@@Natalieneptune469 Well, bitcoin's (and indeed all crypto) constant volatile state is mostly due to factors which include but not limited to: basic economic supply and demand, investor and user sentiments, government regulations across the countries that use crypto currencies, pump and dump practices and media hype. All of these work together to influence price volatility, which is why it's pertinent one (esp someone new) follows the guides of an experienced market pundit who already knows all the market maneuver. It betters your chance at maximum profit by more than 100%.

One solution for the bitcoin scaling problem is the lightning network. Also I think that proof of work is the only concept that will stay decentralized for a long time as opposed to proof of stake for example.

Perfectly sumed up crisp and to the point. That's why I alway tell everyone put that much money only to the crypto which you can afford to go to zero. Don't ever put life saving into it. Don't let greed take over your intuition.

The US dollar isn't entirely a "trust" based currency. It is backed by real assets in the Federal Reserves' portfolio. There may be some "trust" in that we have faith the US government isn't going to cause something to cause it to loose all of its value, I guess, but it is, in fact, backed by gold, real estate, equities, etc.

Blockchain as technology is very interesting, but the biggest question is why is it an investment? When you invest in a company, if their products/services sell and they profit, you get part of these profits, but what about bitcoin? It's a thing on itself. It doesn't produce anything, yet, its value keep increasing. Why? Because people expect it to keep increasing so they can profit from that. This seems to me like a bubble. The value of the coin is based only on that expectation. The thing is: expectations are purely psychological. People can change their minds, and if this happens in a big scale, the value of bitcoin can drop fast, like the tulip fever in the XVII century. What if people realise it's completely useless?

This is very true. That is the reason for the volatility of Bitcoin. People selling off large amounts trying to make a quick profit. However the reason why it is an investment is because it goes up in value even with its volatile nature, it still has the highest of return since it was introduce in 2009. Better than real estate and stocks. But It was stabilize once more and more business adapt to it.

Starting early is the best way of getting ahead to build wealth, investing remains a priority. The stock market has plenty of opportunities to earn a decent payouts, with the right skills and proper understanding of how the market works..

The block size war is years in the past. The energy issue is also massively overstated. The entire financial system uses far far more and no one has ever found a “problem” with that.

The downfall of crypto was becoming a speculative asset rather than currency. The fact that the value of the currency often changes before the transaction is complete, and that things like a single tweet can cause a crash is a huge issue. It’s basically unusable for its original purpose at this point.

He misses many points. For example, those renewable energies require rare elements that are destroyng environments and causing loss of human life or health (it is possible that Afghanistan is a war over rare minerals). He misses the point that those computers used for mining require energy to be made. Renewable energies are still damaging in other ways to wildlife and ecosystems. I love the freedom/concept behind the crypto movement, but it isn't without many faults.

Just five minutes in and can already tell this is one of the sharpest analyses of crypto I've ever seen

the reason i got into cryptocurrencies is specifically because its decentralized. The way i see fiat currencies failing left and right in the developing world makes me agree that there is a future for a currency that does not rely on governments fiscal decision making. Im not converting my entire portfolio into it but im keeping some in my high risk portfolio. The only way I see it failing completely is people around the world lose trust in it but with current market adoption i dont see that happening anytime soon,

How you are able to put all of these together is just mind-blowing. I started using the internet in early 2001 for chatting and entertainment. I didn't bother to learn abt the technology around it and how it works, who knows I would have become a billionaire by now. @@ramzichouk4080 did you watch the video? Bitcoin has value for the same reason gold has value. But mostly the concept of "intrinsic" value is a myth for currencies. You only have supply and demand.

@@greenl7661 I didn't mention just GDP, while it also plays a major role, along with countries stability overall (economically, military, availability of natural resources etc) . If a country exports certain amount of goods and services, it's purchased with that countries currency indirectly via other common currency like USD or Euro.

Yet, the biggest point about bitcoin was not explained. The value of bitcoin, that most fanatics see, is that is IMUNE TO GOVERNMENTS. The real questions should be, "do you trust the government?", "can governments fail? are not they failing right now?", "can the government become corrupt? or authoritarian?","who protects me from the government?" People are starting to make these question, and many people find bitcoin as the answer. . If james really understood bitcoin, he wouldnt compared bitcoin to any other alt coin, because Every Single One of them, governments CAN and WILL interfere and control. Thats why only bitcoin has value, everything else is just Shitcoin
