while about these men and women of God. Let them be held accountable if they are on error to God. Just be a cheerful giver and help others and these ministers get the gospel out. If you never see the fruit here, know it will be waiting in heaven for you

While ignoring $100 and $50 gifts. My mom got upset at Joyce ignoring peoples hard earned little money gifts. My mom said Myers has more love for money than the Lord and quit watching and following Joyce's ministry.
