@@Sethluifoodtravel Kannina you didn’t need to give your opinion in public and deter others from going down.
Solid! He held the interview so well. More inspirational than any motivational speakers.
Born an Indian adopted by the Chinese at age 4 had a very challenging childhood. A Self Made Man who have to Overcome many Challenges before becoming a Business Owner. Good Confucian Values propel him to the Successful Chef We See Today.
I am glad he was able to overcome racism to pursue his dreams. Race has no impact on whether someone can cook any cuisine as long as thar person is willing to learn it. His positive attitude and enthusiasm are so inspiring. I wish him all the best!
What a remarkable guy. Wish him every success in his trade. 🙏
I used to eat his tze char when he was working at the stall in Upp Thomson. It was so damn good but wasted that tze char stall has closed down. But I'm glad he has opened his own.

Uh editor blames autocorrect? Lol
His food really not bad. Better than some Chinese zi char stall 👍
I hv just figured out: Zi Char is 小炒😂‼️ Literal translation “small toss-fried dishes”. Its a form of Cuisine, a borderline BETWEEN Home cooking & restaurant cooking using high fire power & the resulting vigorous toss-sauté Chinese dishes are famous for. Background reasons: Family homemade meals are cooked on stoves not with high fire power (heat) as restaurant commercial stoves. Family kitchens therefore choose to limit toss-fried / sautés dishes to reduce grease on kitchen walls & cabinets. So, in Hk, for rich 鋦氣小炒dishes, people choose to eat out at restaurants, 茶餐廳(CCT) in the case in Hk. In the case of Spore, the food stalls, hawker style is the equivalent of HK’s CCT茶餐廳, a less expensive form of family style restaurants.
Keep up the good work. All the best!

His Cantonese is very good
It must be difficult to cough those comments ... like clean or not just because he is Indian looking. I am horrified at those comments. I hope the younger generation learn to be more mindful of their language. It is not easy being a kitchen helper. You start from the bottom to learn. I wish Devid all the best and may his stall flourish and prove that an Indian looking guy can cook sumptuous chinese food.
👍💪💪💪
Sad to know someone scammed him $27000, hope he recovers from that and moves on.

when i come back definitely come from USA and eat fish head curry...
Malaysian ! Expected, only they can speak multiple dialects , mandarin, Tamil and Malay
Add oil. I’m a Chinese female chef. I faced the same racism and sexism in my work in my early days. But perseverance pays off. 🎉
Wearing a cross. He’s (a viewer addressed him as David), a modern day Chinese Christian in an Indian body. Fusion ! 🙂👍
DAMN, his Chinese is way better than mine! 👏

can be a bit hard to maintain the consistency
What kind of racists asked him that question about whether the food will be clean if it's cooked by him - an Indian person? To the chef - it is NOT your problem! These racists are the problem and should stop existing in society.
First
i like the story but cannot accept the name which does a disservice to all of us of colour and frankly sets us back generations - it's like "darkie" toothpaste....
