The Incredible Oasis Technique to Find Water | SLICE
Foggaras are an ingenious irrigation system. Essential in Algerian oases, they distribute precious water in the arid desert. This system is now threatened with extinction, which could lead to the drying out of many palm trees and the desertification of many oases.

what a clean natural sweet water .salam to those great indigenous cultured people
Brilliant system . Genius work. I just love oasis.
So impressed at humans abilities. The hand writing looks like art.
The technique was invented by Iranians and was called Qanat. It spread by Muslims through North Africa and even reached Europe. The most amazing watering system in the history that works to this day.

not sure what a pure muslim is, but they won't have a face carved into a wall, it is harem

@@joesmith-tg3co It's not. What you have been told is completely wrong. It's that simple. All sheikhs know nothing about Islam and they represent their own Islam which they have embedded beliefs and creeds that never belong to Islam. There are 14/15 harams in Quran from Allah. Any other haram is man-made and doesn't come from Allah. End of story.

then why is there no islamic art with faces, my understanding that images in Muslim art is forbidden, that is why I was questions the term pure muslim @@dot73

I think creativity exists everywhere, even in the desert.
That is a very basic irrigation/water harvesting technique, not a technique to find water. The more clickbaity your titles get,the more credibility you lose. There's already way too much BS in the world.Don't add to it. How about "Ancient desert irrigation technique."??? its enticing and honest.

A genuinly nice and honest video, not aspiring to be a textbook in hydrogeology. There is no credibility at stake here. I wish you could have been a little more respectful. The only thing that stands out like a sore thumb here is your comments. Regards from a hydrogeologist and water well driller for more than 40 years in these regions. F. Ruden.

@@fridtjovruden5225So you deny that the title of the video was intentionally misleading and completely fails to describe what they are ACTUALLY doing and then go on to claim that for some magical reason your profession gives you the right to ignore the publisher's mistake and attack the guy that points it out? Shame there wasn't a module on logic and ad hominem attacks in your hydrogeology course.Regards from a lifelong student of engineering, science and philosophy.

Just dig a well, even in the desert there is water underground
i ain't surprised if they can pull that off considering the Muslims themselves contributed alot to the field of mathematics

Why don't the government pump disalinated water to the desert so human can plant trees and vegetables

Money. Desalination is expensive, and transporting water (without it evaporating) from where it is, to where it is Not, is also expensive. Better to move people to where food is easier to grow.
Find one thing also how to find oil … will help humanity…

Why not use solar generator machine to draw water. Dessert has an ample supply of energy from the sun. Make use of it.

this system is 100s of years old. Its tested in time, and it works. Dont fix it if it isnt broke?? and really.. I dont think they had solarpolar when they made it. A passive system is way better than an active. Solar costs money, it needs maintainance of a type these people cant provide, it needs to be installed and it have a limited lifespan. Thes wells and tunnels are so old we dont know when they where made. Could be 1000 years old. Show me solar that will last 1000 years plz, and ill buy it no questions asked..

Water pumps aren't as sturdy as you think it needs maintenance every week, this people dug and find water although the hard way it has given them water for a very long time.
