THE INCREDIBLE HULK Movie Reaction! 1st Time Watch | Edward Norton & Tim Roth | Marvel Studios

Ойын-сауық

Before Mark Ruffalo as the MCU Hulk that we know and love, there were two other recent movie Hulks - Eric Bana and Edward Norton. This is the movie starring Edward Norton and it also features a certain someone (ahem Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky aka Abomination) who we saw recently in She-Hulk Attorney at Law. This movie also stars William Hurt as General 'Thunderbolt' Ross - a role that has been recently recast with Harrison Ford for the upcoming Captain America: New World Order.

“Imagine this Hulk in Endgame” You don’t have any idea of how tired I am from people not using common sense and thinking this Hulk would’ve played out differently while fighting Thanos and it wouldn’t have change a thing. Let’s start by saying that Norton’s and Ruffalo’s Hulk are technically the same one, but a lot of people like to compare them as separate and even if they are the same one Norton’s version was weaker at the time so let’s do that, let’s compare them. Norton’s Hulk struggled to even lift a Ross army vehicle….this Hulk was weak asf and people like you think because he had more visible veins and screamed a lot that he was stronger and he wasn’t. Ruffalo’s Hulk has done so many feats (of course having more appearances helps) so I am going to use Avengers 2012 Hulk only and that’s more than enough. That Hulk surpassed every other Hulk in strength BY FAR and it’s not even close, like I said Norton’s Hulk struggled to lift an army car and he threw a rock not even that fast and far while Professor Hulk (the weaker version of the Hulk threw a bigger boulder that broke the sound barrier an went to space) and Avengers 2012 Hulk one punch to the Leviathan Chitauri is like a 2,000 tons punch…like it’s not even a comparison and that’s without counting his other feats like punching strong enough to make stumble a powered Surtur by the Eternal Flame and getting mad enough to catch Thor hammer attack like nothing on the arena when they were fighting, didn’t even move him…like Ruffalo’s Hulk is in another level, even Professor Hulk like I said is even stronger than Norton’s Hulk, even after being highly injured by the snap he held the Avenger’s compound with one hand. Norton’s Hulk wasn’t that strong, Thanos would’ve put him down even faster becsuse Norton’s Hulk punches wouldn’t even moved him. Thanos is always beating Hulk in the comics, he just doesn’t want to fight him because he is one of the few that actually makes him try so he doesn’t like to fight him but he always beats the shit out of Hulk. King Thanos had Maestro Hulk as his pet…y’all are really crazy thinking the weaker version of Hulk would’ve done something and he wouldn’t have done shit because he was super weak.

@@reynaldolorenzo8409 It's not about feats, dude. It's about how Hulk feels, how he presents himself on-screen. THAT'S what people care about, not that he lost to Thanos. We wanted a fully raged out Hulk knocking Thanos around a bit as payoff for getting completely humiliated in Infinity War. It would've amazing to see on-screen, something huge to cheer for. He would still lose eventually, but it would've been quite the spectacle nonetheless

  • @reynaldolorenzo8409

@@diegopansini3152 Hulk suffered a lot because the rights problems, there isn’t much you can do having such complex character like Bruce that has DID and never been able to explore any of that because you can only use him as a side character and limited screen time. There isn’t much you can do with a raging monster, what they can do? Be repetitive and having him destroy stuff in every movie right? So they went with the Professor Hulk storyline that way they could use the character in a smarter way and him give him some arc and complexity that they couldn’t as a side character raging monster. That being said in 2023 they get the distribution rights and there is rumors about a Planet Hulk two part movies so if they do it right they can do something especial with that and bring back the raging Hulk and do more being able to use the character. And idk why you wanted him fighting Thanos, like you said…he would’ve lost eventually so it would’ve been the same thing. Started doing some damage like in IW and then gets the shit beat out of him, you just basically wanted him to get humiliated again…like what a stupid comment. 😂

With Hulk, it would've gotten many more cheers, and it would've been the greatest fight he's had...well, ever I agree that they did him dirty by not exploring his DID and making most of his "development" off-screen. But that's not what we're talking about here

I know fans would’ve said “I wanted a redemption and for him to beat Thanos” and some bs like that, people wouldn’t have cheered at all and we needed Professor Hulk to do the snap, people don’t give credits to what he did in that movie. Sadly, but I am 50/50 with them having the rights. (Spoiler Alert for She Hulk) seeing Skaar at the design they gave him (I hope they change it) I wouldn’t be surprised if they mess it up, this can go really good or really bad and Phase 4 has been disappointing in movies so…

If it's life-threatening (falling from a plane or a suicide attempt), then the human instinct to survive kicks in and his adrenalin spikes which triggers an instinctual change. The comic went back and forth over the years as to whether the Hulk and Banner were similar to a split personality or represented different parts of Banner's persona or were actually two separate entities. So, it depends on what you believe to rationalize why Banner changes when he does.--whether consciously or unconsciously.

Originally him and Kami were one, but their mental, emotional and spiritual dilemma caused them to split into two different entities, one good and one bad. “This Hulk was on another level” You don’t have any idea of how tired I am from people not using common sense and thinking this Hulk was stronger than Ruffalo’s. That Hulk surpassed every other Hulk in strength BY FAR and it’s not even close, like I said Norton’s Hulk struggled to lift an army car and he threw a rock not even that fast and far while Professor Hulk (the weaker version of the Hulk threw a bigger boulder that broke the sound barrier an went to space) and Avengers 2012 Hulk one punch to the Leviathan Chitauri is like a 2,000 tons punch…like it’s not even a comparison and that’s without counting his other feats like punching strong enough to make stumble a powered Surtur by the Eternal Flame and getting mad enough to catch Thor hammer attack like nothing on the arena when they were fighting, didn’t even move him…like Ruffalo’s Hulk is the one that is in another level, even Professor Hulk like I said is even stronger than Norton’s Hulk, even after being highly injured by the snap he held the Avenger’s compound with one hand. Y’all are really crazy thinking the weaker version of Hulk was stronger, even the 2003 Hulk was stronger than Norton’s and y’all think just because his Hulk screamed a lot he was stronger hahaha.

I love that this felt more like a monster movie, right down to the pipe organ music when he transformed at the college. And while like many MCU movies it ended with a big CGI fight, at least this time it was one on one with two characters that actually mattered instead of our hero against a bunch of cannon fodder. This movie is coming up on 15 years old, imagine how THIS Hulk would look with today's CGI!

I miss this version, but honestly, I was always jealous of this Hulk's hair, he had such nice conditioner :/ Loved this viewing with you both. And yes, I have to agree with what you said at the end... I even commented it a few times on other posting of Marvels Werewolf one-off from a while back... that it was so refreshing, and absolutely no disrespect to Feige, but it felt so refreshing to not feel like it came out of the same cookie-cutter factory that made the last few dozen Marvel movies. That's how 'fresh' a viewing this Hulk is, it's it's own thing. And then there is the colour grading(!) and cinematography(!) and crispness(!) of the picture quality! This and the first Iron Man's felt so crisp... then when you get to the ending of Endgame (as well as Eternal's), it was just so much 'atmosphere' and particulates and desaturation and 'muddiness'... ugh, ya got me monologuing, lol...

There are moments in this film where you have to appreciate the genius of the musical score here. Especially both transformations at Culver University and in Sterns's lab in New York. 2:40 Nope. US Army. Super glue was developed for Special Forces to use in Viet Nam for emergency wound closure. 4:28 Or "Hlasto beth nîn, torodon un galad." (Sindarin for "Listen to my voice, come back to the light") 17:03 To give you some perspective, the weapon being fired on the far left at this time index is an M240B medium machine gun, which fires a 7.62x59mm lead-jacketed round. Just one of those can puncture steel plating a centimetre thick 300 metres away at muzzle velocity. 17:08 The M2 Browning machine gun fires a .50 calibre round, which can go through the engine block of an M998 HMMMWV (Humvee) at the same distance. The fire rate of an M2 Browning is rather a bit slower than depicted here, but that takes nothing away from its combat effectiveness. And Bruce Banner is regenerating *_instantly_* from getting absolutely shredded by hundreds of 5.56mm, 7.62mm, and .50 calibre NATO rounds.

As far as the intro, you have to remember there was a Hulk film just five years before, and though unrelated, the biggest gripe about that film is that it drug on too long. Rather than retell an origin film, this movie jumped right into Bruce as Hulk. BTW, if you haven't seen it, please react to Hulk (2003).

Great reaction. I loved this movie. It literally shows you why this program was shut down because if you get the type of person like Tim Roth's character, they literally become killing machines that only value to the power of the hulk. The point being is Bruce views the hulk as separate throughout most of movie. He isn't separate but it is him. That is why Abomination can talk and Hulk cannot he isn't linked until the end when Hulk says, "Hulk smash". The main difference with the Hulk his personality is that of a protector. As you see in all the scenes Hulk goes out of way to try to NOT injure people, but unfortunately it happens. That is key difference. Hulk maintains his compassion, but his strength comes from anger yes, but if you watch what truly makes him stronger is seeing loved one or those he cares about in danger or hurt. It fuels him more than anger. Also why Betty yelled stop is she didn't want Hulk to kill..she knows Hulk isn't that way he is protector NOT killer.

Yes and no. They rebooted 2003 film using intended sequel's script. It's just it was too soon for full origin story

It's not a scar, that's just his pectorial muscles... Hulk does have a healing factor(at least i hope Mcu remembers).

@@David_Scar go look at a picture of the mcu hulk. There is a scar on his chest from where he got stabbed. If I could post a picture here, I would

@@velcroz5200 yeah I seen that that’s not a scar. Plus that would be the mcu ruining hulk even more if there was a scar there hulk shouldn’t have scars because of his healing factor.

I always thought the "the hulk spit the bullet out" was more akin to a Moon Knight situation, than anything to do with having a hulk body. His other personality of the Hulk didn't let him kill himself, because that would mean he is dead too.

I’m pretty sure Banner literally shot himself, and then turned into the Hulk and came back.

@@xvs8675 thats what i said? the hulk has some inkling into whats going on (they talk to eachother a few times). He knew what bruce was doin and took over and spit out the bullet as he shot it. he didnt let him kill himself.

You know this is the 2nd installment of the Hulk. The first one has the back story that Steph was looking for.

I’ve always liked this movie in spite of it being on the low end of my MCU list. There are several things in this movie that get called back to in: Iron Man 2 Avengers Thor: Ragnarok Ms. Marvel She-Hulk (and eventually) Captain America 4.

I can't judge anyone judging this movie now with present standards although they shouldn't. But this movie is my childhood. I was lost into this movie. I was running like hulk in my house for days after watching this. These 2 hulk movies made hulk for me who he is. we didn't know good or bad CGI, We just accepted the story of banner and it was so magical experience that I can't explain now. I know some people can't stop cringing watching them. But I can still enjoy them , I watch them like parents wedding photos , they belong to different time and they have different place in us.

If you grew up watching the 70s Hulk TV Show and trilogy, then you are going to love this movie and the eastereggs and cameos from the original actors from the show. But if you didn't then you will also like it, but you sadly won't get the references.
