The Infinite Game - Simon Sinek

There are only two types of games: finite and infinite. In a finite game, the players are known, the rules are known, and there’s a clear end with a clear winner. In an infinite game, there are both known and unknown players, the rules are changeable, and the objective is to perpetuate the game. Hospitality is an infinite game. The goal is not to beat the competition; it’s to outlast them. The following are Simon’s tips for how to be a leader in an infinite game:
1. Have Just Cause: Find something you’re willing to sacrifice for. Where you work must give you a bigger purpose.
2. Build Trusting Teams: Create an environment where people can perform at their natural best. It’s not about taking charge, but taking care of the people in your charge.
3. Know Your Worthy Rivals: Seek out your “competition” to reveal your own weaknesses. Then you can work on them and become better.
4. Have Existential Flexibility: You must be willing to make a profound strategic shift when you find a better way to advance your cause.
5. Have the Courage to Lead: All of the above is not easy. You must be brave, and that will only happen through the relationships you form with the people around you.
Simon Sinek teaches leaders and organizations how to inspire people, and is also the author of multiple bestselling books.

I suspect infinite-game businesses play a series of finite games.

Pretty much, the same shit as the others. Set a goal, bond with your pairs, try always to innovate. Is all the same with a different name. Here is called infinite game, the other was menthal attitude and there are many more.
