I have dry, sensitive, rosacea skin. I usually love a thick balm or oil as my first step. Left on residue does not bother me. The more moisture the better for me. 🤗

This is exactly how I figured out how to use it. It's definitely just a first step oil cleanser. I prefer to splash water on my face first. You have to work at getting it off with a soft rag. But, my skin really likes it, better than other oil cleansers I've tried. I feel that it's surprisingly hydrating on my sensitive skin. I do like it, great review. It's a terrific budget option

When I saw "balm", I assumed you'd double cleanse like with any other cleansing balm. I'd never just wash off a cleansing balm and leave that gunk on my skin. Lol it sounds like a lot of work just to wash your face. Even my beloved clinique take the day off needs a good cleanse afterwards. I have oily skin, so I need to remove oil based products after use.

I actually love this cleanser! Have really dry/sensitive skin and got no problems whatsoever! Use it as a first cleanse (squish tube to mix it before use), apply it on dry skin, work it, add water, work it again and then wash off. Washes clean for me and no makeup residue. Then second cleanse with cerave hydrating cleanser (not harsh at all). Works amazing!

ALL cleansing balms and oils should be used on dry skin, then small amount of water added to emulsify, then a warm cloth, rinse and then follow up with a milky or non-foaming cleanser!!! They are intended as a first cleanse/makeup remover :-)

I put it on a dry face..massage in. Then i add water to my face and massage some more to emulsify and it turns milky then rinses clean for me. Also mine is not solid as my bathroom is warm all the time like 80. I tried the derma-e balm and although i love the smell it does not emulsify and rinse off as well and leaves a film. Luckily balms are the 1st step of my double cleanse. And the herbivore pink cloud....so far i am loving it. I have used the paulas choice cream to gel cleanser and the yttp kale cleanser and they both dried me so bad my face felt like it was going to crack. We shall see how its working after a few months. Love the channel keep up the good work!!

You nailed it- this stuff doesn't wash off. I have Rosacea, and always do a second cleanse in the evening. Still, this stuff was hard to get off. It took so long to get it completely off my skin that all it did was wind up giving me a flush- a huge no-no for Rosacea.

In my opinion, this is a cleansing balm for people who want a first step cleanser that does the job with minimal to no irritation at an affordable price because it just gets rinsed down the drain. I LOVE it. I like that it's in between a solid and oil consistency. I like the hygienic packaging that I can easily transfer to a travel tube. I love that it's cruelty free, polyethylene free, and fragrance free. I love that the ingredients don't burn my eyes. I love either double cleansing with it or using it alone and rinsing off if my skin barrier is extremely compromised. I love how it removes my makeup and sunscreen and prepares my skin for my 2nd step cleanser. I love the value for the money considering it gets washed down the drain and how it's accessible through Sephora.

You are so right about this! I'm started to get annoyed with some of the crazy expensive cleansers ($40 & +) that have been coming out lately. All of it goes down the drain so I'd rather save my money and splurge on a great serum or exfoliant, as opposed to what will go straight down the drain...And I'm SO happy to see a cleansing balm packaged in a tube! It's about time.
